  1. Strengths are blossomed and grown from the soil, water, and sunlight of failure.
  2.
  3. I am a 22 year old, first generation Afghan transfer student. Grew up: low income circumstances, alcoholic environments, foreign countries, and flourishing Silicon Valley.
  4.
  5. These experiences in life provide the first strength: empathy and practical experience to solve students' problems with solutions of inner peace and a future of growth. Empathy is key in this position because there reside a multitude of personalities. One advice tactic to help residents will always fail. Instead, when a student asks me for help, or I notice they need support, i'll meet them at a place they feel most comfortable, and let them express without judgement. I've advised 1000+ people, so i'm quick to remind that failure happens to everyone, even me. But with the right strategy, positive mindset, and belief in ourselves, we can always grow stronger and succeed. I've helped 100+ residents in Ida Sproul.
  6.
  7. More strengths:
  8. 1. Very personable and respectful, so residents on all floors see me as a kind resource for help.
  9. 2. Aware of space and professionalism as an RA, compared to being a resident.
  10. 3. Team oriented. I've always supported peers with advice, empathy, and documentations.
  11. 4. Learner. I make mistakes, but when aware, am very quick to fix and grow stronger.
  12. 5. Creative. I've created daily fitness club, trivia nights, weekly check in for residents' semester goal.
  13. 6. Conflict Resolution. This is my #1 skill. Lots of experience with this.
  14.
  15. As a returner, I want to become best RA. I want every resident to feel comfortable and achieve their dreams. I also want to help my teammates succeed in their RA role as well. My best friend passed away recently, so I wasn't at my best 1st semester. I will improve 1000%.
