Samantha M. Choi was born in Toronto, Canada to a Canadian mother and a Korean father. Her life was defined by school, going there in the morning and then studying at home. She barely hung out with her best friends because she was constantly studying. Her father was strict about school, but didn’t mind that Sam was very musical and loved to play the piano. After her last year of middle school, Sam’s mom and dad made her a deal. This deal was that if Sam’s family moved to South Korea where she’s always wanted to go, then she would have to choose a career in criminal justice no matter what. Sam was confused at first because she didn’t know why her parents would make a deal like that, but she agreed because she’s always wanted to go to Korea. So, before high school started, Sam and her family moved to Seoul, South Korea. She attended the high school closest to her house and her parents had already enrolled her in a criminal justice class that she would take all through until Senior year. She also was able to take piano lessons on the weekends. After Sam finished high school with pretty average grades, she went off to college. She enrolled herself in criminal justice and criminology. She really enjoyed those classes and put her most work into them. During college she thought of many careers that she could pursue in the criminal justice category. After two years of college, Sam graduated with a degree in criminal justice. Her parents were so proud of her and praised her for following their orders. After a year of finding a job involved with criminal justice, Sam interviewed to be apart of a detective group in Seoul. Now, she’s still in the group and she likes it a lot, except sometimes she sleeps on the job. (I know it’s so plain and short but I tried my best).

Sam grew up with a Canadian mother taking care of her and a Korean dad who worked every hour of the day. Her mother’s maiden name was Sandra Campbell but changed to Sandra Choi after she married Choi Min-Suk. Her parents are 41 and 43 and they both moved away from Sam and went down to Gwangju to live with family. Her mom stays home while her father and grandfather are both chefs at a family restaurant. Sam is closer to her mom than her dad because her dad is always at work and she never gets to talk personally to him like she does to her mother.

Sam is the laziest active person you’ll ever see in your life. In the beginning of the day she’ll not want to get up at all. She’ll stay in her bed no matter how many times you tell her to wake up or jump on her. Wait, there’s been a crime to investigate? Sam’s the first one out the door. She’ll wake up for any case, her eyes will shoot open and she’ll rush out the door, sometimes even in her pajamas but not always. Since she’s always been wanting to solve a real case since college, every chance she gets, she takes. Sam also really really really really loves food. Anytime someone says the word food or the name of a food she really likes she’ll be by their side in an instant asking where the food is. She’s usually eating a lot of food at home which makes her even more drowsy and lazy. Sam is also the one to ask people for everything. It’s usually the tough weeb that she asks because he thinks he’s the maknae so she treats him like one. The tasks are usually simple like ‘Pass the cheetos’ or ‘get me the remote’ that’s right in front of her. Now, when the group is on a case, Sam is more composed and professional. She  really likes taking things seriously. It usually balances out her bad habits of being so bothersome and tired the rest of the day. She’s the one carrying the gun for emergencies and she knows how to shoot. Sam is also very spontaneous on the job, encouraging all the members to do well and do their best. She likes to give advice to the younger members as well as cheer them on. Sam is pretty musical, she played piano all through high school but that’s kind of it. She’s never tried singing, dancing or rapping so she doesn’t know her level. Lastly, Sam is very, you know, ‘not stylish’. She doesn’t like flashy clothes, glitter, jewels, or too revealing clothing. Her usual wear is a pair of joggers, sneakers, and a sweatshirt when it's cold or a graphic tee when it’s warm. That’s why when she is revealed that she’ll have to join a k-pop group, she is annoyed by the clothing she has to wear and complains about it a lot.
