BACKGROUND ;
	hyunmi honestly doesn't remember much about the life she had before her parents' murder. it was normal, probably, or normal enough for a family of two people with two completely opposite quirks, and a child that struggled to control both sides of herself. she can really only remember her mother's smile and her father's laugh and how the two of them had given her everything she could have ever asked for in the form of unconditional love and support. she loved her parents and her parents loved her. to the moon and back, and up to the moon again.
	her parents were murdered the day of her tenth birthday. it was an ambush attack at the restaurant her parents owned. there was no reason for it - her parents were good people, never involved in anything remotely illegal. they just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. and now they were gone, and hyunmi's soul felt like it had left with them.
	she moved in with her aunt & uncle days after her parents' death. she had never liked her aunt yewon and uncle jongho, but they were the only family she had left. clearly, they didn't like her either. they complained constantly about how much money they were wasting trying to feed another person, not at all thinking about their own addictions to drugs, alcohol and, gambling that drained them of all their money. her aunt and uncle fought every night and usually the anger and frustration would turn to hyunmi. she was abused, verbally and physically, and would be left on the floor of wherever they cared to leave her at, crying and hurting and broken. she never fought back. she could kill them easily, she knew, and oh, how that temptation gnawed at her mind in the late hours of the night. but she knew how disappointed her parents would be. she couldn't get herself to stoop to the same level as her parents' murderer.
	by the time she was 15, her uncle died, overdosing on some drug she didn't even care to know the name of. her aunt followed him two years later, killed in a car accident after driving while intoxicated beyond belief. hyunmi was left alone in the shitty house her aunt & uncle lived in with barely enough money to make it through the rest of the month. so she worked, and worked, and worked while she trained, and trained, and trained. it was exhausting being alive, but hyunmi swore she would never rest until she got her revenge.

PERSONALITY ;
	no one really knows much about hyunmi and it's not hard to figure out why. she's silent whenever she's in class, avoids any unnecessary interaction with anything and anyone, and has approximately one and a half friends. her unnervingly quiet nature coupled with an unfortunate serious case of resting bitch face has caused way too many misunderstandings about her to float around the school. there's really too many to keep track of, but all of it pretty much boils down to: she's a mega bitch that absolutely no one should cross if they don't want their hands burnt and ears frozen off. people are tense when she's around but honestly? she's more scared of them than they are of her.
	very few have ever really taken the time to really know hyunmi. in reality, behind all the sharp glares and stupid rumors is a lonely girl, hurting in every way possible. she doesn't talk to others because she sucks at expressing herself outside of battle; doesn't make friends because she doesn't think she deserves them; and doesn't clear up the rumors surrounding her because fear had always been better than hate and she knows they'd only hate her if she tried. she was unlovable - that's what her aunt and uncle had ingrained into her mind. she's been broken and is barely pieced together enough to even function like an actual person, but nothing will ever stop her from reaching her goal and avenging her parents. though half her heart might be frozen in fear, the other half is always blazing with the unstoppable fire within her.

HOW YOU MET/WILL MEET ; yena's heard rumors about hyunmi floating around school and really wanted to see for herself if they were true. so, while hyunmi's just casually sitting somewhere for lunch, yena comes up to her, bright and lively and all, and introduces herself. hyunmi just kinda nods her head and goes back to eating.

FIRST IMPRESSION ; yena is a little disappointed at the interaction, but also very intrigued. hyunmi's just a little weirded out because people usually don't just come up to her like that.

HOW YOU ACT AROUND THEM ; hyunmi was, unsurprisingly, always quiet when they first met. yena would try to talk up a storm as usual and hyunmi would just nod her head slightly and turn away. eventually, she'd warm up to the girl and she found herself actually engaging in conversation. by the end, she no longer minds yena being clingy and even initiates skinship at some point. though she's still scared that she's unlovable, yena is constant reassurance that that's not true at all. she becomes one of the few people hyunmi trusts with her life.

HOW THEY ACT AROUND YOU ; yena is determined to make friends with hyunmi. she attempts to talk to her constantly and sticks herself around the girl as much as possible. she's not trying to be creepy by essentially following her around everywhere, it's just that hyunmi's too hard to befriend. yena never gives up though and crazily enough, finds herself falling for the silent beauty. yena pretty much acts the same from beginning, middle to end. she does get very flustered whenever hyunmi initiates anything or compliments her.
