  1. https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/5mcdfc/most_germans_feel_safe_despite_terrorism/?utm_content=comments&utm_medium=hot&utm_source=reddit&utm_name=europe
  2.
  3. Funny for 4 primary reasons:
  4.
  5. 1) Not longer after this, Ft Lauderdale in America had a terrorist attack. Sunni. Kind of undermines the stance and points to why Sunni terrorism is important.
  6.
  7. 2) Who cares about how people feel?
  8.
  9. 3) The recurring argument is that you are unlikely to die from terrorism so it is not important enough. This is wrong, terrorism is merely a symptom of larger demographic forces which are making life worse in Europe and are still being encouraged despite also being unpopular with Europeans themselves. Germany doesn't understand this because Germany was not getting the kind of newcomers other places were (until recently) https://www.reddit.com/r/europe/comments/5mcsol/special_unit_to_investigate_mass_sexual_assaults/dc2yd9u/
  10.
  11. 4) The comments section is very clearly butthurt about anti-xenophile sentiment on r/europe. Subtly suggesting it's all a contrivance of the media and brigading by ALTRIGHT AMERICANS! (altright in this case meaning "online right winger I find obnoxious" rather than the actual altright movement, people run into too many of these alleged altrighters for them all to be genuine altrighters, and react to the genuine article rather differently... https://archive.is/l6YMp https://archive.is/lY6a2). It's an attempt to aggrandize oneself by pretending to be tough. Similarly, this concern for how Germans feel rather than anything objective or empirical is an aggrandizing evasion of the issue .
