- 3rd-level transmutation
- Liquid Form Spell/Potion
- Casting Time: 1 action
- Range: Touch
- Components: V,S,M (a vial of melted butter, and a cube of gelatin)
- Duration: Concentration, up to 1 hour
- You melt a creature you touch (Saving throw DC 6), along with everything it's wearing and carrying, into a living, somewhat viscous puddle for the duration. Gaseous form is applied when given to a creature that is already liquid for some other reason (i.e., ooze monsters).
- While in this form, the target can only move by a walking speed of 10 feet or a swimming speed of 10 feet. The target remains a constant volume, but can control its shape to some extent, requiring a strength ability check to do so (DC 12). The target can pass through small holes, narrow openings, small cracks, and semi-permeable membranes. The target can climb any non-hydrophobic surface but will drip back down when on a ceiling. The target has disadvantage on Strength ability checks. The target gains a weak telepathy (approximating speech) with any creature it touches, but otherwise can not speak. Any objects it was carrying are melted too, and can not be dropped, used, or interacted with. The target can only perform a 1d8 acid attack, and can not perform any spells which require a verbal component.
- The target also gains immunity to Bludgeoning, Slashing, and Piercing damage. Any cold damage greater than 10 will result in the creature gaining the condition of petrified for 2 (1d4-2) rounds, with the caveat being that creature's weight does not increase. It freezes into the shape it had when it received the damage. If the effect wears off when the creature is frozen, it will unfreeze and reshape into its original form before solidifying.
- If a part of the melted creature is separated or lost when the spell ends, the fluid will be teleported back onto the target as a solid along with 1d4 damage.
- As a potion, it resembles a bottle of melted butter with bubbles. Agitating the potion will result in the bottle melting slightly, before reforming. It tastes almost, but not quite, exactly unlike butter, and will temporarily melt the tongue if tasted but not taken. Potion effect lasts for 1d4 hours.
