  1. And there they went to the underground! Towards the necromancer's laboratory, so that they could speak privately and without anyone interrupting..
  2.
  3. After all, that would be a moment of learning and sharing of projects.
  4.
  5. Upon arriving in the room, it was notable that Mistakes was in the corner, who had been carried there after sleeping in the square.. He was still wearing Ryker's shirt.
  6.
  7. Truly, adorable.
  8.
  9. Sitting in his chair, he would stare into Ryker's eyes and then begin to speak, "First of all, what interested me besides the ability to move to different locations is the possibilities that this ability opens up!
  10.
  11. After all, with it we can open 'doors' to new places, right?
  12.
  13. In addition, I have a grand project in mind, which you may be interested in helping, something that can and will help in our military advances in Esshar." He would speak all at once, stopping just to breathe when he finished his speech.
  14.
  15. He would look around, waving to some flesh creatures that were roaming the room, in addition to some apprentices. Upon seeing their master's sign, everyone left the place.
  16.
  17. And then Ryker and Nidaz just stayed there, the two of them.
  18.
  19. After a few seconds, the Councilman's calm voice echoed through the room, "Tell me Ryker, what do men fear most? Death? Wars?
  20.
  21. No.. In reality, all of that, but well! My point is, they fear something that I have the ability to create.
  22.
  23. Abominations!
  24.
  25. And this project will be my biggest one so far, much more than even Mistakes!" He would conclude, ending his speech with a wide smile on his face.
  26.
  27. And what followed was silence, to see the Docro's reactions.
  28. (Nidaz)
  29.
  30. The Docro followed his fellow Councilman into his own laboratory, hands within his pockets. As Nidaz settled into his chair, Ryker leaned against a table behind him, half sitting upon it.
  31.
  32. "Riftmancy is an art, Nidaz." The Docro reminded him. But the more people that had it, the better - right? He was quiet, allowing the man to motion to his apprentices, his little flesh creatures to vacate. Now it was just them, and potentially Mistakes in the corner wearing the Ryker Bounty T-Shirt (patent pending).
  33.
  34. Jade eyes squinted briefly at Nidaz's question before he shook his head.
  35.
  36. "Men fear me." He responded, arrogant as always. To Ryker? It wasn't death, it wasn't war. It was the unknown and Ryker pyr Docro was the epitome of the unknown. No one truly could tell what he would do unless they really knew him.
  37.
  38. When Nidaz mention it was, in actuality, the ability he had to creature abominations, the Docro's eyebrow rose curiously.
  39.
  40. "Then what's this project about?"
  41. (Ryker pyr Docro)
  42.
  43. Keeping the smile from before on his face, he would say, "So we think in a similar way, our skills are arts! And few can understand it.
  44.
  45. At least, in the way we see it."
  46.
  47. With the question from Ryker about what the project was, the man would rise from his seat. Turning around, he would look at the blackboard on the wall and start to go towards it.. Using some chalk, he would start to make some drawings of beings, mainly terrestrial, aquatic creatures and then flying ones.. Such as birds and other giant monsters.
  48.
  49. "You know, for a while I was researching creatures that had enormous combat capabilities and also size! In short, giant natural predators.
  50.
  51. Great, yes?
  52.
  53. I studied aquatic beings, but they had the limitation of not being able to go to land. Earth beings! Simple creatures, but something else was missing.. They could not fly or either dive very deep.
  54.
  55. Sadly..
  56.
  57. And then, I remembered a kind of creature, one where with a simple mention of its name, would make the hearts of those with weak wills tremble!" He would pause, starting to move to the center of the frame after making a line over the other drawings, "And you know what it is?
  58.
  59. It's very simple, truly!
  60.
  61. Dragons.
  62.
  63. Huge beings that inhabit all kinds of environments! Deadly weapons of our world. Natural predators." He would finish his speech and at the same time the drawing.
  64.
  65. The drawing in question depicted an abnormal, colossal creature.. It was clearly a dragon, but much larger, so much so that for comparison, there was also the design of a city below it.
  66.
  67. Which was very, very small.
  68.
  69. "To work with Fleshcrafting I need bodies! And I can say that after some explorations further north, I found what could be a dragon cemetery.
  70.
  71. Amazing!
  72.
  73. And guess what? Their bodies are everywhere! My objective? Go there and find the biggest one and bring it to Achyon.
  74.
  75. Revive the creature and build a fortress on its back." He would finish his speech, going to sit in his chair again.
  76.
  77. So, everything went fine..
  78.
  79. His gaze would focus on Ryker for a moment, where he would continue without delay, "Now you must ask yourself.. Where your art enters into all of this, correct?
  80.
  81. Simple, I intend to use Riftmancy to create rifts around Esshar, distractions for the main danger, in addition to using these to transport my hordes of undeads!
  82.
  83. And of course, to have easier access to the fortress on the dragon's back."
  84. (Nidaz)
  85.
  86. He watched, as Nidaz began to draw upon the chalkboard to display all of those various creatures. Terrestrials, aquatics, and then flying ones. He would be lying if he claimed he wasn't interested to see where this was going.
  87.
  88. "Giant natural predators under your control would make things interesting on the battlefield, of course," He concluded with a nod. Aquatics would only make sense against the Sirens, but even then? The fuckers could walk on land.
  89.
  90. But as he made mention of the kind of creature that struck hear into the hearts of men themselves, Dragons, did Ryker's eyes widen just a bit. The mere mention, the mere thought of slaughtering a dragon brought that near natural blood within him to excitement.
  91.
  92. He leaned forward.
  93.
  94. Unfortunately he mentioned a dragon graveyard which meant no killing dragons - right? But the thought of an undead dragon being an assistance to Achyon's forces was simply toogood to pass up. Sniffing lightly, the Docro considered it.
  95.
  96. "You may not be able to truly learn Riftmancy as it stands, so keep that in mind. But even still, I can assist on any front regardless," He said, crossing his legs in front of him as he continued to lean on the table. "I think making a Fortress on the dragon's back isn't needed."
  97.
  98. He grinned.
  99.
  100. "What we need is another realm entirely. To easily travel to. To train our students, to practice our arts. Like the Worldscape."
  101. (Ryker pyr Docro)
  102.
  103. They think in a similar way! Amazing.. Really having even more creatures under Nidaz's control would be magnificent. It is really something unique to see.
  104.
  105. Truly.
  106.
  107. Looking at what he says, the man would nod, "The question of the stronghold in the back of the Undead Dragon, would be another safe place for us from the council and others, to command our armies during wars.
  108.
  109. Giving us even more control..
  110.
  111. In addition to being an place to prepare for our attacks." He would add, but it was just a thought, he would do what was possible, after all the resources for something like that would be extreme, "But well, I will have to see what is within the possibilities first!
  112.
  113. Sadly..
  114.
  115. But basically the goal is to bring a dragon back to 'Life' and use it.
  116.
  117. Thats all!" He would conclude, starting to open his satchel.
  118.
  119. From there, he would pull out a small map, which had a path from Achyon to a location far north. Probably the mentioned cemetery.
  120.
  121. "They said the same thing to Fleshcrafting and me joining the Achyon's army years ago, but I can work with what I have to achieve my goals.
  122.
  123. Thats the true!
  124.
  125. So I will be counting on your help in order to learn it.." He would reply, nodding firmly, "Oh one more thing I forgot to mention, it is a dragon cemetery, so you can expect us to meet those dragon worshipers there.
  126.
  127. Filthy people..
  128.
  129. They would probably defend the remains of their beloved gods." In the end he would sigh, shrugging.
  130. (Nidaz)
  131.
  132. Ryker removed the cigarette from his mouth, nothing more than a stub now in order to flick it off to the side casually. Taking his time, as he always did, to replace it. So Nidaz' entire goal was to bring a Dragon back to 'life' so to speak in order to utilize it's fearsome power.
  133.
  134. Logical.
  135. No doubt Barsburg itself would approve of such methods; after all, anything for progress, no?
  136.
  137. "So. You want me to come with you to this graveyard?" He questioned, gesturing to the map itself. "It'll have to come after I return from Alabastre; I've put that trip off for far too long."
  138.
  139. Sooner or later, they'd dive into the depths of Alabastre and abscond with what Ryker desired.
  140.
  141. "Y'know though, Dragon slaying is in my genes, so I guess it isn't too crazy to ask me."
  142. (Ryker pyr Docro)
  143.
  144. Ryker removed the cigarette from his mouth, nothing more than a stub now in order to flick it off to the side casually. Taking his time, as he always did, to replace it. So Nidaz' entire goal was to bring a Dragon back to 'life' so to speak in order to utilize it's fearsome power.
  145.
  146. Logical.
  147. No doubt Barsburg itself would approve of such methods; after all, anything for progress, no?
  148.
  149. "So. You want me to come with you to this graveyard?" He questioned, gesturing to the map itself. "It'll have to come after I return from Alabastre; I've put that trip off for far too long."
  150.
  151. Sooner or later, they'd dive into the depths of Alabastre and abscond with what Ryker desired.
  152.
  153. "Y'know though, Dragon slaying is in my genes, so I guess it isn't too crazy to ask me."
  154. (Ryker pyr Docro)
  155.
  156. Taking the map and putting it back into his satchel, he would reply, "Yes, I will be in need of people able to help me on the mission! I intend to invite Matryona and others too.
  157.
  158. Good, yes?
  159.
  160. And don't worry, I have another problem to deal with first, one that will be part of the whole procedure to bring the creature back to life. So we have time!" He would give a thumbs up at the end, rising from his chair.
  161.
  162. The man would go to a box next to them, where opening it, he would take out what appeared to be a cup, which he brought to his table. The Necromancer then snapped his fingers and after a few minutes, undeads entered the room and poured something into of the cup.
  163.
  164. What would it be? From the smell, it could only be coffee.
  165.
  166. "Very well! Now, could you introduce me to how your art works? Fundamentals and other basic things, of course.
  167.
  168. Mhm?
  169.
  170. A more focused class we can leave for another time." He would say, taking a sip of coffee.
  171. (Nidaz)
  172.
  173. They had time until they'd set out to the graveyard, and he could only grin.
  174.
  175. "Hopefully it's sooner than later; I'm not young anymore." He commented. Which was the truth, though Nidaz was older than himself. As for Riftmancy itself...?
  176.
  177. "Rift is something that will take time and dedication to even begin practicing." He explained, shaking his head. "When I started teaching my first student I took him to the Worldscape so he could learn the same way I did. But I have this feeling you don't need to feel that magic coursing through you."
  178.
  179. He squinted.
  180.
  181. "To feel that thread of magic that binds and connects the world at large. Wayfinders follow that thread, so to speak. They go with the current. Riftmancers? We tear the entire thing apart to get directly to where we want to go."
  182. (Ryker pyr Docro)
  183.
  184. "Perhaps." The words would quickly come out of the necromancer's mouth while Ryker spoke..
  185.
  186. It was a shame, Nidaz once wished to see this 'Worldscape', has heard of it in books, but seeing a place in person is something entirely different. But well, if it wasn't necessary, it wouldn't be a problem.
  187.
  188. Truly.
  189.
  190. "I prefer more efficiency than following what is 'correct', just look at what I do to understand this!" He commented, where it was something totally honest.
  191.
  192. Practicality. Functionality. Efficiency.
  193.
  194. Words he was used to and could describe how he worked. It was enough to see his lessons to understand that.
  195.
  196. "What else?"
  197. (Nidaz)
  198.
  199. Ryker scratched along his jawline, thinking over it briefly.
  200.
  201. "You'll need to figure out how to utilize specialized spells in order to locate 'weak points' within the world itself in order to proper open a portal at first. Some Riftmancers utilize magic circles in order to initiate it; I just disintegrate the world around me. Everyone is different." He explained, shaking his head.
  202.
  203. "As I said, you open a wound within the lifestream itself, and navigate through it. Knowledge of spatial magic is a must have. Otherwise you might... End up in the void, or be eaten by a Nethradin, or a million other things could go wrong."
  204. (Ryker pyr Docro)
  205.
  206. Basically it was necessary to carry out procedures that damage Lifestream! Something that Nidaz was already quite used to hearing from others saying that he did through his creations.
  207.
  208. So no problem.
  209.
  210. Opening a smile on his face, the man would begin to emanate an abnormal energy, which was clearly derived from cosmic magic, but which carried with it a strange touch, a feeling of emptiness.
  211.
  212. Which for Ryker, he could recognize its origin.
  213.
  214. Stretching his arms, he would soon comment, "That won't be a problem! I think I already have some ideas on how to do this.
  215.
  216. Many!
  217.
  218. Besides, I think I will have to revise this question of spatial magic, since I haven't heard that term in a while." Pausing, he would nod firmly, "We can do a more focused and more specialized class another time, after all that had been quite sudden.
  219.
  220. Therefore, I will guarantee you more time to prepare!
  221.
  222. I want all possible information, after all I don't want to go into the Void.. Even though my interest for such a place was more than of other people.
  223.
  224. So if there is nothing more, you are free to go now Ryker!"
  225. (Nidaz)
  226.
  227. He'd offer a small nod.
  228.
  229. "Okay; that sounds fine. For now, I'll head back to the square."
  230. (Ryker pyr Docro)
  231.
  232. [16:16] Nidaz exclaims, "Very well!"
  233. [16:16] Nidaz says, "I will be waiting for the next class.."
  234.
  235.
