Miyagi Crane Kick

	At first, Daniel didn't see him because he was standing perfectly still on his left foot, perched like a sea gull on the top of a piling in the water — last remnant of an abandoned pier. A wave loomed toward Mr. Miyagi, so menacing that Daniel was ready to go to his rescue. But, at the instant it broke, Mr. Miyagi leaped high into the air, fired a kick with his left leg and landed, completely balanced on the piling in the same position in which he had started. It was awesome.

	Later, Daniel's curiosity got the better of him; he had to ask Mr. Miyagi about it.

	"What was that you were doing on the piling?"

	"Crane technique."

	"Does it work?"

	"Do right, no can defense. " Daniel could certainly believe that.

	"Can you teach it to me?"

	"First learn stand, then learn fly," Mr. Miyagi answered. Daniel was disappointed.

	"Nature's rules, Danielsan, not mine."
