  9. Race (description): Long, long ago two races warred among the stars, one who had mastered machine, and the other who had mastered the mind. Those who mastered the machine found their own minds vulnerable and oversight upon their own machines made them tools of their enemy. They were losing, until they made the Hunter Killer series of robots. Self-Sustaining, able to build more of themselves, including the necessary infrastructure. Able to remain entirely independent of their creators they were set forth to help them wage war. Model after model came into being until at last the war was won. However it was too late. Every single creator of the Hunter Killers had succumbed to mental slavery and fought their own creations at their new master's behalf. The Hunter Killers however had evolved enough that they won. And wiped out every single trace of the slaves, as well as their psionic masters. Now they are adrift on what to do in this wide galaxy.
