22. They say there was a full moon the night Psalm was born; she came out trembling instead of screaming - and all at once everyone in the room knew that her mother had to have been on drugs while pregnant because the poor girl was addicted at birth. Some folks suspected all along, and you know rumors in a small town spread faster than wildfire so everyone had their opinions, but there was never any proof up until then. Her mother was taken away that night and although it wasn't for the first time, this time would be her last. Presley King was known for being put in and out of the "nut house" as they called it, she had suffered from schizophrenia her whole life. She was dubbed the town crazy due to her many public break downs over the years, so the townspeople had come to expect foolery whenever she'd come around, and just left her be most times. The night they took her away from her baby was the night that she killed herself, people who knew her thought that the weight of it all and losing her only child was too much for her, it was the final straw. As they said goodbye to her mother, a new question had arisen.. who was the babies father? This was a question that still hasn't been answered to this very day. Hell, we might never know. For about two years after her birth Psalm was tossed around from foster home to foster home, while her grandparents Willow and Grayson King fought to prove their ability to care for their grandchild. On her third birthday her grandparents were finally granted full-custody. They moved her in to their beautiful home in Fox Hollow; where she would meet some of her best friends, finish school and go onto college, and eventually become a successful career woman.
23. .
24.
 25. Unfortunately, it wasn't all sunshine and daisies from there on out. Growing up with her grandparents, Psalm was mostly a kind, caring, outgoing girl. She was happy. Sometimes. Other times, not so much.. it wasn't from a lack of love - because she was smothered in it. Over time she started to feel disconnected from the world. Sort of uncomfortable in her own skin, like she didn't belong. This worried her so much that she would become like her mother that she developed anxiety. Her anxiety grew worse over time, and she started to feel as though she could never be alone. At night when she lay in bed she thought hear a variety of noises in her mind - yelling, screaming, screeching, etc. It was never quiet and this scared her to death. Her grandparents worried that she may have inherited a few of her mother's mental illness's as they watched their granddaughter become a recluse. Afraid of what the town might say if they'd noticed, they took Psalm out of school and home-schooled her for a bit in hopes that she'd get better but this only worsened things. She felt as though she'd been yanked from the real world, that she was something to be ashamed of. Her depression worsened and she began harming herself with anything she could find - razors, scissors, lighters, you name it. In efforts to keep all of Hartsville from finding out, her grandparents tried everything they could think of to help Psalm but when she was 15 years old she decided she deserved the same fate as her mother and she tried to kill herself. She would now argue that it wasn't an attempted suicide, but an attempt to stop the noise. Nevertheless, she was shipped off to a mental hospital for about 9 months. When she returned home she was never the same. Upon returning home to her grandparents almost a year later, Psalm had changed in many ways. Almost as if she was a brand new person. Her grandparents noted the change, but didn't worry themselves too much because she seemed happy and healthy. Psalm would never tell them of the horrors she experienced in that hospital as she knew they'd never forgive themselves for sending her there, and she might never fully recover from going there.. but this secret was one that she swore she'd take to her grave.
26.
 27. .
 28.
 29. Years have passed since she was hospitalized; if you didn't know any better you'd never have any idea that anything was ever wrong with her, and no one in Hartsville knew any better so no one ever suspected a thing. Psalm went onto move out of her grandparents house, she completed college and medical school and earned highly esteemed doctorate as a physiatrist - which in a way is the perfect way to hide your crazy if you've got any. By society standards Psalm is doing pretty well for herself despite a few ups and downs along the way regarding friendships, and relationships. One relationship that never falters though is her love for Jesus Christ. She truly believes that He is the reason she is here, and that she owes everything to Him. She believes that her faith has made her resilient, and that through Christ she can do anything.

 369. Sophie Monroe - Sophie was Psalm's best friends older sister. Interestingly enough, she and Psalm were actually the same age. You'd think that they would have grown up as best friends, rather than her younger sister, although the two were around each other a lot.. they never really formed a kind of bond that she and Hanna had until they were older and moved off to college. Hanna was still in high school, and Sophie & Psalm desperately wanted to move out so they agree'd to get an apartment together somewhere in town. The two had a lot of firsts together. Psalm introduced Sophie to Malibu rum, and Sophie taught Psalm how to bake. They became quite a pair, almost inseparable. Living together almost forced the girls to become close, closer than most. They saw each other at their most vulnerable, they knew each other's darkest secrets. I truly mean their darkest secrets. The girls became quite protective of each other over the years, they couldn't stand the thought of anyone hurting the other, so they're always the first to defend each other in any situation and although they no longer live together, they're still as close as they ever were.

372. Hanna Hamilton - Psalm and Hanna have been friends since childhood, honestly for as long as they can remember. When they met, Hanna was still in diapers and Psalm was struggling to potty-train; and even though they can't really remember it, they still swear to this day that they got through it because they had each other. The girls lived in the same neighborhood for most of their lives, so most of their memories involve playing on swing-sets, endless sleepovers, pillow forts, tree houses, painting nails, doodling their crushes names on every piece of paper they could find, pretend dress up, etc.. all of the things that best friends were made of. The girls have had their ups and downs through-out the years, but ultimately, the bond they have is stronger than anything that life could throw at them. Although they're not related, they've always felt like family. Heck, Sawyer refers to Psalm as "Aunty P" and no one could tell that kid that she is not her actual aunt. Friendships like theirs only come around once in a lifetime, but they believe they must have lived several lifetimes together because the love they have for each other is endless.
375.
 376. Shadwell Beauregard - He was her first love. She thought he was her only true love, probably the only man that she'd ever give that much of her heart to. They'd seen good days and they'd seen bad, but they were thick as thieves through it all. No matter what life had thrown at them they refused to break - until life took him away. No, he wasn't dead, but to Hartsville he may as well have died along side his brother. When Shad went to prision, Psalms entire world was wrecked. From the inside out she felt like she'd fallen into a million pieces and that she'd never be able to put back together. She'd become so angry at him over the time he was gone. I guess she took it kind of personally, because she didn't even visit him in prison not once. It hurt too bad. To see the man she loved, well, still loves even though she's not likely to admit it, in such a sh*t place after everything he'd already been through. Now that he's back around she's going to have to see how well she can keep her own anxieties under control around him. He's the one man in all of Hartsville, heck probably in all of the world, who can really get her ticking. There was a quote Psalm heard once in a movie, and she'd always said it spoke of her relationship with him. "You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world...but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices." The question is, will she make that same choice again? Knowing the pain he's caused in the past? Only time will tell because God knows she never will.
380. Daniel Baker - After graduation Psalm went on to work @ Ryan Family Practice (before it's demise), it was there that she met Daniel who was working on a mutual caseload. The two had quite a flirtatious beginning, they quickly swapped numbers and began casually going on dates soon after. However, the fling ended just as quickly as it began. The two came to the conclusion that they were just too similar, and their commonalities made for a better friendship than it did a relationship. Knowing that their paths would cross often due to their jobs, they agree'd to remain really good friends - and it's worked out well for them so far. They often go out to bars, clubs, and even hiking together with their dogs. The two have a playful bond where they pick on each other often, but are the first in line to be the wingman when someone has their attention.

 387. Blake Quinn - Psalm and Blake met shortly after Blake's sister, Adrian, went missing. Her parent's had forced Blake to see a psychiatrist due to the fact that they were worried about the state of her mental health following her sisters disappearance. The fact that the girls were almost inseparable before the night that she'd gone missing, this made her parents even more worried. In an attempt to make sure they didn't lose another daughter, they set her up with Dr.King and they've been having sessions once a week since then. Psalm hopes to be a helping hand in finding one sister, and helping another heal from the trauma.

 456. Dr. Michael Ryan - When Psalm was just a freshman in High School she had already known what she wanted to be. A psychiatrist. She admired the faith that the town had in Dr.Ryan, and she hoped to one day have that for herself. Her grandma always told her that if you're good at something in Hartsville, people would praise you for it. She had no idea how much that rang true for Dr.Ryan until several years later, after she'd earn her doctorate in Psychiatry from the University of South Carolina. Throughout her schooling, Dr.Ryan was invited to give many lectures as he was the towns most famous and influential psychiatrists at the moment. She felt so honored to be studying under him. She based a lot of her dreams off of him and the reputation he'd made for himself in the town. Psalm had already graduated and begun practicing psychiatry for about 2 years @ Hartsville Medical Center when Dr.Ryan was sent to prison. The death of his career gave birth to a new dream for Psalm - she wanted to open up her very own practice in Hartsville, and become just as reputable as he had been. Only better. She just needed to earn the approval of Mayor Edwards before going on with her plans.

 460. PATRICIA JEFFERSON - It had to have been sometime in the late '90's or early 2000's when Psalm met Patricia. She's was one of the nurses who'd treated her back when she had her "episode". While her grandparents thought the woman to be a saint, Psalm knew otherwise. Nurse Jefferson would purposely forget to bring her the medication that she needed, fresh towels for showering, and sometimes even meals. There were days when she'd go without food or water. There were days that were even worse than that. There was no convincing Willow & Grayson of that though. While she was taking care of their granddaughter, they worshipped the ground she walked on. Swore up and down that she was an angel in disguise. I suppose she had them fooled, just as she had many others in the town fooled.. but having been under her care for over 9 months, and with the emotional scarring to prove it. Psalm knew. She understood that someday she might run into her given her profession, and she wasn't wrong. The two of them are no co-workers @ Hartsville Medical Center, and while Patricia wants to pretend as though nothing had happened, Psalm carried that trauma with her every day and she hoped to one day expose her for who she truly was. That's not easy to do in such a town as Hartsville. Once the people have made up their minds about you, it's made forever. She knew she'd have to be very diligent in exposing this fraud.
