  1. >a single ray of sunlight managed to creep through the blinds and hit the sleeping figure right in the face
  2. >after a minute or so of quiet tossing and turning to ignore the offending light, the sleeper finally opened their eyes
  3. >"Alright I'm up" Sonata mumbled as she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes
  4. >while she tried to rouse herself, she felt something shift under the sheets
  5. >throwing them back, a few things were revealed
  6. >the most overtly apparent was the face she was pregnant, immensely so as she was nearing the end of her term with triplets
  7. >the second, was her complete lack of clothing, opting to sleep competly in the nude
  8. >her belly was currently in the process of quivering about
  9. >bringing up her knees, she propped herself against her pillow to get a better look
  10. >"Aww, are mommy's babies early risers?" She said in a cutesy voice as she eagerly rubbed the blue dome
  11. >It was such a lovely feeling to her, just laying, admiring her strong, healthy babies as they rolled and shifted about inside her
  12. >she felt she could do this all day
  13. >if it weren't for the fact she just woken up and was already starving
  14. >"Food, good sounds good" she said as turned to the edge of the bed and heaved herself up and off it
  15. >"First try!"
  16. >Normally it took her a few warm up tries before she could get herself completely out of bed, though normally she wasn't this hungry either
  17. >plopping barefoot down the hall, she made her way to the kitchen, still in the buff
  18. >why put clothes on? It was her house after all
  19. >pulling open the fridge, she leaned forward to examine the contents
  20. >"Let's see...." she said, idly scratching a butt cheek
  21. >"How about a sandwich?"
  22. >The babies answered the same way the answered most things; with a barrage kicks and nudges
  23. >"Sandwich it is!" She said as she dug through crisper
  24. >"Lets see; Turkey breast? Yes. Roast Beef? Also good. Pastrami? Oh yes! Mustard, mayo, pickles...and garlic! Lots of garlic!
  25.
  26. >With her monster of a sandwich consisting of half the fridge laid before her she wasted no time sitting herself down at the table and devouring the tower of meat
  27. >a few minutes of sandwich horror later
  28. "Yep" she said tiredly as she patted the side of her now slightly bigger belly
  29. >"That was a good call for breakfast she said before letting out a belch for a good measure.
  30. >"Now" she carefully hoisted herself out of her chair "let's see what's on the agenda for today"
  31. >waddling to the adjacent wall, she examined a calander
  32. >she made an effort to try and write down important events, lest she easily forget
  33. >"Let's see; Wensday...Wensday" she muttered as she traced a finder across the dates
  34. >her eyes lit up when she found the desired date, but frowned when she found that she had attempted to write two messages over the top of each other to trying and fit them in the tiny square, in turn causing them to become illegible
  35. >the fecund dazzling huffed
  36. >she was just going to have to remember it herself
  37. >"Wensday was important, but why?" She muttered, hand idly drumming against the firm flesh of her belly
  38. >"Something, something. Was something supposed to happen...no, something else. Supposed to meet someone, but who...?"
  39. >she gasped as she suddenly remembered
  40. "I'm meeting Adagio at the mall!" She shouted, jumping up and down despite her massive belly weighing her down
  41. >but she suddenly stopped
  42. >"Wait, I'm supposed to meet her at noon!"
  43. >Her eyes darted for the clock
  44. >11:23
  45. >"I gotta hurry!"
  46. >and with that, she scurried for the shower
  47. >but still stopped to give herself a quick examination in the mirror
  48. >she brought her arms across the widest section of the belly, trying to interlace her fingers, but only succeeding in getting the tips of them to brush
  49. "Wow! You babies are getting so BIG!" She declared, giving her belly a jiggle, prompting someone within to kick in protest
  50. >"Well don't stop on my account! You got plenty of room room to grow big and strong!"
  51.
  52. >Once again she found herself absentmindedly stroking her middle before suddenly shaking her head
  53. >"Right, gotta meet Adagio!"
  54. >and with that, she hoped in the glass shower
  55. >as she washed herself, she swayed back and forth, spinning in the steamy spray as she sang a nondescript melody to herself and her unborn children
  56. >once thoroughly she waddled back to her bed room, once again forgoing even the towel as a means of covering herself in that distance
  57. >truth be told, not much really fit anymore
  58. >her favorite clothes stopped fitting her before she even hit the halfway point of her pregnancy
  59. >but fortunately, on combination still fit her; a purple shoulderless top and a pair of pink sweat pants!
  60. >well almost fit her as when she pulled the top down, it failed to completely cover her middle, leaving her belly button still bare to the world
  61. >"You've grown more than I thought!" She smiled as she rested her arm over her belly
  62. >"Well, I guess no one will mind."
  63. >and with that, she slipped on her boots and hurried out the door
  64. >but after she was long out of earshot, the phone rang a few times before going to voicemail
  65. >BEEP "Ms. Dusk? This is Nurse Florence from the doctor's office. Just wanted to remind you that today was your projected day for labor. So when you can, please, check yourself in at the hospital or stop by the clinic to get yourself ready, okay? Bye!" CLICK
  66.
  67.
  68. >Adagio drummed her fingers again the food court table as she eyed her watch
  69. >12:15
  70. >Sonata was late
  71. >"I swear the one time I decide to meet up in six years is the one time she forgets!"
  72. >but before the orange dazzling could call it quits and go home, a familiar voice hit her ears
  73. >"Adagio!"
  74. >she turned her head
  75. >among the people entering the mall's food court entrance, a blue head peaked over the crowd, a blue arm occasionally waving at her
  76. >whatever bitterness Adagio had instantly evaporated as she got up to meet her friend half
  77. >but her run was cut short as she stopped when Sonata cleared the crowd
  78. >on any other day, the violet tank top and pink sweat pants would be the biggest offender to Adagio
  79. >But her old siren companion was sporting something much more glaring
  80. >a swollen blue belly spilling out from between the two articles of clothing
  81. >Unaware of her friend's stunned state Sonata closed the gap and pulled Adagio into a bear hug
  82. >Her flat belly pinned against Sonata's round one
  83. >“I missed you so much!”
  84. >she let go of her friend, only to notice the stupor on her face.
  85. >“Uhh, Adagio? You ok?”
  86. >The other siren merely pointed to the offending protrusion with a dazed look
  87. >“What is that?” she said as if addressing a child that just brought an animal into the house.
  88. >Sonata looked around for a moment before realizing Adagio was pointing at her.
  89. >Glancing down for a moment, she brought her head back up, absolutely beaming.
  90. >“That’s my belly, silly!” she said, punctuating by cupping it with her hands
  91. >“I know that! Why’s it like that!?”
  92. “I’m pregnant! See?”
  93. >and without any regard for who may have been watching, Sonata yanked up her tanktop.
  94. >Yep, taunt blue belly, complete with jutting outie.
  95.
  96. >She also overdid the shirt lift to the point that anyone that bothered to look could see her choice of bra, none. >Adagio nearly had a heart attack as she frantically tried to pull Sonata's top back down, or as far down as it could with that belly in the way.
  97. >"Ok!Ok!Ok! I believe you! You're pregnant!" She hissed as she looked back down at the protruding mass "Clearly"
  98. >Adagio, already a bit drained, gestured to the table she was sitting at previously
  99. >"Look, let's just grab lunch first, then go from there. Sound good?"
  100. >The blue siren squealed
  101. >"Perfect! The babies were getting hungry again!"
  102. >"Wait, bab-IES?"
  103. >"Yeah! I'm having three!" Sonata declared chipperly as she hurried off to one of the restraunts
  104. >Adagio nearly collapsed in her chair
  105. >Celestial help us all, Sonata was brining children into this world
  106. >After a few minutes, the two regrouped at the table
  107. >Adagio refined herself to a simple salad
  108. >Sonata meanwhile had ordered a small mountain of tacos
  109. >"They're always so hungry these days" Sonata admitted as she wasted no time unwrapping and digging into her Tex-mex feast
  110. >"Yeah... I can see that" Adagio muttered
  111. >she wasn't sure how to lead into the next question, but she needed to know for sure
  112. >"Soooo, whose the father?"
  113. >“His name is Anon. Oooo, you'd like him! He’s so sweet and…"
  114. >a shade of pink formed around her cheeks
  115. >"Really good with his hands."
  116. >Adagio blinked before shaking her head
  117. >"Uh, that's fine and all. Is he around?"
  118. >"No, he's gone." Sonata said calmly.
  119. >Adagio nearly dropped her fork
  120. >"What?"
  121. >"He's out of town at a meeting." She added as she inhaled another taco
  122. >Adagion gasped a sigh of relief
  123. >she was half expecting to hear Sonata knocked up and left behind while he go get "groceries" six months ago
  124. >"That's a relief"
  125. >"Its annoying!" Sonata pouted as she paused her meal to pet her belly. "I miss him when he's gone, so do the babies."
  126.
  127. >Well, at least she wasn't going to have to rescue her pregnant friend off the streets, Adagio mused to herself
  128. >Still...
  129. >"So what's with the get up?" Adagio asked
  130. >Sonata looked up from shrinking island of tacos
  131. >"This is all that fits me now."
  132. >Adagio blinked
  133. >"That's it? You don't have anything to cover your belly?"
  134. >"But I don't wanna cover up my belly!" Sonata pouted as she cupped the immense blue ball in question
  135. >"What about just maternity wear?"
  136. >"What's that?" Sonata asked with genuine curiousity
  137. >Adagio face palmed
  138. >"Ok, that's it. We're taking you clothes shopping!"
  139. >Sonata's eyes lit up
  140. >"For real? It'll just like old times!" She squealed with delight.
  141. >"Now come on, one of these shops has to sell pregnancy stuff."
  142. >Sonata hastily downed her final three tacos in quick succession before hoisting herself out of her chair
  143. >but when she rose to her feet, she winced as her belly undulated a little
  144. >"Must have eaten too much" she muttered, patting her belly before waddling to catch up with her siren companion
  145.
  146.
  147. >it didn't take long for the two sirens to find shop catered to Sonata's needs
  148. >it was a bit flowery on the inside and the lady running shop seemed a bit over eager to help
  149. >Adagio internally wanted to gag, but Sonata seemed to be awestruck by the selection
  150. >the poor thing wasn't even aware there was stuff like this available
  151. >"I'll try on this, and this, and- Ooo, maybe this!" she said as she hurried through thee aisles
  152. >"Don't forget to try some of it on first!" Adagio called from the front of the store, doing her best not to stare at the overly cutesy displays
  153. >The giddy siren waddled into the dressing room in the back and drew the curtain
  154. >With speed someone her size probably shouldn't have, she tossed the tank top to the side and shedded her sweat pants
  155. >turning around, she finally noticed the full body mirror on the other end of the tiny compartment
  156. >"Heh, still big!" She giggled as she patted her distended belly
  157. >but winced when her belly cramped again, to the point she swore she felt her whole belly ripple
  158. >was it bad tacos? Impossible! She had never met tacos she didn't like!
  159. >she opted to put the mystery on hold for the moment and focus on the selection of clothes laid before her
  160. >grabbing on of the tops, she carefully pulled it over herself before inspecting herself in the mirror
  161. >it was nice, she'd admit, but it was kinda baggy
  162. >she almost enjoyed the tight fitting tank top more
  163. >"Let's see if the next ones better" she mumbled as she took of the dress
  164. >but just as she reached for the dress, she overshot and braced against the wall as a terrible pain tore through her
  165. >"W-wha? What's wrong?" She whimpered
  166. >"Hey, Sonata? You almost done in there?" Adagio called, finally getting impatient enough to bear walking to the back of the store
  167. >"Adagio...I don't feel so good" she moaned
  168. >"What are you sick? Too many tacos?" She asked as she turned to peek behind the curtain, and immediately recoiled back out when she saw Sonata buck naked
  169. >"Geez, girl! You didn't have to strip ALL the way down
  170. >Sonata could only pant as she knelt to the floor, holding her quivering belly as beads of sweat forming on her bare blue skin
  171. >"I-uh...I-Oooh!"
  172. >She gasped as her belly clenched in her hands
  173. >and then, some popped inside her as she felt a rush of fluid between her legs
  174. >"What was that?" Adagio asked, worried now
  175. >"A-adagio? What does it mean when your tummy hurts real bad and...fluid starts coming out?"
  176. >"Stomach pain? Fluid? Wel, to me that sounds like contractions and water brea-aaaaAAAAH! Sonataareyouinlabor!?" Adagio suddenly shouted as she put the the pieces together in her head
  177. >"I...g-guess"
  178. >"Oh no! Ooooh no!" Adagio said, looking around trying to figure out what to do next
  179. >"Uhh, just stay there, right there! And uhh, I'll get an ambulance! Ok!?"
  180. >Sonata barely gave a whimper in acknowledgment
  181. >"I'll be right back! Just keep breathing! That's what they always say to do in the movies!"
  182. >And like that, the other siren was off to get the store keeper
  183. >leaving poor Sonata all alone in the dressing room
  184. >everything was sore and throbbing
  185. >her belly wouldn't stop tensing up
  186. >she didn't know what to do, she just wanted the pain to end
  187. >maybe she should have paid more attention during those classes
  188. >instinctfully, she started to spread her legs
  189. >something was pressing hard against her lower insides
  190. >with nothing else to go on, she simply bared down and pushed
  191. >it hurt, a lot, but whatever it was felt like was moving lower
  192. >she pushed and pushed until her lungs demanded she gasp for air
  193. >but due to her lack of understanding of the situation, she skipped the rest phase of pushing and went right back to pushing
  194. >"Sonata? We called the ambulance! They'll be here in a few minutes!
  195. >No response
  196. >"Sonata?"
  197. >"Something's- Nnnngh! Coming! Gah! Out!"
  198.
  199. >Adagio's face paled
  200. >"Wait nonono! Sonata! Stop pushing! I don't want to pay for carpet cleaning! Just wait a few more-"
  201. >she was cut off by a scream and sudden gush of fluids
  202. >and then, silence
  203. >"Sonata?"
  204. >No response again, only quiet panting
  205. >"Sonata?" She asked as she approached the curtain again and peeked inside
  206. >on the other side of the dressing room, was Sonata, sitting against the wall
  207. >holding a small blue infant
  208. >who suddenly decided it was time to let the world know they were alive by letting out a cry
  209. >Adagio just stared awestruck
  210. >Sonata despite her worn out state, positively beaming at the crying newborn
  211. >"Hey...hey there you beautiful thing" Sonata cooed as she rocked back and forth
  212. >"You're so big already, you're gonna grow up big and strong!" She declared, before finally remembering at least one detail from those classes and offered a breast for her daughter to latch onto
  213. >"Wow" was all Adagio could say at first
  214. >"You did it"
  215. >Sonata smiled up at her
  216. >"Yep, I-" she stopped as she winced again
  217. >Looking down, she noted her belly
  218. >it had deflated and sagged slightly, but the two large bulges clefting it reminded her she wasn't done yet
  219. >more so when one of the babies still tucked inside decided to stretch its limbs thanks to the extra room now available, causing her belly to jiggle a bit
  220. >"Right, two more" she panted
  221.
  222. >by the time the EMTs arrived, it was already over.
  223. >Sonata was still sprawled out in the dressing room, holding her three newborn daughters to the best of her ability
  224. >giving her a towel, cutting the still attached cords, and carefully getting her on a stretcher, they carefully carried the new mother off to the waiting ambulance
  225. >Adagio meanwhile, was apologizing profusely to the store owner over her friends surprise delivery in her store
  226. >the store owner, however, simply waved her off, saying it wasn't a problem
  227. >apparently, this wasn't the first time this had happened
