Power of beauty- Ruth audition

As a brunette sixteen year old named Ruth Garcia was strolling near the shopping district, she felt like getting a new outfit for herself, not knowing that she had a power that she kept within herself since she was a young girl. The power was that she could change something, whether an outfit or a plant from ugly to pretty. She was going through one of many stores and thought that the outfits were "bleh". "Nothing for me today." She thought to herself we walked past the stores. Suddenly, she did find an outfit that was nice on the rack, but was not too sure on trying it on. The outfit that she looked at was a blue dress that did have laces that looked like something a woman would wear in the seventeenth century.

"Hm, not that bad." She thought to herself as she walked to the store and as she walked tot he store and when grabbing the dress, the laces changed from old to modern. Ruth was shocked when seeing this, as she never discovered this sudden change. "What the, hey?" She said, with a shocked tone in her voice. She then realized that she went to a doctor about this power a long time ago when she was a small girl. "I forgot about this power. I  did use it a lot when I was little, but, I guess I kept it hidden, except for my parents, who know about this." She whispered to herself, as Ruth took the outfit into her room. Although that the city was full of heroes, she was not sure if this power would be an advantage to defeat villains of some sort, and wished that there would be a place to get taught on how to be use her power properly. But, no need to worry about that at the moment it was time to try on the outfit. As she tried on the "new" dress, she was shocked on how she looked. "Wow, better than I expected!" She thought, with a soft smile appearing on her face. She did smirk, thinking that this power would be used as an advantage to chance something from ordinary to pretty. "This could do the trick, I used there tricks before as a kid. Time to use this power again." She thought, as she was paying for the dress.

As soon as she got home, she greeted her parents with a grin. "Hey mom. Hey dad. Want to know what happened today?" Her parents were drinking some coffee and reading the paper until they heard their daughter coming into the room. "Oh, what is it, honey?" Her mother asked, with an exciting tone. Ruth then took out her dress and sat on the couch to explain on what happened. "So, you know that beauty power thing that I got told by the doctor? I was born with it and I used it to turn my wooden future into mini porcelain statues? Well, I just touched this dress when I was at the shopping district, basically the laces on this dress turned from old century to the modern blue ribbons like the supermodels wear on television. I guess my lower didn't like old fashioned designs."

As her mother heard that story, she was shocked as she had no idea on how the store clerk didn't notice the slight change of the dress. "Wow, sounds like a story to me. I got to say, Ruth, the dress does look nice. You going out with it?" Her mother asked, with a small grin. "No, I'm not going anywhere at the moment. I just needed to by myself a new outfit, that's all." Ruth replied, as she went upstairs to her room. As she hung up the dress, she did find a flyer for a school on her desk.

The flyer was advertising a school of some sort that her parents tried to get her into, but, she had no idea on what she would do with the power in order to be a heroine. Perhaps more of a trusty sidekick, but, was not sure on what to do if her power made her into actual hero, but, after a lot of thinking, she thought she could at least had it to impress some female classmates, if she turned a weed into a rose for a demonstration. "Hmm, might as well go to the school then." She thought to herself as she went downstairs with the form in her hand. As her parents saw her coming downstairs with the school flyer in see hands, her mother gave her a thumbs-up. "So, I see that you're finally interested in attending the academy, Ruth?" She asked, with a curious look on her face. Ruth, hearing that, turned around to face her father and nodded.

"Yeah, I am. Why do I have to come up with an alias? Is that some sort of nickname?" Ruth asked, rolling her eyes at the thought of coming up with with a hero name. "Well, mainly a hero or heroine does have an alias to hide their secret identity. I thought of one for you since you turn things into pretty objects. How about, "The Beauty Diamond," Ruth?" Scratching her chin, thought that the name would be cheesy, but it did make sense since she had the manipulation from changing items and outages to something pretty. "Sounds good, I guess." She responded, with a small grin and looked at the flyer, figuring out the directions. "Well, might as well go and fill out an application." She said, and left the house to get to the school.

As she got to the building, she saw that there were papers to fill out in order to get into the school. "Well, might as well fill this." Although she felt awkward to put in her personal information, including the alias, it would. It be bad to be called that by an instructor, including other students. After she wrote out the application, she put it on the administrator's desk, doubting that she'll get in since her power was too simplistic compared to what most heroes had used on television. "Meh, doubt it." She said to herself, as she exited the building.

Surprisingly, a couple of weeks later, she did get a letter from the "All Star Academy". As Ruth read the letter, she sighed, hoping that her power would at least impress others. "Well, Ruth. How do you feel about this?" Her mother asked as she was reading the power. "I'm fine with trying out. Might as well try it, and see on how it goes." She responded. Although Ruth's power regarding her changing things from ugly to pretty was something too simple a heroine could have, she starts to have high expectations of the academy giving her a trick or two about using the power to upgrade it to her using it in a superhero situation. "The Diamond Beauty; might as well get used to being called that." She said, with a small grin, thinking that the academy would not be so bad after all. Just one or in a million lessons on how to use her power, and then, she would be on the road, to being a good heroine, fighting villains, like others do. Perhaps the beauty manipulation would come in handy, and there would be more than just transforming objects.
