Alexithymiaa: -Brad was feeling pretty shitty about being arrested the other night, still waiting to hear about a court date so he could be punished which it was his first offense so he wasnt all that concerned. He'd spent a considerable amount of time holed up in his dorm the last couple of days because he wasnt feeling up to talking to much of anyone and therefore was now sitting in his room with the lights off watching Armageddon.-
Covet: Kelsey walked in to his room without even knocking, and flipped the light on. She looked at the screen, "Wow Bradely.. Really? Armageddon? The world is not coming to an end. " She told him.
Alexithymiaa: -He instantly squinted when she flipped the lights on, moving his arm to shield his eyes from the light since that's like a three hour movie when it airs on tv so he's been here a while. "What? I didnt say the world was coming to an end. This is a good movie." He shot back at her.-
Covet: "Watch the attitude. The movie choice spoke for you." She said crossing her arms. "Heard anything about your court date yet?" She asked him, looking at him as she walked closer.
Alexithymiaa: "It was on tv. FX movies chose it, not me." He said in a grumbled voice, annoyed that she had called him out on his shit. "Not yet. I'll probably get a call tomorrow or something."-
Covet: "Have you considered what your explination is going to be when this gets picked up? Does Mr. Roth know about any of this yet?" She asked him, staring at him.
Alexithymiaa: "Uhhhh...... no...." He said gently, trailing off and scratching the back of his head. "I haven't talked to him or run into him since that night. On the plus side, did I mention he agreed to test me out with some bigger clients?"-
Covet: "That's great, so you might want to give him the heads up about this, so that it doesn't come to bite you in the ass and he takes that opportunity away from you." Kelsey told him.
Alexithymiaa: "And you don't think he's going to take that opportunity away from me if I tell him about this?" He asked defensively, leaning forward a bit to rest his forearms on his knees. "He's not going to hear about it anyway."-
Covet: "Not if you own up to it and take responsibility for it. He's not entirely blind to the world we work in. But he'd much rather hear about it from you than somewhere else." Kelsey said. "What about if it gets out to any of the media outlets?"
Alexithymiaa: "Why would it? No one cares about me unless you're involved in the story. I seriously doubt any outlets would pick it up. It's not exactly going to gain them any viewers. The general public couldnt give two shits about me. I'm a behind the scenes guy."-
Covet: "But I'm not, and people know you're connected to me. I don't want to be vain or anything but people tend to care waaay more about me and subsequentially you, than either of us realize." Kelsey tolld him with the stern tone to her voice.
Alexithymiaa: "So just because I'm connected to you, people will care about me even if it has absolutely nothing to do with you." He repeated for clarification because he thinks this is stupid, but his ego is growing anyway.-
Covet: "Yeah, they'll start talking about what kind of parents we are. Why do you think we were both so thorough about keeping my usage under wraps? It wasn't for your sake or mine, it was for his."
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, but you're you. Youre the one they care about. That's why." He said quickly, because that part made complete sense to him. "I haven't called Nancy yet, but once I find out about my court date I'm going to call her and find out what she wants me to do to combat this shit."-
Covet: "I get that but they also care about anything that is associated with me as well." Kelsey told him "So that includes you." She paused then shook her head, "Thank you, I appreciate that. She'll know what the best thing to do is."
Alexithymiaa: -He let out a deep sigh, lowering his head. "This sucks. If anyone finds out about this they're going to blow it so far out of proportion like I was driving drunk and crashing into a bunch of people or whatever else they'll make up to make it more dramatic."-
Covet: "Yeah, it does. And I feel terrible berating you like this when what I did was so much worse. And would have been even more so if I would have been caught." Kelsey said to him.
Alexithymiaa: "Then don't?" He asked, sort of confused. "I didnt even really do anything wrong, the law is just skewed toward people who can't handle their shit. That's not my fault, but they need to hold everyone to the same standard." He rolled his eyes, shaking his head and slipping off his bean bag to slide down to sit on the floor.-
Covet: "Exactly so that means that you didn't follow that. You didn't stay with the standard of what is expected. You did something wrong and got caught. Thankfully you weren't under the influence for the Coke and it was just booze. The coke can be explained off as someone elses, you've gone out with plenty of other possible people it could have belonged to, but the alcohol is all on you."
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, but that standard is more for other people, not really someone like me. I can hold my alcohol." He tried to explain like he was exempt from the fucking law or some pretentious shit. "I know I have to follow the same rules, but I have a feeling all things considered that it won't be that bad since it wasn't really meant for me."-
Covet: "YOU AREN'T ABOVE THE LAW. The fact that I have to keep telling you this is absolutely baffling." Kelsey said. " You're unbelievable right now. The fact that you think you're invicible and the laws put there for EVERYONE are beneath you. Your ego knows no bounds sometimes."
Alexithymiaa: "I didnt say they're beneath me, I just mean that the level of alcohol they say is illegal is meant for like... smaller people. They have to do that so it's like even. The same amount of alcohol isn't going to effect a three hundred pound dude the same as it will a one hundred pound college chick. That's what I mean." He tried to explain, but clearly he doesnt really understand how blood alcohol levels work.-
Covet: "That's not even how it works. You're.. ridiculous. That's the only word I have." She said as she went to walk out. "You broke the law. You were driving under the influence. You could have called a cab, and you chose not to. You did something wrong. The least you could do is own up to that."
Alexithymiaa: "I said I did something wrong, I'm just trying to explain why it's worse for some people than for others, that's all. I'm not saying I didn't do it. And I've also done it before and never had an issue."-
Covet: "Nobody else matters. This is about them, it's about you, and you specifically. Just because you think you can handle yourself, doesnt' make you any less over the limit."
AlexithymiaaAlexithymiaa : "I know, that's not the point Im trying to make." He sighed, getting frustrated that she wasnt 'hearing' him. "Nevermind, forget it." He said with a huff, directing his attention back over to the tv.-
Covet: "There is no point for you to make. You're making justifications to a point that doesn't exist. You can complain about it all you want but the fact of the matter doesn't change. You can call it unfair, but really it's rather fair."
Alexithymiaa: "Whatever, I don't want to argue about this anymore." He said with a slight raise of his voice, staring way too intensely at the tv as he tried to focus on crazy space drilling.-
Covet: "Why because nobody is on your side?" Kelsey said crossing her arms as she looked at him again.
Alexithymiaa: "No, because you're not even listening to me so why am I wasting my breath?" He shot back at her, his brows furrowed.-
Covet: "I am listening to you. I'm listening to you sounding like a complete ass. What exactly are you trying to convince me of?" Kelsey said to him.
Alexithymiaa: "I am not sounding like an ass. I'm trying to tell you that while yes, I broke the law, I wasnt putting anyone or myself in danger while doing it. That's the difference." He said quickly, throwing his hands up.-
Covet: "But you were. You were putting everyone else on the road in danger. You were over the legal limit. Which means youre reaction time is impaired. People like you are exactly why those check points are set up." Kelsey said to him.
Alexithymiaa: "People like me?" He repeated, his eyes a bit wider. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?"-
Covet: "People who think they're okay to drive after a couple of drinks. That's what it means." Kelsey told him.
Alexithymiaa: "I was okay to drive after a couple of drinks. I do it all the time and nothing has ever happened. I didnt even feel the effects of any alcohol at all. How many times do we have to go over this?" He asked sharply, pushing up from the floor and walking over to the tv to turn it off because he was frustrated.-
Covet: "It doesn't matter. You're making that poor judgement call it's one we all make, but that doesn't make it any less wrong." Kelsey told him.
Alexithymiaa: "Alright alright, I get it." He said as he tried to wave her off, walking over to his bed and dropping down to lay on his stomach. "Are you just going to bitch at me all night?"-
Covet: "You can pout all you want, but you were harder than this on me for what I did. This is clearly what's needed when we mess up." Kelsey said not feeling sorry for him.
Alexithymiaa: "You continuously did health damaging drugs for months while lying about it. I think this is a little different." He said quickly, glaring at her.-
Covet: "But is it? Smaller scale, but really it's the same damn thing. The only thing different here is you got caught by the law, I had to bail you out of jail. You have to go to court over this." Kelsey said to him. "I got lucky and you didn't. I'm sorry for that, but if I had done all of this you mean to tell me you wouldn't be hard on me for it?"
Alexithymiaa: "You having two drinks and me having two drinks is very different. And you lied about it and did it continuously for months behind my back. Still pretty sure yours is worse." He said before dropping his head onto his pillow, facing the wall. "Just leave me alone."-
Covet: "I'm not saying it isn't worse. Because it is, but your's is bad too. Because now this is proof that at some point we were involved in that." Kelsey said. "Fine. Don't forget to call Nancy." She said walking out and slamming the door so she could go shower and do all that before bed.
