Carrier (i.e. network provider. This is still important even if you want a factory unlocked phone, because you need to make sure it supports the bands your carrier uses, otherwise you may have connection issues. That is, unless you're not intending to use a SIM card for it, in which case even a network locked phone will do)
Budget in USD/EUR/local currency, including current phone's trade-in value if applicable (be realistic. You can't get the latest iPhone Pro Max or whatever for €100, for example)
