  1. So during and after the US Presidential Election, I've been occasionally streaming Dragon Warrior II on the Game Boy Color. While I'm still basically done with speedrunning outside of the occasional Randomizer race (Of either Dragon Warrior or, hopefully, Dragon Warrior II), I was surprised how much I actually enjoyed the process of streaming the game for other people. To be fair, the fact that I'm not playing the game totally blind does help a bit, as it makes me less wary of spoilers and whatnot, but still.

  3. I think I'd like to get back into streaming once or twice a week. Not necessarily on a consistent schedule--working two jobs more or less ensures I won't have such a thing--but one or two streams a week, for 2-3 hours a stream.
  4.
  5. So with that, what would I actually stream? Well, my set up basically ensures I won't be running anything "modern", as my laptop isn't great (Particuarly as it's 4 years old now), and I don't have an HD capture card. That means that regular Wii stuff, or terribly blurry Xbox 360 stuff, is about the limit I can go to in terms of console games. I've found I can stream older PC games, or games that have a retro style, okay, but just about anything 3D is out. As an example, I can't even run Batman: Arkham Asylum, let alone playing it, without some major chop, and that's without trying to stream it. And that game isn't exactly new.

  7. The good news is that that leaves a lot of older games that I can stream. And I have a number of RPGs that I never finished just kind of sitting in my collection. So I think that's where I'm going to go with my streaming in the future, is finding various RPGs, old and new, J-style and Western-style, dungeon crawling and not, and playing through them, most for the first time. I figure, if nothing else, it could serve as a relaxing alternative to watching a speedrunner reset their game for the millionth time.
  8.
  9. So I guess that's what I'm going to be from now on, an RPG streamer, possibly going into strategy/"tycoon" sort of games. Hopefully, some of you who know me for speedrunning (If any of you are left) will follow along on my return as I attempt to play through some of these games in a fashion that would charitably be called "The opposite of speedrunning".
