  1. Legion Go USB Tips
  2.
  3. Dropped connections.
  4. If your USB connection is dropping chances are some device is pulling too much current from the Legion Go. While it will output small amounts of power to external devices, the practice of hooking devices to both USB ports has shown that putting a charger on one side and devices on the other leads to disconnects. If you need to hook anything that draws more power than say a keyboard or a external SSD from the port (or more than one thing) you should get a hub or dock that has its own power or accepts USB PD power in and can charge the Legion Go at 65w minimum with 100w PD preferred.
  5.
  6. The go was never meant to do power distribution. Placing it in the middle between Power and Powered devices, if power draw gets too high, it will shut down the usb port causing a disconnect in order to protect itself from damage.
  7.
  8. So get a hub or dock, trusted brands include Baseus, Anker, Ugreen, Jsaux, Hagibis(my personal choice). Ask around, find out what works, and avoid the drops some folks are seeing.

  10. USB Battery Banks and Chargers
  11.
  12. USB battery banks do work well with the Legion Go in most cases. They should be capable of delivering at least PD 2.0 spec power of 27w or greater. The reason being, the Go appears (in my own testing) to not charge from any non PD devices. The battery in the Go is 7.76v and the charge chip in the Go appears to only be a Buck converter(lowers input voltage but cant raise it). Since most 27w chargers use 9v it may work with the Go. Any PD 3.0 spec charger should work if they have properly followed the spec.
  13.
  14. That said, some people, myself included, have had charging issues where a 3rd party battery pack fails to charge the Go. My own Baseus charger from a year ago when connected to the Go will get into a protocol argument where they both try to be the charging device, not the one receiving a charge. It is possible for this to happen with any 3rd party charger, so ask around in the chats for what works. The Anker 737 seems to the current favorite battery bank. As for chargers, people have been very happy with the Ugreen 100w and 140w and I am certain there are more. Baseus, Anker, Ugreen are all worth checking for power adapters and battery banks, but ask around, some older models may not work.
