I mean, why would some person just be interested and have knowledge about quantum mechanics and cosmology.
You'd have to conclude they are a quantum mechanist or cosmologist.
Because, as we know, all intellectual interest is just self-interest masquerading as something more noble.

There are a range of issues in the universe that are discussed.
You, the listener, have different emotional reactions to a subset of these topics.
Because you have not allowed yourself, nor has your culture provided to you, cognitive tools to manage these emotional reactions, or the methodological tools to sort their truth claims in a social-free paradigm, you project those emotions onto the speaker.
