  1. Feather 1.05
  2.
  3. Time slowed down from Seven’s perspective, his thoughts kicking into overdrive at the reveal of actual danger. The school had fallen dead silent before he could sense the growing feeling of fear and dread surrounding the entire building. He had been traveling across worlds for three centuries, now. And he knew when someone sounded unhinged enough to make good on a threat.
  4.
  5. “Allow me to introduce myself, for those few who haven’t heard of me. I am Bakuda of the ABB, second only to Lung himself.” Seven could almost taste the egotistical exaggeration in her voice. “But the most important fact to all of you adolescent brats is that I make bombs. Very, very good bombs. Good enough to level an entire building and reduce everything inside to ashes and dust.”
  6.
  7. “Fucking terrific.” Sophia cursed out loud. She didn’t look fearful or concerned for the students, her face contorting into an even angrier expression, like she just stepped into dog shit. Seven remained as quiet and relaxed as he was before, even as his mind quickly went to work.
  8.
  9. A bomb threat was nothing to him. Even if the entire building was set ablaze and collapsed on top of him, he’d survive. He couldn’t say the same for the hundreds of ordinary students, however. It was his duty and his obligation to prevent Bakuda’s threat from becoming a reality.
  10.
  11. “And more than enough of these bombs are planted right here in your very school. Try to find them? They explode. Try to escape? They explode. Scream or panic loud enough? They explode.”
  12.
  13. Finding the bombs and disarming them wasn’t simple, but it was far from an impossible feat for him. In fact, he could probably do it in time to cut off Bakuda’s villainous monologue, track her down, and make short work of her. No killing, so that meant no summoning Tabi or using his sword, but it wasn’t the most difficult thing in the world.
  14.
  15. The problem with this plan, however, was the teenage Ward standing across from him. Any more demonstrations of his insane capabilities was bound to make his probationary membership something more...permanent. Worlds like these didn’t like interdimensional strangers very much, it turned out. Especially ones smart enough to comprehend the implications.
  16.
  17. He needed to get her out of sight first.
  18.
  19. “Can you suit up for this?”
  20.
  21. “Suit--” Sophia was repeating after him before she realized what he said. “Does it fucking matter right now?!”
  22.
  23. “She knows my identity, not yours. That’s an advantage we have. What’s your power?” Seven asked immediately, not giving her time to reply. His charisma was enough to nudge Sophia into ‘Ward’ mode over ‘angry bitch’ mode. In hindsight, that was something he should have made more use of a day ago.
  24.
  25. “I can phase through objects, move like a shadow. My name wasn’t picked out of a hat.”
  26.
  27. Well, that was ONE thing she had over him.
