  1. Rules:
  2. RTA timed, no extended breaks (sleeping, etc.). Standard SRL rules apply.
  3. Food breaks and the like are allowed.
  4. Remember to have fun.
  5. Accidentally missing one or two things (like a Mognet letter) is fine in a race setting, just don't intentionally skip anything.
  6. For cross-platform (PC/console) races, make a good faith effort to keep it fair. PC should not skip FMVs or use an autoclicker/turbo unless the console runners also have turbo access. PC may use the faster battle entry animation.
  7. If all runners are on the PC version, FMV skips and turbo are allowed. Boosters are not allowed.
  8.
  9.
  10. Category goal:
  11. Beat the game (defeat the final boss) with the following sidequests completed:

  14. * Chocobo Hot & Cold
  15. -All Chocobo Treasures
  16. @The 24 chocographs
  17. @All 5 mountain cracks and 4 sea bubbles
  18. -"Healing Beaches" sidequest done (as assigned from the Fat Chocobo)
  19. * Stellazio complete
  20. -Get the Hammer in the inventory
  21. -This means finding the 12 Stellazio, trading them in, finding the 13th and trading that in too
  22. * Mognet Central
  23. -All letters delivered
  24. -Mognet Central Restored (unmissable, all disc 4)
  25. * Friendly Enemies Sidequest
  26. -Appease the friendly yan (requires all prior)
  27. -Ragtime Mouse must also be defeated, with all 16 questions correct (for the Protect Ring)
  28. * Morrid's Coffee
  29. -Deliver Morrid his coffee from around the world on Disc 3.
  30. * Kupo Nut trade
  31. -Trade in a kupo nut for the Aloha T-Shirt on Disc 4.
  32. @This is required because the coffees are: it's the same vein.
  33. @The Disc 2 and 3 trades for an Elixir and Extension, respectively, are NOT required as the items are not limited in quantity.
  34. * Mini-Figures
  35. -Collect the four mini-figures.
  36. @Cid, Burmecia, Brahne, Prima Vista
  37. @These are collected from the Treno Auction, Tantalus Hideout, Dali Mayor's House and Morrid's Coffee, respectively.
  38. @This is required because the coffees are: it's the same vein.
  39. * Treno Weapon Shop
  40. -Defeat all monsters that reside in the Treno Weapon shop.
  41. -There are 4 throughout the game.
  42. * Master all Abilities
  43. -Active and passive on all characters
  44. -Yes, this means learning all the blue magic.
  45. * Defeat all bosses
  46. -Tantarian, Ozma, Quale, Hades are the optional ones, and only Tantarian is missable.
  47. * Obtain all 'ultimate' weapons
  48. -The Tower, Ultima Weapon, Excalibur, Ragnarok, Kain's Lance, Dragon's Hair, Rune Claws
  49. -Whale Whisker, Tiger Racket, Angel Flute, Mace of Zeus, Gastro Fork, Save the Queen, Hammer
  50. @Note that the Excalibur II is NOT required: it would be faster to obtain, but was a deliberate choice to not require to not limit the category to only those with good speedrun times and still bank on good encounter luck.
  51. * Complete all of Stiltzkin's Deals
  52. -These are all missable and completing all of them gets you a Ribbon.
  53.
  54.
  55. NOT required for the category:
  56. Any specific level. Beat the game at level 1 if you want.
  57. Maxing skills, stats inventory, cash, etc. Maxing Dragon's Crest may be helpful, though.
  58. All Key Items (or any other items not mentioned above). Jump Rope and Hippaul are the big ones here. Requiring all key items is unreasonable due to how fluid the key item inventory is, and the coffees that are traded in a key items.
  59. All Treasures. This is mostly because it would be very easy to miss a field treasure without noticing, and some treasures are very easy to miss without realizing.
  60. The Nero Family sidequest. Insanity% is meant to be an RTA-feasible "100%" category with the subgoals of being fun and being possible to pick up with a few key notes pointed out. The iteration worked very well with less notes than currently available, as someone's first playthrough missed one ability and that was all. The Nero family sidequest grants a Protect Ring at the cost of being immensely tedious and easy to mess up, even with notes. Protect Rings are infinite (8500 Hot and Cold Points), so 'unique item' can't factor into this.
  61. Viewing all Mognet letters. Only the letters that are delivered from one Moogle to another, viewable from Mognet Central are required.
  62. All items. Not maxing items, but obtaining 1 of every unique item in the main item inventory. The biggest reason for this is the Hammer and Tin Armor are mutually exclusive, but also because this adds a lot of rigidity to the shops and is very easy to miss an item...and very difficult to verify. Additionally, the Excalibur II is also not part of the definition as mentioned above.
  63.
  64.
  65. Ultimately, what is and is not required comes down to completing sidequests, without requiring omniscient knowledge of the game in order to have a chance of completing the category. After that, if it's excessively grindy without any benefit (learning the abilities gives a benefit, grinding to 99 doesn't give much of one, farming max items gives even less, and Jump Rope gives a key item and cards obtainable by other means), it's dropped. What was left in the game is the category.
