How to Connect to VPNGate on MacOSX

  1. iOS Instructions:
  2. Connect via L2TP/IPsec:
  3.  
  4. 1.) In your dock, click on 'System Preferences' and find 'Network'
  5.  
  6. 2.) In the sidebar, click on the '+' plus sign to create a new VPN configuration
  7.  
  8. 3.) Select 'VPN' and 'L2TP over IPSec' and give it a name.
  9.  
  10. 4.) Go to 'vpngate.net' and find a connection with L2TP/IPSec
  11.  
  12. 4A.) Add the server address in the server box. The server address will look like 'public-vpn-xxx.opengw.net' (for example)
  13. 4B.) If the DDNS doesn't work - try with the IP address (I.E: 219.XXX.XX.211)

  15. 5.) In the 'Account Name' box, enter 'vpn'
  16.  
  17. 6.) Go into 'Authentication Settings' and also enter 'vpn' as the 'Password' and 'Shared Secret' and click on 'Ok'

  19. 7.) Click on 'Advanced', in 'Session Options' enable 'Send all traffic over to VPN connection' and click on 'OK'
  20.  
  21. 8.) Click on 'Apply' to save the settings

  23. 9.) When ready; click on 'Connect'
