Kelly's history

Kelly Marshall as a child spent a lot of time with her mother Susan, while her father Robert was out as a soldier. Kelly had a fairly normal childhood for her circumstances early on, her mother would spend time with her and do everything with her, and she's talk to her dad on video chat when they could find the time. Kelly always wanted to be a singer, because her mother would sing to her before bedtime, and she'd enjoy it so much. However this childhood bliss would soon come to an end. When she was seven Kelly lost her mother in a suspicious car accident, that went unsolved. Kelly stayed with her grandparents for a short time before her father could get back home and arranged for a nanny to take care of Kelly and keep her in the house. Things became strange after this, Robert became more absorbed in his work, and Kelly was sent to participate in self defense classes.

Kelly did not take this very well and started becoming a bit hostile, and when it started getting to a point the Nanny couldn't control her, Robert finally eased up a bit and sent Kelly to singing lessons, as well as starting to return home a little more often, at least once a month. Things continued like this until she got into middle school, when a talent agency took notice of her and wanted to turn her into a pop idol. At first Robert was very much against Kelly becoming an idol, but when he realized that the studio would provide personal security, he conceded and allowed Kelly to become an idol.

Kelly was almost an instant sensation in the music world, she quickly became very popular with middle and younger male audiences. And since her father suggested she use a stage name, and a wig, for performances and public appearances, she was able to keep a somewhat normal life as she attended a private middle school. And things looked like they would go well for Kelly, she finally found her place in life. But her career as an idol quickly came crashing down on her. Her production company was accused of illegal weapons trafficking, and all activity was put on hold until an investigation could take place. Before she could reach her peak, Kelly's fame was put to an end as she was put on an indefinite hiatus.

As things started to settle down, Kelly entered into a public highschool. Because she hadn't been in public school for so long, it took her a lot of time to adjust. Having no friends and being the 'odd girl' though resulted in her walking home alone quite a bit. By chance on one of these occasions, Kelly wandered to a closed down factory, just looking for a place to hang out. She ended up getting caught up in a black market weapons deal, and of course the ones involved had no intention of letting Kelly walk away knowing what was going down. Fortunately they let their guard down expecting a normal highschool girl, and Kelly managed to escape. She was going to run away and call the police, but it was nagging in her head, that something like this was the reason she could no longer perform as an idol. So in a moment of anger, Kelly took advantage of the rush the men were in to try to get away before the cops got there, and set fire to the building, destroying all the weapons.

From that moment on, Kelly knew what she wanted to do with herself now, there were many underground  deals going on all the time, and it wasn't making life better for anyone except the selfish people who ran them. Kelly took it upon herself to sabotage these deals, and as she got more experience and equipment, she slowly started escalating her jobs as well. Now, using some make up knowledge she got from being an idol, her self defense lessons, and gear she's picked up over time, she has donned the persona "Jackie Lantern" an infamous saboteur and technology thief, that even steals from the US when they work on illegal projects. Though her identity is unknown, and her existence is a secret even amongst the American military, measures have been taken against her, including having intelligence agents tasked to look for her. One of these such agents is Robert Marshall, Kelly's father who has climbed the ranks quickly in hopes of finding clues about his wife's death, which is suspected of being more than just an accident.
