Terminology



Character Rotation: The characters that appear in the village as dateable characters vary based on an ordered rotation, which is random at the start of the game, and changes every time the characters in the map are reloaded. Most of the actions that reload characters will advance the rotation by one step, but dating a character or progressing through a mission will completely randomize the character rotation. Here are all of the character sets in order of rotation:



A: Asuma, Choji, Hanabi

B: Anko, Kurenai, Shizune

C: Gaara, Ino, Sakura

D: Hinata, Iruka, Tenten, Shikamaru

E: Kiba, Neji, Sasuke

F: Kakashi, Lee, Temari, Tsunade

G: Guy, Kankuro, Shino



Mission terminology: In this guide, missions will be shown as the letter rank of the mission followed by its position on the list, so mission C5 will be the fifth C-rank mission on the list.



When you are about to enter a fight in a mission and you see a message in parentheses, it will indicate that that will be the condition of the fight in that mission. If you see a message in parentheses when I tell you to talk to somebody, it means you must select that answer.

When fighting Orochimaru in The Forest of Death - Stand in front of the rainbow on the right side of the gold fish in the water for 5 seconds.
When fighting Neji in the Chunin Exam Stadium, Hit the floating kunai 5 times.
When fighting Kisame in Tanzaku Town, Hit the vending machine 8 times.
When fighting Kabuto in the Tanzaku Town Outskirts, Hit the snake in the face 3 times.
In any of the Kimimaro fights, Hit Sasuke's barrel 10 times.

Start Ultimate Contest.
Buy both perfume sets from the peddler.

Do rotation manipulation for Hanabi.

Date Hanabi twice.
Equip Demon Wind Bomb on Naruto.
Go to the Training Field.

Enter Ichiraku Ramen and talk to Teuchi.

Leave and buy the top two items from the peddler.

Talk to Choji.

Climb the structure behind him, break the pot, and take the crystal.
Talk to Hinata.

Jump over the buildings to get to the red crystal on top of the building by the well.

Fight Gaara.

Go southeast, close the text box, then fight Sakura.

Go to the forest and fight Shino.

Go to the training Field and fight Lee.

Go inside the narrow space in-between the scroll shop and the big tower on your left and pick up the red crystal.
Pick up the crystal at the base of the tree in front of Ichiraku.

Give Konohamaru the chocolate-covered banana.
Fight Shizune.
Go to the Training Fields and fight Kiba.

Pick up the crystals in this area, then walk to the right, close the text box, and fight Gaara.

Go to the hot springs and fight Anko, then pick up the crystal on the right.

Go to the Leaf Village Center and pick up the crystal on the well and the one next to the well.
Fight Temari.

Check by the well for Tenten. If she's not there, go south and check the balcony for her.
Talk to Asuma, then pick up the shogi piece to the east, check for Kankuro near the flower shop, then pick up the crystal between two pots in front of the Yamanaka flower shop, climb the east building, get the crystal, and check for Temari, then the north shogi piece, talk to Kankuro and/or Tenten, pick up the last shogi piece, grab the blue crystal at the corner of the nindo building, check for Temari on the roof, southwest box blue crystal, Kankuro on the roof of the general store, climb the south gate to find Kankuro, and return to Asuma.

Once you have 38 reds and 50 blues, go to the forest and beat Kurenai's minigame, then pick up the crystal behind her.

Go to the Training Fields and train with guy.

Walk to the right, close the text box, then go to the Memorial Stone.

Go to the Chunin Exam Stadium.

Grinding for exp and money






Grind for experience with the "Danger! Mushroom Soup" (DMS) mission. Every time you do this mission, get the mushroom from the training field, then turn in the mission. While you're grinding, you can date everyone in the game when you see them spawn on the map. This will require you to at least do the two side missions in the leaf village, but it's better to do the entire first wave of side missions as you cross paths with the mission locations. The first time you go to Tanzaku Town for Tsunade, Grind the slot machines for 9,999,999 ryo, then go back to dates, exp grinding, and wave 1 side missions. Stop on Shikaku until the dates are done. You should also collect scrolls during the grind. Every time you accept the mission, run up the ramp to the nearby building, collecting every scroll on the way, then jump and collect the big one at the top. Once you have 675 scrolls, stop collecting them. If you need to take a break during the grind, do mission D1. When Naruto reaches level 45, the grind is over.

Collect all missing secret scrolls as described below. I recommend going into vs duel mode with a second controller to do these. You can quit the fight as soon as you get the scroll.



-Ichiraku- Destroy all items in the foreground and background. Use Tayuya.

-Hokage Great Stone Faces - Destroy the 4 faces. Use Temari's up ground attacks at the edge of the lifts.

-No. 44 Exercise Ground The Forest of Death - Stand in front of the rainbow on the right side of the gold fish in the water for 5 seconds.


-Hero's Memorial Monument - Jump back and forth between the two tree branches in the background 6 times without touching the ground. Use Yellow Flash.

-Kikyo Castle Tower - Taunt 5 times while standing on a fish tail. Use Shikamaru, hold up on the buttons, and tap left or right on the stick a few times.

-Hidden Leaf Hot Springs - Stand on the middle tier of the building in the background for 5 counts. You can attack while doing this.
-Hidden Leaf Forest - Hold onto a tree for 5 counts. Throwing shurikens will reset the timer.


-Kazekage's Mansion - Hit the vending machine 5 times.


-Tanzaku Town - Hit the vending machine 8 times.


-Great Naruto Bridge - Knock the opponent into the water 3 times. Feather illusion jutsu.

-Sunagimo Estate and Buddha Statue - Hit boxes in tornado 3 times.


-Forest of The Giant Spider - Jump on the rope in the foreground above and hit 10 spiders. Use Tayuya.

-Moonlight Plains - Hit Sasuke's barrel 10 times.


-The Final Valley - Jump from hokage head to hokage head 6 times. Use Yellow Flash.

-Top of Lookout Tower - Jump from frog to snake then back to the frog. Use Yellow Flash.
