For a brief moment things seem no different from an ordinary day as the boy opens his eyes. A bit groggy, he's not immediately able to place the sounds and smells which assault his sense as he awakes. He can smell smoke and burning flesh, hear the cries of terrified people, his own countrymen, as they run in search of shelter. When his eyes finally open he's introduced to a scene from a nightmare. A young child with charred clothing walks amid the shattered  city streets, crying hysterically through rubble. Around him scatters emergency services, all of them working desperately to remove survivors from what seems to be an mile wide stretch of destruction.

As the boy stands to his feet he notices that there is nothing but remnants of the city his grew up in laid to waste around him a large full moon hanging low in the sky, and what's more is that his parents are nowhere to be found. At the same time an eventful gust of wind informs him that he is not only laden in the blood of innocents but is also nude, and the confusion begins to mount as vigorously as the fear as he watches people scramble in despair. Saiayns are thought to be more powerful than other races and unshakable in the face of danger and yet whatever these citizens saw causes them to scurry mice. Not only in the face of abject destruction but also at himself as he stands amid the chaos. As if on instinct, the boy takes flight as tears stream down his face. He knows not who or what destroyed his home, he knows not where his family is, assuming they even survived, but he does know that gaining more power is the only way to find the truth about it all. Running through the flames and screams, the last thing he notices is that for the first time ever, his tail is missing...
