3DW Switch differences

  3. -All jump heights have been lowered(?), may be different height nerfs for different characters.

  5. -Running speed is faster for everyone, regular walking speed is also much faster it seems.
  6.  
  7. -You can climb much higher now as a cat, both the first and second climb distances were boosted.
  8.  
  9. -The regular running speed is now as fast as doing cat momentum = cat momentum has become useless tech.

  11. -You can just dive to the ground and cancel it into a jump to immediately get cat momentum speed as well.

  13. -Long jump and roll jump speed and floatiness have been increased, they now get you to cat momentum speed as well.

  15. -Preserving momentum through actions like wall clings and mystery boxes has been seemingly removed. Doing anything that isn't a jump seems to just kill all of your momentum. This is a big change. Slide speed doesn't exist either, landing after using a slide doesn't add to your speed at all.

  17. -The middle deadzone in the control stick is extremely low. Any small touch of the control stick makes the game immediately respond. This is very bad imo because stick snapback and slight drift are able to disrupt you.

  19. -Crouch speed and vectoring jumps still work, which means ice glitch still works too, even in bowser's fury.

  21. -Touching the touch screen works with the pointer in TV mode. Pointer works exactly the same, use R button to make it appear and press R again to interract with whatever the pointer is at. Use L button to recenter it when needed. The pointer disappears automatically after a while if it's not used. Canceling green star appearing animations with the pointer still works.

  23. -Platforms that required blowing into the microphone on Wii U have been changed into automatic moving platforms that move in a cycle.

  25. -Captain toad levels now allow multiplayer, allowing other players to play as other toad brigade members. All players have control of the camera which could be annoying. As a result of this change, even when playing these levels alone, you now have to select captain toad as your character to get to the level faster.

  27. -Bowser's fury has completely free 360 control stick movement, but for 3DW the locked angles are kept and the game still feels like you only have about 8-12 angles.

  29. -The random mid air water in 1-1 has been removed.

  31. -People in chat told me that meowser skip doesn't work anymore because they added a new deadzone, I'm only in W5 so not able to test yet.

  33. -Chat also told me that the crazy OoB glitches are gone now thanks to invisible walls, haven't tested yet.

  35. -The blowing platforms in the final captain toad levels are touch platforms instead, instead of being autoscrolling platforms.

  37. -In Champion's Road, on the water section when the water moves over the clear pipe that gets you to the next section, the clear pipe disappears visually, but is still there physically. Can confuse players. On WiiU you can see the clear pipe at all times.

  41. -There is a try again button in pause menu within levels, allowing you to restart the level immediately with the same powerups you had when you entered it. Very useful for doing IL runs probably.

  43. -Long cutscenes are able to be skipped now, this includes the intro, major boss intros (not boom boom/pom pom), sprixie fixing clear pipe animations, entering castle level animations, and possibly other stuff.

  45. -Some noticeable UI changes.

  47. -The game autosaves after levels and doesn't give you the textbox anymore, making memory overflow useless.
