- Start: Otis steps out of his room and directly turns to Emmanuel, snapping his neck and thus killing him in an instant. A move only taught by the top brass, to any civilian it would be rather convincing that Otis simply knocked the troublesome lad out momentarily. As such he explains himself with a charming smile while retrieving something from the now deceased Emmanuel(hopefully his card) "Cautionary measure. I'm sure you understand. He'll be back up in 17 to 60 minutes.". Without missing a beat his eyes are immediately then fixed on Bijou, Otis points behind her "Looks like you have the best route. Race you." Otis willingly advises the young lady correctly in which avenue to take to the workshop. Let's hope she takes it. He does prefer a challenge after all.
- "See you soon." he utters with a thumbs up to Olivia and Kat before bolting off like lighting, passing Jazz and Lexi before they can even see him. Otis swoops Valeria up and races to the workshop so effortlessly it takes her a moment to even process what just happened. He apologizes for whisking her away but ensures her this is for her safety. (actually Lexi may be coming out of Bijou's room or vice versa, wont make much difference though as Otis is aware of the possibility) If Valeria follows the plan then I suppose he will be taking her by the hand to the workshop since that was the agreed plan.
- Workshop: Otis breached the door first, ready to kill whoever might be on the other side waiting to attack him. He collects various items, but weapons are the focus as him and Lexi agreed to stockpile them and then spread em around. There are two types of weapons, those that are simple to use, and those that require finesse. However, Mr. Hale assures you things are not so black and white, there is a finer degree of subtlety to be taken into consideration here, ingenuity can trump all. As Valeria uses her mirror to watch for any approaching personnel from the hall, Otis searches the room with great efficiency, giving the dismantled car a good survey as he makes his rounds and grabbing a plethora of items, some of which seeming rather unconventional, but Otis has his ways of making use of the seemingly mundane. If you need specifics surely a wrench and screw driver will be appropriate for the setting, arming Valeria and Otis respectively with immediacy in mind. A blunt instrument can be quite effective, even in the hands of a gentle beauty like Valeria, but so much as a toothpick can prove to be quite dastardly when in the hands of a trained killer like Otis. Must be some pretty extreme tools on hand as well to disassemble and reassemble a vehicle. How about a buzzsaw and blow torch. The blow torch can be taken, the buzzsaw only has a long enough cord to operate within the workshop, meaning it would be the ideal tool to saw someones neck right open after they fall to the ground after getting whacked upside the head with a lug wrench. Should Valeria see someone approaching and she likely will, well... it all depends on who is approaching, doesn't it?
- Office: Otis enters the office with several quick strides of his long legs before Bijou and lexi with Valeria following suit. If a desk is unoccupied then Otis will search it, checking places one normally wouldn't search, treating this much like a wiretap job, get in and out as fast as possible. The desks are all likely occupied however, and to intrude on them while so would be rather rude, no? Survey the room quickly, and take all cards. Is Olivia finished here? Best to take her with you, holding her hand tightly to the lecture room. If a target for elimination is at a desk busy studying I will probably require a partial pm given there are a wide range of factors for Otis to consider in making a move here.
- Lecture room: One would presume by this time in our venture the projector would have already been activated, and the prize claimed. Regardless, Otis enters first ready to kill any would be attacker on the other side. He makes his rounds of the room, only stopping to eye the peculiar like dropped cards, keeping first and foremost in mind his companions in this room, a great deal has likely been accomplished by this point from Otis, It would be rather selfish if he didn't return any owed favors to his friends here, ensuring no harm come to them. The journey is almost over, just ensure they are safe, Otis will have to pass on the disposable camera unfortunately, an item likely best utilized in his possession sadly.
- Hallways: Otis is fast as hell, like a combat medic retrieving a wounded soldier, hence him whisking Valeria away early on, and taking Olivia by the hand should she be ready to leave the office when he comes for her. He also might encounter targets for elimination here, in which case an opportunity to eliminate them may occur.
- Cards: The house always wins. Well, quite the true statement if this game is to be in possession of any. However, the saying is not to be taken literally. No, it's more of a gradual affair. You see a house in which hosted no winners would surely be vacant of players, no? No, so therefor some must win in order for the masquerade to be upheld. Otis takes cards, they are almost his primary objective were it not for his plan to recover weapons quickly in the workshop and protect his friends. While others focus on the more themeful discoveries, Otis will be slyly adding cards to his deck, for he wishes to play you see. Quite the deck will be required if our player hopes to go up against the house, don't you agree?
- I seriously doubt Otis will retrieve a card that suddenly grants access to a new room previously thought as inaccessible this phase, but if that is actually possible then I would probably be interested in pursuing it. However, Otis is well aware that just because he gets the cards he wants, it doesn't actually mean he can use them. No point on detailing this any further unless it actually happens. Also seen as each room will have a card reader it is probably best to try them out while he has the chance to.
- 7 Minute Mind: Olivia should be receiving an electric jolt around this time frame for completing her desk job. The actual estimated time is 5 minutes but Olivia unfortunately wont start our adventure immediately at a desk. It could take longer mind you, and Otis is prepared for such, he is in war right now, his body and nerves are well adjusted for any sudden painful interruptions.
- Killer Killer: Otis fully intends to eliminate those that would do him or his friends harm, even if that means a preemptive strike. I assure you, these swift and sudden acts of brutal violence are not absolute mandates, simply terrible traps for ill minded hearts to tread on. Simply put, if Otis kills it will be because the opportunity and set conditions were there and someone walked right into it, he's not gonna doggedly be on a murder train just because I detail the potential for murder regarding certain characters. Given his background Otis should be able to accurately determine when he can successfully score a kill and when not. He will be quick and ruthless, likely having his victims hit the ground before the others even look his way.
- Getting away with murder: The others will be quite shocked to see Otis take a life so skillfully. He will calmly explain his actions by detailing fabricated dossiers of the now deceased.
- Character Thoughts
- !!! = Severe threat
- X = Target for elimination
- Bijou(!!!): "My, what a troubling young woman. Just as charming too. I wonder just what she was referring to when she asked me to not disclose her true nature to Lexi. Very curious."
- Yo this bitch be fucking crazy, fucking look out, Otis. Our player has made a deal with the devil of sorts, he will both be accompanying and competing with Bijou for Globetrotter. It would be rather unfitting for anyone other than our man Otis Hale to earn such a title, but Bijou is certainly capable of grasping it if her handicap isn't too severe. Otis likes her, but is well aware of the danger she poses, thus keeping close tabs on her.
- Lexi(!!!): Prepare for trouble, and make it double. "Very curious young lady that one. I must say I've become somewhat endeared to her as well." Lexi might have to carry a weakened Bijou, in this scenario she will be depending on Otis to defend them. Otis will honor his words to protect and assist them, but only if they stick to the agreed plan he laid out to the alliance. By no means will Otis let his guard down around them, but he does intend to cooperate with and advise them on their journey. They could be great allies, but also great enemies. However, Bijou's words about Lexi were rather troubling, as well as the discrepancy in her dossier. Why would Tresler lie about bout such a small detail, and why would Lexi? She's given an answer but clearly there is more to this story. And if she does learn of Bijou's true nature... just what is this girl capable of doing? Seems like a sweet girl, but she could be the most dangerous person here if what Bijou said is true.
- Valeria: "I'm quite fond of her, true. Immediately she caught me as an honest heart, though I fully admit I may be making a terrible mistake by giving her the benefit of the doubt. I told her I would take her hand and rush her to the workshop, but after hearing her express doubt I've decided to abduct her if she shows signs of faltering" Hence Otis sweeping her off her feet as soon as she leaves her room. Otis will be very firm with her and insist that she sticks to their plan, all the other players agreed to the plan, he promises he will aid her financially for cooperating. If Olivia isn't ready to leave the office when Otis gets there then he will prompt Valeria to stay with her and Kat as he leaves with Lexi and Bijou.
- If Valeria is completely uncooperative and goes against the plan Otis laid out for her and the others then jesus christ I'll pretty much have to write a new action pm.
- Kat: "Do look after Olivia, I've put my trust in you Kat." Otis finds Kat to be rather agreeable and rational. He has entrusted Olivia's care to her as they will go to the Office together. Otis has good reason to believe she can be trusted, but hes not about let himself become one of her chainsaw sculpts either.
- Olivia: "I do apologize for lying to you. I'm afraid I'm not actually a fan of yours. However, that certainly could change over time, couldn't it?" Otis' partner. She is on a bit of a pedestal for Otis given their engagement. Otis didn't want to split up with her, but it is wiser for her to go to the office first while Otis recovers weapons. Otis is aware he might feel her pain at all times. He's already counting the minutes in 7 minute intervals to anticipate her desk job shock so he should be able to differentiate that from her actually being attacked so dont just make him run off to the office suddenly just because he feels that shock. Once the shock is approaching Otis will take care to not be in a vulnerable position that may leave him open to attack form someone near by.
- Rose(X): She will have 2 minutes to stay within the confines of her room. She also may let her guard down around Otis if he is cordial with her like before. He will be friendly to her, only taking her life when she least expects it. He's already laid down the ground work for his story publicly with his mentioning of meeting her doppelganger in Argentina. The fortune she gave him back then said that he would meet her again in the distant future only going now by the name of rose. The fortune teller said that this Rose wearing her face will kill someone dear to him in the far off future. As such Otis took measure to ensure that doesn't happen. Simple as that.
- Luke(X): He also has 2 minutes to stay in his room. Is he working with Rose or was she simply using him? He turned down Otis' offer to hire him on as a bodyguard despite needing the money. Well the others will be quite disturbed to learn that his real name is Ian Peterson and has been a wanted criminal for almost a decade now. Suffering from mental health all his youth, his family relationship had become rather strained over the years. One day he met a crisis point and murdered his mother and two sisters along with several guests that were staying in the middle of the night. He piled their dead bodies in the attic and kept on living there as usual until the rank stench of death started to drift over to the next property several acres over. Highly disturbed individual that's been living off the grid ever since, hoping the law would never catch up to him. Well I assure you it finally did.
- Ogi(X): A wanted serial killer and cultist. His last masquerade ball that he held killed 29 unsuspecting civilians. Autopsy showed that they had ingested a lethal chemical that was added to the drinks being held out. He typical kills his victims under the guise of a party host, and was believed to have come here to make this death game his next ball. This one might be easier to single out for assassination.
- Emmanuel(X): If he is willing to inflict harm on himself under the delusions of self enlightenment, just think of what he is capable of doing to the others. His troubling actions have earned him admission to several NSA watch lists. He may not be a confirmed killer like Ogi and Luke but Otis certainly doesn't plan to yield the opportunity for him to become one either. Otis uses various NSA techniques to listen in on his room since they are next to each other. Trying to gauge what he is doing Otis may be able to anticipate when he is leaving his room, which could be the best opportunity to eliminate him. If Otis cant get the drop on him he will smile cordially and greet him as one would normally expect from Otis. However the second he lets his guard down and passes Otis he is as good as dead. Otis has extensive martial arts and close quarters combat training. If you feel Otis shouldn't be able to get a kill on the unsuspecting man with his own hands then the move he uses on him will simply knock him unconscious for 17 to 60 minutes like he assured the others it would. However if that is the case then Otis will likely double back for him. Taking his card and hand to access Emanuel's room, there he will finish the job without prying eyes.
- Jazz(!!!): She is clearly unstable and a liability, no surprise her and Lexi get along. Kat said she was part of her alliance so that is some good news. However, Otis certainly wont under estimate her. She ignored Otis' attempts at private conversation so she might as well be considered an enemy. Otis doesn't have some fabricated story to excuse his murdering her so she's not a target for elimination. However if she tries anything with Otis she will likely not survive the encounter as he has no qualms about using lethal force.
- 12th Room(???): If someone is in there then they are not to be trusted and will likely be considered a target for elimination. Especially if its fucking Ave.
- Alfred: "Quite the troubled fellow isn't he? However I do find it reassuring to see his enthusiasm for history. I would love to have more historical discussions with him." Otis is still intrigued by his dossier, but unfortunately there is no way of knowing how sound the information there is at this current point in time.
- Carl(???): "CIA, FBI, NSA... Or maybe just one hell of a motherfucker conman having a field day? Just how high up does this go?" One can not say at this juncture, but Otis has his guesses. Otis fully plans on collecting on that diner offer.
- AI?: Is SoF Gamemaster even supposed to be a character? I feel like I missed that bit, but recall others referencing one and Tresler talking to someone that wasn't a player or Alfred after Lexi got shocked. That's fucking weird, not sure I have a character thought to give for this one because of my ignorance. I mean if its relevant during this action phase then use caution I guess.
- Otis(!!!): I'm liking him so far. Is a fun character to play if not a bit difficult to predict. I would prefer there are no deaths as I think Otis is one to flourish among others, but not acknowledging the necessity for violence doesn't make sense given the severity of this scenario.
- Weapons: I mentioned a screw driver, lug wrench, buzzsaw, and blow torch, but Otis and Lexi are trying to stock pile as many as they can. Otis arms Valeria assuming she sticks to the plan and is with him. Otis will also get creative if the right items are around. With some macgyver fuckery he might even be able to upgrade that simple blow torch into a flamethrower. As I mentioned before the buzzsaw will have a cable so it can only be used in the workshop, if it's a mobile one then great, but Otis isnt gonna lug that fucking thing around, kinda hard to assassinate someone when the see you holding it. Otis will ensure no one else uses it once he scores the workplace incident reward, either by it being clogged with his victims flesh or simply cutting the cord. He places the buzzsaw somewhere close by but inconspicuous so no one will take it. If the opportunity arises he will club someone with the lug wrench with lethal force then grab the buzzsaw which is within arms reach and use it to saw right into their neck and throat, killing them in a rather brutal manner while displaying no emotion. If Otis finds a fire arm or points a fire arm at him they are pretty much fucked given that he is trained to disarm and dismantle them within seconds. He will quickly dismantle and inspect any guns he finds to make sure they are in good condition and can be used. Otis' training allows him to make use of most weapons but there are surely some exotics that would prove most unwise for him to wield. Like he isn't gonna start just swinging around a damn claymore. However he did practice fencing and kendo in his free time and travels.
- Combat: Otis is very resourceful. He already gave fair warning to the others just as common room was ending, if they are not careful they will get fucked for it. It's not hard for Otis to see whose face is stricken with suspicion and who is unsuspecting. If the opportunity arises for Otis to score his kill on one of the designated targets then he's gonna take, but only if the outcome is certain, he can't endanger Olivia with careless moves, luckily Otis will have great judgement on this. He greets people cordially like he did in common room with a coy smile. If Valeria is using her mirror to see people approaching the workshop then this is a fine opportunity for Otis to score a kill on one of his targets and completing the workshop objective. He will prompt Valeria to get back and start searching the room with Lexi and Bijou. He tells them to act normal so as to not make them suspicious "I don't mean to alarm you three, but we have a confirmed killer approaching. Just act normal and keep them looking at you." Otis backs up to the door where he will not be seen as they enter and are met with Lexi, Bijou, and Valeria. With them facing the others this will allow Otis to club them in the back of the head with the lug wrench and use his buzzsaw. Or he could use his screwdriver, creeping up behind them without making a noise and thrusting it right into their eye socket from behind. He uses his other hand to press their skull forward into the screwdriver, piercing the brain and killing them as he jams it in. He does so without emotion on his face then quickly explains himself by sharing the story of their fabricated dossier. He may need to prompt the assistance of his allies, but he is also aware they might try to stop him from killing others as well, no way will the others be able to unplug his buzzsaw or stop his hasteful assassination. Needless to say, Otis will not engage in fruitless efforts. The fallout from killing someone will be huge, but if he can execute his targets successfully then so be it. If Luke and Rose are together then Luke is the target to strike first. He will coordinate with his allies should they get into a multiple person scuffle. Again I really must state the emphasis on no fruitless efforts. Otis is a trained killer, it doesn't make sense for him to compromise himself unless he is certain he can bag his target. The element of surprise is key.
- Things going bad: There are so many avenues where things could go bad. Hell, half the shit listed here might as well be considered as such. The outcome where nobody dies is the ideal for both me and Otis. If the alliance falls apart and people abandon the plan then I suppose it would make sense for Otis to operate solo and start completing objectives as fast as he can? Globetrotter would be the easiest solo, he could make his way through the lecture hall, then the workshop, and last the office, being the first in all rooms, covering more ground than anyone else first. That is assuming the others have betrayed him, and no one had any intentions of following his plan. I don't want him to betray the alliance he has formed if they are willing to help him.
- Common room: Is it even open? People being able to enter there first is a huge problem and thing that could go wrong. Otis anticipates which way Emmanuel will go since he's listening in on him, but his allies not being where he thought they would be at the beginning could be rather problematic and render most of this pm irrelevant. So yeah, hopefully common room is locked. If not then Otis will have to take a quick look there before leaving.
- I guess one last thing to mention is that Otis will be very mindful and observant of the others as that is valuable information. Should the action phase be uneventful he will likely have a good understanding of what the others were up to in this time.
