The flower strains itself [to say] its faint wishes
That will not be granted and pour down like rain
Holding on to the exchanged promise
["straining oneself to say something" (furishiboru) and "pouring down like rain" (furishikiru) sound very similar in Japanese, so these seem like they were mainly chosen for how they sound]

Rather than grieving over the hot summer, see
The glorious visage
