  2. ---------------------------------------------
  3. Is that fem vox or did velvet get a hold of some permanent markers?
  4. -
  5. It's one of the settings on Vox's monitor. You know how your TV has things where you can modify the tint, the brightness, the color, etc? Vox has that but with whether or not he's going to make you feel funny in the pants area.
  6. -
  7. Does....does Vox have a remote?
  8. -
  9. >Val mashes the buttons wondering why tv won't turn on
  10. >Meanwhile Vox is having a seizure behind the couch
  11. -
  12. >"'Ay Voxxie? You seen that menu for the takeout place?"
  13. >"The one with all the wings?"
  14. >"You know the one I mean?"
  15.
  16. >"TABLE-DOG PURPLE LIQUEFACTION "
  17.
  18. >"...the fk?"
  19. >"I asked if you knew where the takeout menu was"
  20. >"Yes or no?"
  21.
  22. >"The grape Nehi you spilled on my remote WET BREAD is playing hell with my reception and my THREE PIECE COMBO AND GET A FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE BISCUIT speech centers as well"
  23. >"The menu is by the SLANTED FISH BEARDS ON EVERY STATION phone, where it always is"
  24.
  25. >"........oh"
  26. >"Okay"
  27. >"Thanks"
  28. >"I'm just gonna put in for a dozen lemon pepper and some slaw"
  29. >"....you want anything?"
  30.
  31. >"CHILLY SQUINT"
  32. ---------------
  33. Overlords except they're not psychopathic beings of evil but good hearted Humans forced into indulging in the worst excess of Humanity.
  34.
  35. >Lucifer subscribes to the idea that good people being forced to do evil acts make for better overlords than letting evil people run amok with awesome powers
  36. >thus occasionally when a decent, good natured, community oriented Human of some significance dies, Lucifer will intercept their soul and force them into the role of an Overlord
  37.
  38. >Alastor was one of the most extreme examples of this process. In life Alastor was well beloved radio host of good standing, seen as a pillar of the community, and surprisingly forward thinking for a man living in the early 20th century, often championing for the rights of the downtrodden and forgotten.
  39. >The worst thing that could be ascribed to the man was he loved his family too much.
  40. >When dragged before Lucifer's throne, Alastor quickly broke down when the threat of pulling his parents and other family members down to the lowest rungs of Hell overrode his sense of compassion and Humanity.
  41.
  42. >In just a single day, Alastor wrought more destruction, carnage and death than any other Overlord had caused in a year.
  43. >All in the hope that it would satisfy Lucifer enough to deter him from his threat. A task Alastor took onto himself every day of his life in Hell for decades, until the decent man had long been extinguished in blood.
  44.
  45. >A shame Alastor never called Lucifer's bluff.
  46. -
  47. Hate to poke holes in this little fan theory, but surely if Al had such compassion and care for his fellow man, he wouldn't immediately resort to murder to save his family? That's jumping from 1 to 100 in seconds. Surely he'd try desperately to find another way out of it, before resorting to the final option given to him?
  48.
  49. The reason why the Devil can have such a hold on people is because they lack fortitude, or are unable to stand in the face of adversity and they just give in. If you have strong beliefs either in yourself, your ability, or something else, there's no way Lucifer can have any hold or exert his power on you as your belief is too strong, and he, as a concept, preys on weakness.
  50. -
  51. Yeah the whole concept has a lot of holes in it. The concept was just a fling I thought about off the cuff. Undoubtedly the process to corrupt someone to turn against their personal values would be a long, herculean, task, not something a mere conversation or threat would alter.
  52. ---
  53. This also raises a question. What if a sinner rejected the notions of being miserable about their situation in Hell, and just decided to take it in their stride? I don't mean about recklessly killing people and causing chaos or doing narcotic substances and drinking by the truck load, but being kind to other demons, and enjoying the fact that there's another aspect of existence, essentially regaining a lust for life and a reason to better themselves, despite being dead?
  54.
  55. We all know that most people see the idea of demons being kind and thinking about being bettered a joke, so would that make them an easy target, or easy to be friends with, depending on the company they keep?
  56. -
  57. I guess anyone who DOES enjoy their continued existence, even in Hell, without becoming an asshole, keeps it on the DL so as not to draw attention to themselves.
  58. Maybe they're interacting with Hell's natives more to get away from the anarchic mayhem that most sinners bring to the table.
  59. I can totally see sinners living among imps, because it's comparatively "more peaceful" there.
