- Julian: Oh! Such a stunning beauty!
- Isolde: ... Who said that?
- J: It was I, my darling! I have seen you from afar, and my word do you carry yourself with great style!
- I: Is that so?
- J: Indeed! The arc in the way that you swing your sword, the spin and turnabout when you return to a neutral pose, the swiftness
- of your footwork... even the scars on your face look good in a rugged sort of way!
- I: Huh, I just sort of slam my blade into people's faces and hope they die, I didn't think I had any 'style' while I did it. And
- what's wrong with my face, huh?
- J: Erm... forgive me, I did not mean to offend you in any way... w-why are you pointing that sword at me?
- I: Well, you said that my scars had a sort of 'rugged charm', I figured you would want some yourself.
- J: !!! Ah, hahaha... w-would you listen to that, I think I hear someone calling my name! Farewell, my desert flower!
- I: Yeah, you'd BEST start running!... Wait. I didn't even catch his name.
- [B-Support]
- Isolde: You there.
- Julian: Ah-! O-oh, it's just you again.
- I: I didn't catch your name before. Figured that I might as well ask.
- J: Oh! Well, that doesn't sound too threatening. Very well then, my name is Julian.
- I: Huh, flowery sort of name isn't it? Mine's Isolde.
- J: Isolde... aaahh, such a delicate name. It adds quite the contrast when compared to-
- I: Don't even think about finishing that sentence. Anyway, I wanted to ask you something.
- J: Anything for a beautiful woman such as yourself.
- I: Why are you watching me so closely? I didn't even notice it, but when I went through the motions I really DO turn a bit on my
- heel when I come back from an attack.
- J: Well, yes. I thought that you would know your own stance, poise, and grace...
- I: You must have been staring at me for quite some time if you could see all of that so clearly.
- J: ... I should be leaving now. Until we meet again, my golden dancer.
- I: Hey, get back here!... How does he move so quickly?
- [A-Support]
- Isolde: There! I finally caught up with you again.
- Julian: Isolde! You mustn't sneak up upon me like that. Even if you ARE a diamond in the r-
- I: Yeah, yeah, I get it. I've got one more question for you.
- J: ... Yes?
- I: Why'd you take such an interest in how I fight? I wouldn't have taken you for the 'stabbing and chopping' sort.
- J: Ah, there's the question of the hour. You know, despite appearances you are quite intelligent.
- I: You can't say anything to me without mentioning how I look, can you?
- J: One question at a time, my dear. How to put this... I may not look it, but I was once nobility. I learned the finer points of
- magic, along with dancing, fencing, horsemanship, poetry, tea-serving...
- I: Sounds boring to me. I've never much been one for fanciness like that.
- J: You see my problem, then! Every day, in one ear and out the other... my life had become a stagnant chain of events that bled
- into one-another until every day became a week, became a month, became years... I couldn't handle it!
- I: You ran away?
- J: Indeed. I took up a new name and began to travel the world, seeing the sights and learning the truth. But, ah, some old
- habits die hard.
- I: ...
- J: When I saw how you fought, a mix of brutality and grace, I couldn't help but slip back into my fencing-education. I noticed
- how even in the thick of battle you led yourself with poise and style. It was... enticing, to say the least.
- I: ... I see. So you stalked me.
- J: Such a harsh term! I prefer the idea of being "enchanted" by your beauty.
- I: You're not a bad catch yourself.
- J: !!! You truly mean that? Why, Isolde, I would never had thought-
- I: But, you definitely need a 'rugged scar' or two on your face... maybe on your cheek, or a split on your lips?
- J: ... Hah. Ah-hahahha... It figures that you wouldn't let that go.
- [ENDING SLIDE]
- Isolde, the Desert Flower & Charming Julian
- With the loyalty of a guard-dog, Isolde put Julian's philandering ways behind him. At the same time, his disarming smile tamed
- the shrew of a woman into a respectable lady. The two eventually married and settled down to start a family, happy with what
- they had. Isolde taught her son the way of the blade, while Julian educated him in magic; he would later grow up to become a
- duelist of great renown.
