  1. Pokemon Stadium 2 Challenge Cups FAQ:
  2.
  3. Q: What is this run?
  4. A: Just doing a run of all the Challenge Cups. This isn't an official category or anything, just doing this for fun. I wanted to run something but haven't had any time to route, so this is the perfect run thing to just jump in and do since...you can't really route, since it's all random!
  5.
  6. Q: What is with the order you're doing?
  7. A: So since individual cups are now tracked as ILs on the leaderboard ( https://www.speedrun.com/pkmnstadium2/individual_levels ) I'm making sure I do my absolute worst one first, to try and cheekily improve them. After that I'm just going in some weird circle, doing the Ultra/Pokes and Master/Greats together since they have the same pattern.
  8.
  9. Q: Is that Pokemon Shiny?
  10. A: If you have to ask, no, it isn't. However, when Pokemon get given nicknames, it can slightly alter their colour (which is why trainers that aren't leaders have nicknames on their Pokemon to show off this feature)
  11.
  12. It is actually possible that a Shiny Pokemon will show up in Challenge Cup, as everything there is randomised. However, it will actually sparkle, like seen in this vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKx37qF79TA
  13.
  14. Q: What is the record?
  15. A: Uhh, I guess there isn't one. My splits are just pulled from the times I got in my complete game PB.
  16.
  17. Q: So what's your goal?
  18. A: I don't really have one? I guess try to get sub 5 hours?
  19.
  20. Q: What is Infinite Continue Glitch?
  21. A: Basically if you already have a suspended (saved) battle, and then go to suspend another battle it'll ask whether you want to overwrite your previous one, or continue without suspending. If you choose the latter, the game allows you to restart the fight as if it was using a continue, but your continue is not used up. To have this option you must first have a continue however, so especially in the harder cups I'll specifically be playing for a continue in the first or second fights, because restarting the cup all the way from the beginning is a ridiculously long amount of time
  22.
  23. Q: Why do you reset after completing a cup?
  24. A: This is just to skip the small cutscene that shows all the Pokes you used in the cup. Saves just a few seconds each time.
  25.
  26. Q: What is with those split icons? What does A and B mean?
  27. A: This is a grading system for all of my splits. I'm sure you are familiar with grades, A+ being the best then going down from there. So the idea is, if the split has an A+ next to it, my time there was really good and would be very difficult to beat. If it's a C though for example, it was quite poor, and I should be able to save time there pretty easily.
  28.
  29. This way, everyone watching has more accurate information on where I can save time, and where I should be making up time. Also that all time loss is not equal, as losing time vs an A+ split isn't really that bad, whereas losing time vs a C split is really bad. It'll probably take a while for a lot of people watching to pick up the meaning so I will appreciate everyone who explains how this works (correctly) in chat to new people.
