I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our subreddit.

Five months ago, a great redditor, veroz, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, created the #reddit-mfa channel on freenode. This momentous creation came as a great beacon light of hope to tens of OCBD and Clarks Desert Boots wearing slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice at the hands of WAYWT. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity to J. Crew.

But five months later, those who have risen above the standard of MFA are still not free. Five months later, the life of the IRCer is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. Five months later, the IRCer lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. Five months later, the IRCer is still languished in the corners of MFA society and finds himself an exile in his own land. And so we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.

CarlinT, a moderator of MFA through no contribution of his own, wishes to shut down IRC. He claims we have become an unsavory element that reflects poorly upon the community. We reject this notion -- IRC is home to veroz, Renalan, shujin, kappuru, laviate, Urthwhyte, and countless other members who form the true bedrock of this subreddit. We are the guidewriters, the Consistent Contributors, and the answerers of Small Questions. What we ask of you, MFA, is to stand by us in our fight against the oppression of Carlin. As we have helped countless of you, in turn we ask you to aid us. Whether you have received a compliment on your dress after years of apathy, reinvented your wardrobe from the guides, or received help from a Consistent Contributor -- come forward. If IRC has guided you, lifted you from the doldrums of H&M and Florsheim to the enlightened land of Stephan Schneider and Trickers, share your story.

We make these contributions not only for ourselves, but for the whole of reddit to benefit. All we wish is that our own small community be left in peace to thrive as it has in the past months, free from the influence of a ceremonial figurehead. Should our demands not be met, we are not without recourse. We will withdraw our guides, cease our posting in WAYWT, and form a splinter subreddit -- we will leave MFA headless and without direction, a shadow of its former self not even comparable to /fa/
