[background]: Jihye was born in Cairns, Australia with her twin brother, Jung Jihoon. Her parents always fought and one day when Jihye was about 6 years old, they divorced. Her father got custody because her mom drank too much. Later on he took his 2 children and flew to South Korea where he married another woman. This caused her name to change because her father took her new mom's name, she became Kang Jihye. This woman was verbally abusive and Jihye told her father about it but he wouldn't hear it. When Jihye was older, around 17, her stepmother became physically abusive and a year later Jihye and her twin brother left home and lived together in an apartment complex where their old parents wouldn't find them. Because of all the stress, Jihye's grades went under. She also needed some extra credits to get into a better college so she took the opportunity to be a camp councelor.
