MegaTale (Pacifist) Part 17- Let's Chill Memes

Rock soon reached Beta and MegaBoy's house, spotting the two outside the door. Oddly enough, MegaBoy was wearing a blue outfit rather than a red one. The scarf was a lighter blue, and MegaBoy's hairstyle was different as well. "Oh, hey there, human!" MegaBoy greeted to Rock. "Welcome to our abode! Just in time, too, we were about to unlock!" "You must be pretty serious about hanging out with us, kid." Beta chimes in. "Feel free to make yourself at home." MegaBoy unlocks the door and lets the two in, with Rhythm following behind.

"Welcome to the house of Tone and Beta!" MegaBoy- or now Tone, apparently- states. "Or Beta and Tone. Either-or." Rhythm was confused. How come MegaBoy- er, Tone- changed his name literally MOMENTS after the battle? And the sudden change in clothes, too... *Something feels off...* Rhythm thought to themselves. "Take your time to look around." Tone states. The house was pure grey and metal, with a flat-screen TV, a black desk with a black laptop sporting a purple "B", another smaller desk with a book on it, and a blue couch that sports what seems to be a hero in blue armor and an arm cannon. Looks familiar to Rock, but he cannot point out why. A plush toy that looks exactly the same sits right next to the TV's area.

Rock digs into the couch and manages to find a few Zenny. "Cool, you seem to have found the 20 Zenny I lost." Beta states. "Don't worry about it, kid, you can keep it." Rock pockets the 20 Zenny and checks what's on the TV. Apparently, nothing. "That's my favorite streaming show, hosted by the one and only StupidStudiosN!" Tone states. "Unfortunately, he's not streaming at the moment. If he was, I'd have us all sit in front of the TV with a bowl of popcorn! Beta, on the other hand, would sit at his laptop and watch it from there. Yes, he streams on Live TV AND on the internet. Crazy, right?" Rock decides to then check up on the familiar-looking plushie. "The best part of that plushie?" Tone states. "He can SIT! On the FLOOR!" "Impressive, right kid?" Beta states.

Rock decides to look at the laptop. "That's my personal laptop." Beta states. "I spend a lot of time on there." "You see, Beta here likes to make these... 'webcomics'. But he usually never works on them! He's always watching videos on YouTube!" "I think they're doing really well." Beta states. "In my own personal opinion..." Tone states, "...I think they're terrible. Contains a bunch of bad jokes and storylines." "Hey, I know it's not all that great," Beta states, "but I don't really do it for the views." "Then why do you make such garbage!?" Tone states. "It gives me something to do." Beta responds. "Why not do your JOB!?" Tone responds. "Eh, maybe later." Beta responds. "*Sigh*, nevermind." Tone finished with.

Across from the right of Rock was a door that led into the kitchen. The kitchen had black and white checkered tiles, and there was the typical stove, counter with cutting board, sink, fridge, and dishwasher. The dinner table was grey, seemed to have no legs, and was of odd design. It was also short to the point of being able to stand at it from Beta and Tone's heights, which made Rock realize how odd it was that they were at about the same height. "Don't ask about the dinner table." Tone states. "We don't really know either. It was like that when we moved in. And we can't replace it because the house designer decided to weld it into the ground." "I don't know." Beta states. "I feel like it really ties in the room together."

Rock decides to check out the stove. "You know, the stove is cool and all..." Tone states. "...But there's nothing better than food roasted by the local Flame-Core robot. ...Just be careful who you ask, because they might go crazy and leave it burnt. And thus why I moreso trust either the stove or the microwave." Just then, a thought got to Tone. "...Say, Beta, when are you going to bring back the microwave? You know, the one at the steak trap?" "I'll get that later." Beta states. "Oh, OK." Tone replies.

Rock then decides to check out the fridge. "All things gotta stay fresh, right?" Tone states. "That's why I always try to keep in style with my outfits! ...Also, that's why we have the fridge." Upon opening the fridge, Rock sees an assortment of foods. While there are the occasional fruits, vegetables, meats, and tubs of ice cream, it's mostly steak and pizza. "Yes, Beta likes to eat pizza." Tone states. "I like it, too, but I mostly prefer a good steak!" Rock then closes the fridge and checks out the sink. "That is our sink! Next to it is the dishwasher!" Upon checking the dishwasher, what Tone says is vice-versa. Next to the dishwasher, however...

"Oh, that area?" Tone states. "That is the basement! We originally had it be our guest room, and then it was our 'Human Capture Zone'! It had a comfy guest bed and a plate of my finest steak! ...But then it got rented out by Ender and Alto as their 'Team Memester Hideout'. Which is why the Capture Zone was moved to the shed. Though, since we never used it, I guess it doesn't matter now. ...It's probably best not to go into the basement." Rock decides to follow this advice and leave it alone.

Rock then checks out the upstairs area that was to the right of the TV. To the right was a door labeled with a blue "T". To the left was a door labeled with a purple "B". Rock tries to get into Beta's room. "Sorry, kid, but my room's off limits." Beta states. "Not that you would make it a single step in. The room is a mess!" Tone replies. Rock then decides to check out Tone's room, of which Tone follows him in. Beta, however, decided to stay downstairs.

Tone's room has a box of daggers, a bed themed with the same, oddly familiar blue hero, a collection of merchandise seemingly based on the same character, a bookshelf, a closet, and a laptop labeled with a blue "T". Rock looks at the box of daggers. "Ah, that's the daggers I used during the battle!" Tone states. "Good times, right?" Rock then checks out the laptop. "Ah, yes, I do indeed have my own personal laptop!" Tone states. "And before you ask, no, I don't know why Beta's is in the living room."

Rock decides to check out the bookshelf. "Ah, yes, my book collection." Tone states. "I don't usually do a lot of reading, but sometimes I take the time to look at the artbooks I get for my merchandise collection." Speaking of which, Rock decides to check it out. "Neat items, huh?" Tone states. "All of these are from my favorite gaming franchise, Mega Man. What is it, you may ask? ...Honestly, if you did, I'd be a bit offended. EVERYONE knows what Mega Man is!" ...I feel like this has gotten a bit meta. Upon Rock checking out the bed, Tone simply states "Please do not jump on my bed."

Rock then looks at the closet. "That is my closet!" Tone states. "It's where I keep all my styles! ...I'm thinking of throwing out the old MegaBoy outfits, though." Once again, Rhythm was at a loss. Last he checked, there was only ONE "MegaBoy" outfit, the red one with blue shorts and a green scarf. ...Right? Rock then decides to talk with Tone. "Well, now that we've finished the tour..." Tone states. "...It's time to begin our hang-out! ...If you're ready, that is." Rock nods in agreement. "Well, then, let's-!"

...Suddenly, everything stops. Rhythm is unsure of what's happening. He decides to wave in Rock's face. Nothing happens. Rhythm then decides to go out and see what's happening, and is actually surprised at how far he and Rock could be separated. Upon getting outside, he then notices that even everyone outside has stopped moving... As if all of time is frozen! Suddenly, Rhythm spots a singular, moving figure... A female one. "Hey, do you know what's going on here?" Rhythm asks the figure, not that he expected her to hear hi-

"ah, you must be forte." The female figure responded. "you don't happen to know a way to other universes, like that other ghost i met, do you?" "...Uh... No?" Forte responds. "ah. ...then i should let you know not to freak out over what happens next." The figure responds. "Ok, who are you, why are you here, and why is time frozen?" Forte asks. "...time in this universe has been frozen over because it has become decayed. and i am here to destroy it." Oh, that makes se- Wait, WHAT!?

"Wait, WHAT!?" ...Forte, I know I am just a narrative voice and you can't hear me, but that's what I just said. "yep. you see, the way it works is-" The figure responded, but neither Forte or I am going to have any of that. "I don't care how it works!" Forte responded with. "Just... Why!?" "because it's my job." The figure stated. "it's a dull one, but it's a living. i'm prestissimo, by the way." "...So, what, am I doomed to die here?" Forte asks. "well, unless you can find a way to jump across universes..." Prestissimo states, "...yep, pretty much. though, i'm guessing it's not really a new experience for you, being a human ghost and all." "...I suppose not." Forte stated. Prestissimo then proceeded to say some sort of phrase, then leave. Forte was then left to reflect on everything that is happening, and everything that has already happened. Suddenly, moments later, he hears a voice...

"...Eh, 9/10." The voice states. "They wiped out all the lifeforms and planets, and even extinguished the 'Suns'..." Apparently, the voice doesn't seem to be aware of Rhythm and all of Earth. "...But they missed out on destroying Space in its entirety." The voice continued. "Which should be simple. Just gotta reach out and-" Suddenly, a large, purple wave of destruction begins wiping out the entiRE UNIVERSE OH SHI




...Yep, the build-up from the house tour all led up to this April Fools joke. Ha ha! ...But real talk. You see, the truth about MegaTale is, I kinda wanted to reboot it for a while now. Start if from zero with a new name, a new, more relative cast (as in, not using Prototypers that haven't been on in ages, like Retro Pikachu), and more alterations to the original Undertale story than just the characters. However, there's just one problem: I recently started feeling torn between rebooting MegaTale or leaving it to die. I mean, Undertale's a great game and all, and I'm a big fan of the game. But... Well, let's face it. The fanbase is garbage, and adding this big MMRPG Self-Insert AU would only be adding fuel to the flames. And I'd rather have forgettable reputation in the MMRPG community than a BAD one, and I feel like keeping this up would make up for bad reputation.

However, I WILL continue it if I end up getting enough support for it. And I don't mean a single thumbs up from Rotom, I'm going to need more support than just that. So if I do end up with just that, a thumbs up from a singular person only, then this is the end of MegaTale, permanently.
