  41. - Articuno switches in on Ice Punches and Ice Beams and beats nearly everything that doesn't have a Rock move. Salamence can switch back in on strong Fire types.
  42. - Zapdos helps win battles quickly against Water types that Salamence is unable to OHKO. A common example is Salamence OHKOing the first Pokemon at +1, then facing a Water type as the second Pokemon and doing 50-70% damage before dying to Ice Beam. Zapdos then comes in and cleans up with Thunderbolt.
  43. - Zapdos and Articuno can PP stall Rock Slides and Ancientpowers that the team otherwise struggles with. Despite this, dying to Rock moves is common because so many Rock users have Quick Claw.
