  3. [size=75]This is mainly for people, who are either new to roleplaying, rather unexperienced or unsure. What I am telling you here is something I thought was a very basic rule for roleplaying, but as that doesn't seem to apply to everyone, I will clarify.

  5. First off, it is very important to me to make clear, that I am not Opeila. Opeila has some very strong opinions, that I distance myself from. In the past someone got OOC upset over some of those opinions, which were negative about their character, and I don't want that to happen again.

  7. I created Opeila with all her qualities and flaws, knowing what I did there. From that point, every interaction is an experiment, that everyone is to some extend responsible for. Opeila acts like it makes sense for her and the only thing I have actual control over, are environmental factors. But not only I have control over those, everyone who interacts with her, plays with those factors. And it is only you, who has control over Opeila's opinions about your character. They develope in a certain direction, depending on your character's actions and no matter where we stand OOC, it does not matter IC. You carry the same IC consequences for IC actions, that everyone- anyone- else would.

  9. I am warning you right away here, that Opeila is quite direct. If she dislikes your character, she will say it into their face, amongst some more or less (likely less) nice thoughts.
  10. If you know that you are a sensitive person OOC, please be aware that you are taking the risk of a conflict, when you interact with her. Opeila is a good friend when you get on her good side, but can also be a hurtful enemy.
  11. Do not make it my responsibility, if our characters meet in an event or groupthread and do not give me a hard time or attack me, if interactions and opinions don't turn out the way you hoped. If you don't want to interact with my character in an event, it is your responsibility to act like an adult and either ignore my character or leave the event yourself. I am not interested in another discussion about drama like this, which in my opinion belongs into kindergarden and not into a conversation between adults. After all, roleplaying is fiction. If you put a lot of yourself into your character and because of that take things personal, I have to say that is not my problem. You can talk to me about it, make me aware, by all means, we can talk about it OOC, but that won't change my IC behaviour. I am not Opeila.

  13. While I am a rather calm and friendly person OOC (at least that's what I was told XP), please don't expect the same while roleplaying. I can say very openly, that I know that I get inconsiderate while roleplaying. Opeila is how she is, and when I write as her, there is simply no space for worrying how my roleplay partner could feel about it. I trust that they either know that I am not writing my character after my OOC feelings, or that come and ask me, if they are unsure. I will not kill anyone for asking me [revelio]in a friendly tone of course[/revelio] on the contrary, I am always willing to reassure.[/size]

  20. Appearance: Opeila is a quite small and skinny girl with pale skin and green eyes. Her hair is a little wavy, long and somewhere between red and brown. The colour is hard to identify sometimes.
  21. She is 147 cm tall and weighs 42 kilogramms.

  23. Personality: If you only see the small-statued, skinny girl and don't expect anymore, you are in danger to suffer under the attacks of an underestimated opponent. She definitely has a sharp tongue.
  24. Opeila is a loner. Or at least she has been. If she finds someone interesting to talk with, she does, but she is very careful with her trust most of the time. You have to earn it. Or you can count yourself lucky because she doesn't really talk about her feelings and thoughts mostly, only about the thin surface of them.
  25. On the inside the little girl is almost torn apart with anger, but she usually knows how to hide it. She is filled with hatred against so many people that shaped her the way she is now; her father, who was to cowardly to give Maybell the chance of a normal childhood. Her mother, who buried herself under her potions experiments in the cellar and would only be a mother to her when they left the house in the holidays. Her classmates at primary school, who she considered as friends but who also were the first to call her a freak. Her teachers, who always put her in some box as a child with behaviour issues. And the most, she hates herself because she can't do anything about it.
  26. What she wants the most, is a friend. Someone who would understand her, who wouldn't push her away because of something she couldn't control.

History/Background Story: Opeila Seilun was born on the 12th March 2008 in the english city Cambridge, as the first daughter of a muggle father working as a chef and the second daughter of a witch. Her squib half-sister Maybell was sent to a foster home because Opeila's father didn't want her to get in touch with magic. This would have been impossible with Opeila being what she was, not able to control her powers.
  37. So Opeila grew up without any siblings but managed to make friends in primary school. At least they were her friend before her first magical accident where she turned a bush into stone during a hide and seek game. After that accident her friends turned away from her, especially when she caught some older bullies' attention. Then Opeila was alone. All she had were her parents and the family owl that she used to talk to a lot.
  38. Still, her parents tried to give her a normal childhood at home, in the school holidays they used to travel to different countries like Spain, Greece or France. Seeing how big the world is helped Opeila a lot, because she started to understand that she would be able to escape the life she lived someday. Maybe she could find a place, where people would accept her.
  39. She saw her acceptance letter of Hogwarts as a chance but after her arrival she realized that she had no idea how to get to know someone anymore. She was scared to trust someone, but without trust there is no friendship...
