  3. | The Templar Ethos |
  4. | Duty in Courage and Integrity |
  5. +------------------------------------------+
  6.
  7. If you pass your trials and ordeals, you will become a Templar Knight.
  8.
  9. You will be sworn to fulfill the needs that this mantle brings. This
  10. title is an honour, and a declaration of what can be expected from you,
  11. from the day you don it, to the day you remove it, or your actions
  12. withdraw it from you.
  13.
  14. A Knight's duty is to protect the weak, the defenseless, the wayward
  15. and those who seek redemption.
  16.
  17. To wear the shield of a Knight is not only an honour, but a mantle and
  18. responsibility. It means you cannot ignore the calls for help. It
  19. requires that regardless of race, age, financial standing, gender, that
  20. your hands are no longer only yours, but to be contributed to the work
  21. that needs to be done.
  22.
  23. A Knight's duty is to guide, to teach, to lead not only by ideal, but
  24. by example, and to be a beacon that can be looked to when the night is
  25. at its darkest point.
  26.
  27. You are to live in a way that is befitting to this ethos, in times of
  28. work, war, peace, strife, and prosperity. To live by integrity, without
  29. manipulation or movement for personal gains. To live with resilience,
  30. and patience, in a way that honours this community and those it is
  31. responsible to.
  32.
  33. A Knight's duty is to listen, and to understand, and to seek Truth
  34. despite the din, distractions or comfort of chaos,
  35. Corruption and Artifice.
  36.
  37. You are bound to uphold the law, to live in its spirit, and strive
  38. for what is right, even when it comes with discomfort. You may not
  39. assist in the harm or evasion of justice. To show courage in the face
  40. of conflict, and to respect not only yourself and this guild, but those
  41. you serve, you work alongside, and face.
  42.
  43. You are bound by your honour and your word - your actions will build or
  44. diminish your merit. Act in such a way that when you face the
  45. Underhalls, you need not be ashamed, or know regret.
  46.
  47. Keep these values in your heart. Use them as guides, for when the world
  48. is strained, and in hardship, and the dark. These will not fail you if
  49. you interpret them with humanity. A Knight's duty is to serve.
