Going from left to right: Mane Scribe Pan Sear, an elderly mare with an orange coat and white mane touched in light green, Elder Slow Roast, his grey coat and white mane in what spots aren't balding, the stallion with a cream coat and black mane in the fine suit complete...

[2013-12-21 20:28:59] * Emerald_Blitz looks over to Militus, then back to the Mane Scribe. She looks very uncertain as to what's going on, since they've already given their report...
[2013-12-21 20:29:37] * Clue fidgets slightly. She doesn't like all these eyes looking at her so much.

I am Pan Sear, Mane Scribe for this branch of the Steel Rangers. Slow Roast" she gestures to the balding stallion "is our Elder. Stable 42 is represented by Riot Shield, Head of Security" the finely-dressed stallion tips his hat to the group "and their...
[2013-12-21 20:35:46] <CrystalDM> ...Overmare, Fine Print." The earth pony mare smiles and nods to the group. "After the pipes were brought to our attention, we talked, and we have a job offer for you. We want you all to attempt to find Stable 41."
[2013-12-21 20:36:57] * Emerald_Blitz frowns. "I believe I overheard that no one who has ever gone looking for Stable 41 has ever come back," the alicorn says. "That... doesn't seem precisely encouraging."
[2013-12-21 20:37:23] * Clue looks shocked. "But you haven't been able to find it... what makes you think we can?..."
[2013-12-21 20:37:57] <Asami> a stable is missing? uhm...last I knew stables don't get up and move on their own...
[2013-12-21 20:38:37] * Militus clears his throat. "Does anypony at least have a lead on an approximate location for the Stable we're looking for?
[2013-12-21 20:40:16] <Emerald_Blitz> "North," Emerald says helpfully. "And if that's where those... monsters we fought earlier came from, we're going to need bigger guns..."
[2013-12-21 20:41:16] * Militus quickly adds, "And swords."
[2013-12-21 20:41:24] <CrystalDM> 03Pan Sear nods. "This is true. Over the past 50 years, we occasionally send groups out to find it. However, they come back empty handed. We know it is somewhere north, and not far... 12 miles, at most."
[2013-12-21 20:41:31] * Clue 's ears droop. "...oh joy..."
[2013-12-21 20:42:48] <CrystalDM> 03Fine Print nods in agreement. "StableTec, when they were building 42 in the University, made sure it was well-known. A PR stunt, in all likelyhood. However, they understood that this could make 42 a target, so they hid the location of 41. For being a sister-Stable, we only know as Pan Sear said. And... well, that isn't important."
[2013-12-21 20:43:05] * Militus smiles. "Well, at least they've come back. Some of them, anyway. It's certainly better than the 'no survivors' line we'd been going on so far, yes?"
[2013-12-21 20:43:28] <CrystalDM> 03Riot Shield chuckles. "As for weaponry and the like, I'm sure the Rangers can open up their stocks. 42 only has non-lethal weaponry."
[2013-12-21 20:44:16] <CrystalDM> 03Slow Roast cackles. "I think they're all nuts and this idea is stupid." The other three turn to look at him, glaring. He responds by sticking out his tongue and blowing a raspberry at them.
[2013-12-21 20:44:54] <Asami> well...judging by what those crazies attacked us with...I wouldn't get your hopes up too high cause those were water pipes...and that much copper aint just layin around everywhere
[2013-12-21 20:44:54] * Emerald_Blitz takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly as she thinks. "Well, we all have skills that would be of use in such an endeavor. Militus has excellent violence, I have shielding and medicine, Clue can spot anything before it gets to us, and Asami... well, if anyone could talk one of those things down, it'd be her." She looks at the small griffon on her back. "And Tallie, if she would stay awake...
[2013-12-21 20:44:56] * Emerald_Blitz ...longer than fifteen minutes, could very well help us with any mechanical trouble we run into, should we find the stable." Emerald pauses. "Do we have some way to map our progress, should we actually find it?

[2013-12-21 20:46:11] * Clue raises an eyebrow. "...I agree with him..." She gestures to Slow Roast.
[2013-12-21 20:47:36] * Emerald_Blitz turns her head to the unicorn. "We need you, Clue," she says. "If there's anything to scout out or find, you're the best we have. And as much as I'd like for you to be able to stay here safely, we do have obligations to these ponies." She gestures at the others. "Besides, we'd miss your company if you didn't come along."
[2013-12-21 20:47:50] <CrystalDM> 03Tallie snores softly, snuggling between Emerald_Blitz's wings.
[2013-12-21 20:48:03] * Militus just smiles happily at Emerald_Blitz's description of his skillset.

[2013-12-21 20:48:40] <CrystalDM> 03Pan Sear nods to Emerald_Blitz. "None of you have an auto-mapper of some sort, do you?"
[2013-12-21 20:48:50] * Clue runs a hoof through her mane. "...I guess..."
[2013-12-21 20:50:04] <CrystalDM> 03Slow Roast looks at the dragoness and gives a wide grin. He's missing his teeth. "Oh, I didn't say that, missy. I think that the sandwiches are best kept cold."
[2013-12-21 20:50:32] * Emerald_Blitz shakes her head. "No, Mane Scribe, I'm afraid not. Wasn't fortunate enough to acquire a PipBuck, and they didn't teach cartography at the Canterlot Academy during the war." The alicorn shrugs. "I never did learn how to use a PipBuck properly anyway, so I doubt it'd be much use even if you had one to spare."
[2013-12-21 20:50:41] * Clue speaks up. "PIP-Bucks have auto-mappers..." She looks to the group, and shrugs. "Books"
[2013-12-21 20:51:47] * Asami rolls her eyes and sighs "no offense meant Mister Roast but uhm...how are you in charge of anything if you are this out of touch with reality?
[2013-12-21 20:51:55] * Clue closes her eyes and shakes her head. "...what? Sandwiches..."
[2013-12-21 20:52:02] * Militus raises an eyebrow and looks at Pan Sear. "Miss, is your esteemed Elder's hearing off perhaps?"
[2013-12-21 20:53:06] * Emerald_Blitz narrows her eyes as she looks at Slow Roast. He's definitely exhibiting odd behavior, but why? Doctor senses... tingling...
[2013-12-21 20:53:35] <CrystalDM> 03Pan Sear nods to the others. "Well, we can loan you an automapper and an ArcanoTech Port. It will be more precise, but the automapper tends to be fragile. Just giving directions would be easiest." Pan Sear shakes her head. "No... his hearing is fine, as embarrassing as that is to admit." Slow Roast laughs. "Tenure!"
[2013-12-21 20:55:24] <Asami> Tenure? heh...that may have worked way back in ye olden days...but tenure just 'cause' can get ponies kiled...and no we aint got anything but paper an pen to automap with Miss Sear
[2013-12-21 20:56:27] * Emerald_Blitz nods. "I'm not a very good survivalist, as the world has changed a great deal since I was... since I last spent time in it," she says. "The automapper may be in our best interest. If I keep it on my person, my shield will protect it, should trouble arise." She looks away from Slow Roast. "Has... he been affected by corruption heavily?" she asks Pan Sear.
[2013-12-21 20:57:57] <CrystalDM> 03Pan Sear nods and makes a note of it. "No, he hasn't. Just suffering from old age, as rare as that is." Slow Roast turns his attention from Asami and looks over at Clue. "See, she has the right idea."
[2013-12-21 20:59:27] * Asami glances over at Emerald and winks at her , or trying to discretely at least...making a subtle gesture and hoping Emerald understands her paws
[2013-12-21 20:59:47] <Emerald_Blitz> "Dementia, perhaps specifically Alzheimer's," Emerald says sadly. "Not terribly common in Equestria, but it happened to the old sometimes. Less so now that ponies don't tend to live as long." The alicorn looks back at Asami and nods.
[2013-12-21 21:02:13] <CrystalDM> 03Riot Shield rolls his eyes at the Elder's antics while Fine Print pulls up a clipboard and pencil. "Alright. An automapper then. We are willing to part with one and the ArcanoTech Port, we just have a few documents you need to sign. We are willing, should this search take multiple days, to offer you a place to sleep, food, and any medical assistance you need."
[2013-12-21 21:03:06] * Militus muses. "So, we go out to search during the day and rest here at night? Seems an agreeable arrangement."
[2013-12-21 21:03:38] <Clue> "The cats' got it with the salad?" Clue blurts.
[2013-12-21 21:03:47] <Asami> if its 12 miles from here...we can't just trot back and forth...thats a long distance to cover
[2013-12-21 21:04:12] * Emerald_Blitz nods graciously. "That would be most kind of you. In these troubled times, a place to lay our heads is most appreciated. Especially one free of those... troubling dreams," she says with a small frown. Then she looks at Clue and the Elder. "Butterscotch never remedies the spring," she adds sagely.
[2013-12-21 21:05:00] <CrystalDM> 03Slow Roast snorts, laughing. "Only when the dog is flying!" The elder turns to look at Emerald_Blitz... and his laughing ceases. "Hrmph. Seems the game is up. What gave me away?"
[2013-12-21 21:06:36] * Clue lays down and puts her hooves over her head. "My brain is hurt"
[2013-12-21 21:07:10] <Emerald_Blitz> "Our dragon is a bit of a people person," Emerald says. "Not to mention that classic Alzheimers is more of a state of forgetfulness and living in the past, than random rambling. Would you care to explain the ruse? We are trying to help you, not play mind games," she adds coldly.

[2013-12-21 21:10:19] <CrystalDM> 03The Elder nods. "I apologize for the ruse. I wanted to take a measure of you all as a group, see if you could really perform the task we are asking. What we want you to do is something we haven't be able to do in quite some time." The stallion's tone is a gentle bass, no longer crackling with harshness.

"So while I am uncertain that we are capable of finding the Stable, we can at the very least try." She looks to Asami. "And if we can follow the trail of murderous psychopaths, they very well may lead us back there." She nudges Clue gently. "Stand up, dear, or people are going to use you as...

[2013-12-21 21:13:20] * Emerald_Blitz looks back at Asami. "I think she meant that they were the original denizens of the Stable, not that they merely visited and acquired weaponry."
[2013-12-21 21:13:39] <CrystalDM> 03Pan Sear nods. "We'd appreciate you keeping this a secret. We've let it leak out that Slow Roast has been losing his mind for quite sometime." The elder nods to the dragoness. "We are hoping that isn't the case... we are hoping that they found a stash of pipes for building the Stable, and that is what you will find. If you do find the Stable, and it is open... well, if you have the...
[2013-12-21 21:13:39] <CrystalDM> ...chance, destroy them. Any Stable, once properly cleaned, works well as a hospital for the wounded."

[2013-12-21 21:14:50] <Asami> why would stable dwellers go psycho?  makes more sense it got overran than they themselves went crackers..but we can find out either way...ohmm I dunn suppose you lot have a known or estimate of how many 41 was designed to hold?
[2013-12-21 21:14:54] * Militus nods. "Indeed, there is precious little to be done with raiders otherwise. Be sure that we'll let none survive should we find their den."

I suggest bigger guns and more armor." She turns to the Elder. "What manner of...

[2013-12-21 21:34:10] * Clue mutters to herself. "...reminds me I have to pick up some paint..."
[2013-12-21 21:35:56] * Emerald_Blitz frowns. "I don't want to get paint on my lovely coat," she says, looking at the Neapolitan jacket. "Perhaps a length of camouflage netting would be better in my case." She nods to the assembled leadership. "All right. Let's do that. We still have other locales to warn of the corrupt creatures, so if we cannot find it in short order, we may need to come back later."
[2013-12-21 21:37:15] <CrystalDM> 03The elder nods. "Well, it seems like everything is in order then. If you all will head down with Pan Sear, she'll take you to where you need to go." The elder stands up, looking to the group. "Any other questions?"

[2013-12-21 21:37:57] <Emerald_Blitz> "You did fail to mention recompense, if any is available beyond use of your facility to sleep in," Emerald says.
[2013-12-21 21:38:20] * Militus snaps out of what seems to be a serious daydream before shaking his head.

[2013-12-21 21:39:33] <CrystalDM> 03The Elder chuckles. "Hrm... give me some time to think about that, Captain. I'm sure I can find something that will appeal to you and the others."
[2013-12-21 21:41:40] * Emerald_Blitz nods. "Then we should be off. I wonder if they make clothing in my size, or at least something approaching clothing," Emerald wonders out loud as she turns and heads for the equipment room to get camo paint for everyone.

[2013-12-21 21:42:43] * Militus follows along, still seemingly lost in thought.
[2013-12-21 21:44:14] <CrystalDM> 03Pan Sear joins Emerald, showing her the way. "Our scribes can handle camouflaging your group's gear. If there is anything you all would like to do, we can try and help you out with it."

[2013-12-21 21:44:47] * Clue speaks up. "...could we... not go today?..."
[2013-12-21 21:47:00] <CrystalDM> 03Pan Sear nods. "Well... it will take a full day to fit Asami for the armor and make it."
[2013-12-21 21:48:25] <CrystalDM> 03The mare thinks for a moment. "We... do need help with another job. Its... menial, but it won't take you more than 50 feet outside the Headquarters."
[2013-12-21 21:48:47] * Clue smiles. "Good. I need to learn a spell today is all"
[2013-12-21 21:49:23] * Emerald_Blitz nods. "Clue said she needs time to learn a spell, and I have some research of my own to do, but I don't mind assisting," she tells the mare. "Good hard labor never hurt anyone important." She smiles. "And to be honest, I'm getting a little claustrophobic in here, what with nothing being constructed to accomodate... ponies my size."
[2013-12-21 21:50:17] * Militus pipes up, apparently having regained some life. "If you'll excuse me, I'd like to go visit this facility's pub, or its closest approximation."
[2013-12-21 21:52:34] <CrystalDM> 03"The bodies from yesterday's attack... none of them were corrupted, at least, not to dangerous levels. However, they still need to be gathered, and burned. If you can help gather them, that would be extremely helpful." The mare turns to Militus, nodding. "Well, there is The Lounge, down in 42. Its the only bar in... 30 miles?"
[2013-12-21 21:53:40] * Militus nods. "That will do. I assume the Rangers visit there as well?"
[2013-12-21 21:53:59] * Emerald_Blitz nods to Pan Sear. "It shouldn't take too long, and will give me an idea of how many objects I can lift simultaneously," she says, her horn glowing a bit. "As long as I have cover to run to if more attack, I am happy to assist." She looks around. "Just, hem, point me in the right direction."
[2013-12-21 21:58:27] <CrystalDM> 03Pan Sear nods and gives directions for Militus to The Lounge, and Emerald_Blitz is given directions to get outside and assist moving the bodies. Clue can easily find Feather Fall waiting for her, and she takes Clue down to the orchard to learn spells. Asami spends the next few hours getting measured for new armor.
[2013-12-21 21:58:58] * Militus heads off to the lounge, following Pan Sear's directions.
[2013-12-21 22:00:29] * Emerald_Blitz heads out and experiments with seeing how large of objects, and how many objects, she can sustain in her telekinetic field at one time as she clears the field of the fallen... very careful not to actually touch any as she begins stacking them for cremation.
[2013-12-21 22:01:13] <CrystalDM> 03The Lounge has about a dozen folks in it, a mixture of rangers and stable ponies inside, along with a stable pony bartender.
[2013-12-21 22:02:26] * Militus carefully scans the room, trying to spot Night Rose among the Rangers.
[2013-12-21 22:03:42] <CrystalDM> 03The zebra can easily find Night Rose, nursing a scotch in a corner booth. Alone.
[2013-12-21 22:05:08] * Militus walks up to the counter and beckons the bartender over.
[2013-12-21 22:06:29] <CrystalDM> 03It doesn't take much to figure out the maximum number of objects Emerald_Blitz can lift, and the various ponies who are moving bodies are happy for the help.
[2013-12-21 22:07:49] <CrystalDM> 03The bartender, a white unicorn with a nice orange mane and lovely orange handlebar moustache nods to Militus. "What can I get you?"
[2013-12-21 22:07:53] <Emerald_Blitz> In addition to her manual, well, magical-manual labor, Emerald also draws several blood samples from the most heavily-corrupted looking raiders, and a few from the others as well. What WERE those drugs they were on? She'll soon know.
[2013-12-21 22:08:00] * Clue spends her time with Feather Fall learning Sheild and Toughen Hide, but can't muster up enough friendship to get down the basics of Bonds of Friendship.
[2013-12-21 22:08:36] * Militus nods to Night Rose. "Anything you can tell me about that scribe there, and a beer. If you please."

After spending about an hour running tests on the blood samples, she finds evidence that the attackers were on two drugs, not three. The first drug was Dash. The second drug seemed to mimic the effects of Buck and Rage... but the magi-chemical analysis also triggers a warning that the drugs were...

If the raiders keep taking these drugs in quantity, they're going to have to deal with manifestations again... The alicorn tsks as she adjust her lab goggles, and draws a sample of her own blood for analysis too. One doesn't just become a princess overnight, not for no reason...

[2013-12-21 22:30:49] * Emerald_Blitz sighs frustratedly. She fiddles with the machine, looking for any options for or records of Princesses Cadence or Twilight Sparkle. If she really IS a princess, this would tell her.

[2013-12-21 22:36:47] * Clue shakes her head and smiles. "It's not a her. He taught... well... tried to teach me a spell... I have to practice that some as well... back in Crystal Crossing. He's the one who gave me the lily. I just thought I'd return the gesture is all"
[2013-12-21 22:37:38] * Militus sips his beer. "Answers. You're not keen on me, and I'd like to know why."
[2013-12-21 22:38:34] <Emerald_Blitz> "Ugh!" Emerald grunts, banging her head on the lab table. She lifts a hoof and hits "Yes."
[2013-12-21 22:38:35] <CrystalDM> 03Feather Fall nods. "Oh, alright. Well, The Rack isn't that far." Feather Fall gives Clue directions to the store, taking her time so Clue doesn't get lost. Not sure why she had to stand so closely and give those directions, though.

[2013-12-21 22:39:29] * Clue gives Feather Fall a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks," she says before heading off to buy things.

[2013-12-21 22:40:38] <CrystalDM> 03The terminal starts working, and a nearby printer prints off a small map and address for the Ministry of Peace.

[2013-12-21 22:41:37] * Militus stares back. "I do. Asking around I'm starting to think you may know something and it's connected to why you don't like me or any other zebra."

[2013-12-21 22:44:21] * Emerald_Blitz takes the map and looks at it. Two locations... neither of which are close. She grumpily tucks it in her saddlebags and wanders off. She needs a drink, or something else to do. Waiting around for the rest of the day will drive her nuts. She heads back toward the Atrium to look around.

[2013-12-21 22:51:31] <CrystalDM> 03Feather Fall stops herself from bowing and stands back up. "Yes... she's quite the quick learner." The crystal mare is still blushing slightly.

[2013-12-21 22:52:30] * Emerald_Blitz of course can't help but notice that. It's practically radiant on crystal ponies. "Ah. Teach her anything else, did you?" Emerald says with a sly sideways smile, gesturing at the scribe's face. "You're glowing. Something... good happen?"

[2013-12-21 23:00:18] <CrystalDM> 03It isn't hard to get lost in a university building. Asami succeeds in just that... and somehow makes her way to two armed ponies, guarding a door at the top of a stairwell. "Can we help you?"
[2013-12-21 23:00:46] * Emerald_Blitz nods. "Very good. I'll be about my business. I need to ask her if she's ever been to the Ministry of Peace," the alicorn says. She turns tail and heads that direction. "At ease, Scribe. And go splash some cold water on your face before you spontaneously combust~"
[2013-12-21 23:01:07] <CrystalDM> 03Night Rose frowns and shrugs. "Whatever. I was on my way back from serving on the southern wall and they ambushed me. Kicked my flank in, shouted at me in Zebrican, and then left."
[2013-12-21 23:01:31] * Asami stops in her tracks and nodsnods to the two ponies "I uhm...uhh..err...could you two kind ponies tell me where the heck I've gotten myself lost at in here?

[2013-12-21 23:03:38] <CrystalDM> 03"No. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone loves the Steel Rangers." The scribe rolls his eyes and takes a sip of the scotch.
[2013-12-21 23:03:57] <CrystalDM> 03Clue does not succeed in finding Feather Fall. She instead finds Emerald_Blitz.
[2013-12-21 23:04:08] <Asami> erf...well I thought this was the way to the quartermaster...could one of you take me there or at least tell me at what point I missed the turn I obviously needed to take?
[2013-12-21 23:05:15] * Emerald_Blitz almost bumps into Clue, and takes a step back. "Oh, hello Clue," Emerald says, "I was just looking for you. I bumped into Feather Fall a moment ago, and she said you went gift shopping."
[2013-12-21 23:05:28] <Asami> no offense butuhh...everything down here looks the same
[2013-12-21 23:05:30] <CrystalDM> 03"Eeeenope. Can't leave our post. But, you are fairly close." They proceed to give Asami directions to the Quartermaster.
[2013-12-21 23:06:05] * Asami will attempt to get there with the newfound directions!
[2013-12-21 23:06:47] <CrystalDM> 03Asami has no issues making it to the Quartermaster. She should have taken that left instead of that right at the Albuquerque room.
[2013-12-21 23:06:56] * Clue raises an eyebrow in question. "Oh? In what room did you see her?" Clue starts to blush at the last statement made my Emerald_Blitz. "...yes... I bought something for a friend... need to return the favour is all..."
[2013-12-21 23:07:04] * Militus 's features twist in disgust. "It sounds about like them to attack a target of opportunity. I don't suppose you can recall anything they said?"

She shakes her head. "Why does everyone assume he's a she? I met him in Crystal Crossing. He gave me a gift. I feel I need to return the gift"

The alicorn looks at Clue. "Well, I hope your friend enjoys his gift, then. What did you get him?" she asks, peering over Clue's shoulder at her saddlebags.
[2013-12-21 23:13:16] * Militus swallows hard. "They were looking for a traitor of some kind. Why they thought you knew where he was I don't know."

Especially ones you don't mean." She swishes her tail and begins walking away. "I know how stallions think better than you might imagine... and some gifts are open to interpretation."

[2013-12-21 23:18:12] * Militus heads to Maintenance. Might as well see if anypony's there.

[2013-12-21 23:20:36] * Emerald_Blitz watches Clue go, puzzled. She shakes her head and returns to the orchard to get some peace and quiet.
[2013-12-21 23:23:10] <CrystalDM> 03Militus makes his way down to maintenance, finding Kivuli and Bolt playing cards. Ah, its good to be maintenance in a well-maintained Stable.
[2013-12-21 23:24:38] * Militus raps on the door. "Do either of you mind if I come in? I've learned a few things about everyone's least favorite scribe."
[2013-12-21 23:27:04] * Asami spends a good amount of time selecting the perfect suit of armor...aka the thickest stuff the stable has!, then having it sent up to Shield to get modded for her short stature

[2013-12-21 23:28:59] * Emerald_Blitz looks around for the little dragon that she is growing to respect more than she'd initially thought. If they're going to go into a possibly dangerous place filled with raiders who can shrug off shotgun shells, she needs a better gun...
[2013-12-21 23:29:29] * Militus trots up, smiling wanly. "I'm afraid I'm not in the mood to bet any of my caps." He sits with a sigh. "It would seem that scribe Rose was attacked by zebras. That was why he was found badly beaten and why he hates us so much."

[2013-12-21 23:35:52] * Militus looks at Kivuli. <Needless to say, I think we should perhaps leave him alone. He's already suffered enough.>

[2013-12-21 23:38:13] * Emerald_Blitz nods to Asami. "I meant to thank you for your quick thinking back there," she says, offering a hoof to help Asami up if the dragon wants a ride. "Without your quick thinking, I wouldn't have thought to look deeper into that matter earlier." She looks at the other ponies in the room, then at Asami again conspiritorially.
[2013-12-21 23:38:26] * Militus nods to Bolt. "Yes...let's just say that your Rangers are not the only military that survived the war."

She turns and sees Clue. "Oh. Seems you had much the same idea."
