  1. Services to the face and above the neck are allowed indoors and outdoors in Santa Clara County. Businesses are required to read and follow the mandatory directives for personal care services at sccgov.org/cv19business. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
  2. 1. Minimize time providing services
  3. 2. Esthetician/cosmetologist and clients must always wear a face covering while services are being performed.
  4. 3. If a service requires customers to remove face coverings, a esthetician/cosmetologist is required to wear the N95 mask.
  5. a. Examples of such services include: facial hair removal or treatment; beard trimming or face shaving; facials and face massages; and other personal care services to the extent they require the client to remove or adjust a face covering, but only for the minimum time and to the minimum degree necessary to receive the service. Clients must put their face covering back on as soon as they are able to, and must wear a face covering while waiting for their service, walking to and from the treatment area, visiting the restroom, and at all other times while at the facility.
  6. 4. These requirements only apply to above the neck services. Employees and customers in nail and hair salons are required to wear face covering at all times.
  7. 5. All business owners must complete and submit social distancing protocol and follow County’s and State’s Mandatory directives for personal care services, available at www.sccgov.org/cv19business.
