Nishiki/Kamui 1st part

The sun was shining, but it was raining at the same time.

"Nishiki-san's tribe has a custom of holding weddings during sun showers." Sakura explained as she helped her prepare.

Though Kamui and her siblings had succeeded in taking down King Garon, Hoshido was still sore over the conflict, and threatened to retaliate. Nohr was still recovering from the loss of its leader, even if Marx's ascension to the throne was met with near universal praise. A renewed conflict was not what it needed.

Hoshido's demand was "thankfully" rather simple: The return of Princess Kamui via an arranged marriage to someone in their kingdom.
Despite the protests of her siblings, she agreed.

The Hoshido royal family had a somewhat mixed reaction to her arrival. Mikoto was happy to see her, but she seemed lonelier than she had before. Ryouma smiled at her, but it felt less warm than the one he'd given her when they first met. Hinoka seemed rather sad, but forced herself to remain composed. Takumi treated her with contempt and only spoke to her when he absolutely had to. Sakura was the only one who was unquestionably happy to see her, and seemed pleased that she'd be marrying one of her comrades.

"Nishiki-san was a strong ally of ours! We might not have been able to push Nohr back without him."

She seemed oblivious to the fact that Kamui didn't really share her joy.

It wasn't until the wedding that she met her groom-to-be. Nishiki was handsome, certainly, but he seemed rather sly and that was enough to put Kamui on edge.

Her siblings in Nohr were not permitted to attend the wedding. A part of her wanted to argue, but another part was relieved that they wouldn't see her like this.

The celebration went on into the night, but it did eventually come to an end when Ryouma (who seemed slightly intoxicated) declared that the newlyweds should be left alone.

Kamui was led to the sleeping chambers and found herself alone with her new husband.
