  1. The sky darkened. Great clouds spread across the sky, covering the sun, and then in a lightning strike, there Queen Vanarya Kyros was, idly brushing herself off as the clouds vanished as quickly as they had appeared. Was it necessary? No. Was it cool? Yes. Van was the Queen of Alteros, she could have a dramatic entrance every once in a while if she wanted one. The Queen strolled lightly around the immediate area of the garden. She'd appproved it quite a while ago, but had not visited it before. Until now, that was.
  2.
  3. Perhaps it was boredom, or the desire to see the fruit of her new stepdaughter's labours. Whatever the case, here the Oscuri found herself, frowning lightly as she surveyed the area. The spores filled the air were softly blown away with a small demonstration of her aerokinesis as soon as the Queen began to notice them. She could have sworn one of the conditions of the Garden being built was no homicidal plants.
  4. (Vanarya Kyros)
  5. Bandit: You ready to die?!
  6. There came a moment of shock at the presence of a royal.
  7.
  8. The bolt of lightning that struck in the midst of this garden met with hands placed firmly over the ringing now present in the ears of this child. For someone with so much power and influence over such a region, you could think for a moment that they would be able to make an entrance far more grand without potentially bursting the eardrums of every child that waddled throughout this garden. Though that was far besides the point, with a gaze lifting upwards he found himself simply staring in silence at this monolith of power that had allowed such children to grow as they deemed fit.
  9.
  10. "Hello, Queen!" His words escaping with a swift tilt of his head so abrupt to follow, staring back towards this woman with constant sparks flying from her form as this proof of her strength remained visible before them. There were questions as to why she held business with anyone in this garden, though one seemed to stand out far above any of the rest.
  11.
  12. "Why are you here?"
  13.
  14. Ah yes, what no doubt everyone was thinking.
  15. (Layne)
  16. Homicidal plants? If only. The spores that floated through the air gave an air of sleepiness, but that was very much likely due to the fact that the leader there herself was something that was very much tired all of the time. You got what you gave, and in th grand scheme of things? Rosie gave a lot of exhaustion beyond all else.
  17.
  18. There was a grand many people that roamed through the rows upon rows within the garden, and despite any kind of spores that floated through the air, there were many more than capable of brushing it off-- just as the Queen hehrself did.
  19.
  20. Speaking of-- the crack and thunder of lightning echoing through the air soon caused the pre-teen to now sit upwards, vines twisting and wrapping around her arms as she gave off an audible gasping sound.
  21.
  22. Shaking breaths wracked her shoulders as she looked around, bringing her fingers to her forehead there lightly as she groaned in her exhaustion. "I..." Blearily, she shook her head from side to side, soon glancing up toward the Oscuri Queen, struggling to settle her alerted mana sights. The flow of Rieka was certainly abundant, and staring at it was like staring into a blazing inferno of magical propency.
  23.
  24. "Oh," a motion and she would soon stagger her form upwards, coming to a stand as she would brush off her clothes. If the Queen was here, then she couldn't just be as sleepy as she always was, could she?
  25.
  26. "Hihi, Miss Queen Oscuri Kyros!"
  27.
  28. Her lips curled into a delightful little smile. "Or uh-- Do I... call you something else? I'm not sure. You're..." With her creator. With her 'father' for all intents and purposes.
  29.
  30. "Errr, probably a bad question. I'm glad you're here to visit the Garden! Isn't it pretty?"
  31. (Rosalie)
  32. He found himself turning ever so slightly away from Artos as storm clouds brewed and in an electric surge and grandeur display of power, that did not seem all that necessary the Queen of New Alteros arrived. His yellow eyes observed her figure from a distance and he motioned at Artos to perhaps be mindful.
  33.
  34. The youth paused for a moment, as many greeted her. This was his first time of course coming face to face with Royalty so it was. . . strange nonetheless to see it here in such a form.
  35.
  36. It was too bad he was still waiting for neary six years now for his application to finish itself. The king Aamon was becoming more and more of an elusive figure in his head, while this person here was tangent and real.
  37.
  38. "So that's what royalty looks like?" he muttered to himself, though not too softly.
  39. (Moa)
  40. With the appearance of the Queen, the Sarradian is sure to be one of the first to appear-- as one who so strongly desired to use the same magic as her...
  41.
  42. Yet, one who had such difficulties with finding the appropriate time to try and learn from her, and hadn't even -- really, met her... He seems extremely excited despite having wanted to meet her -- becoming slightly impatient at some points, for several years!
  43.
  44. No problem now though, since there was a chance for him-- Zephyr is quick to speak up.
  45.
  46. "Is the Queen..! Ooh, Queen-lady." He gushes, seeming to be in awe-- the Sarradian tries to observe the fading bits of her dramatic entrance-- the residue of storm magic..!
  47.
  48. "... Am have never met before..!" He exclaims-- with lightning flickering about his body in an energetic manner, he almost appears to bow. "Am Zephyr..!"
  49. (Zephyr)
  50. Who was she, a being so graceful and yet demonstrating such power paired with authority. The darkening clouds ebbed dispersing from the sky and allowing the rays of luminescent light to pierce through illuminating the garden once more.
  51. Others seemed taken by her strut, Artos himself knew nothing of the women, but even Moa had approached to which he followed. With a quick whisper traveling through the wind, he answered a query with a simple "No, I don't." and that simply ended it.
  52.
  53. The garden began to swarm with individuals, the uniqueness present upon the myriad was notable, but he said nothing and remained silent. As he listened he gained a bit of insight, she was the queen of a land, by the viridescent armor she displayed he could only assume it was of New Alteros, surprising he knew not the lands royals, this was a good chance to partake in introduction. Moa aside him granted him the courage to speak alongside fellow patrons, "Greetings, Queen. To what do we owe this honor?" he inquired hoping to remain as mannered as possible. These situations had a tendency to end badly for him, typically due to his passionate expressions only bolstered by a fervent Vessalius, but he was not here now.
  54.
  55. (Artos Azer)
  56. The Queen was no quite expecting to be more or less swarmed by children within moments of appearing, but it appeared that is what happened. Perhaps she would send Tiberius out this way at some point, he could certainly use some friends. Noting with some degree of amusement that she seemed to have dazzled several of the young ones with her entrance, the Queen let a small smile slip onto her lips. First her focus moved to Rosalie. "Hello child. You don't need to treat me with any formality, given my new Husband is your father." A quick glance around was enough of a reminder that the rest of them were not afforded that privilege. "And yes, it is pretty."
  57.
  58.
  59.
  60. An eyebrow is raised towards the Neries. "Yes, it is." she answers his question, ears sharpened by years of honing her senses picking up on the mutter. The Sarradian is greeted differently, the Queen holding out a hand to feel his electrical energy. "Impressive. You'll be a power mage some day." Honestly she had no idea whether or not that was true, but she was feeling somewhat more cheerful today.
  61.
  62.
  63.
  64. Finally, the Queen answered both Layne and Artos' question, although Artos' was phrased more agreeably to the monarch. "I'd yet to visit this garden, despite giving it my approval years ago. I thought it time to remedy that."
  65.
  66.
  67.
  68.
  69. (Vanarya Kyros)
  70. It was only natural for those within the garden to grow excited about the arrival of royalty within the grove's deeper keeps, but alas... It was fine. It was right, and proper for someone to come check up and visit them in their moments here. Though, perhaps it was prudent to give the Queen a little bit of a shock of her own, right? "Did'ja bring Tibby with ya?" She chirped as she looked around, half expecting to see the smaller Oscuri child to waddle out somewhere along the lines, punching and smashing alllll the way.
  71.
  72. "I figure he'd come along an' all! But oh, guess not."
  73.
  74. It seemed that the Kyros had something to be thankful for in the fact that her son actually was making friends. Pinky-promise and shared flower type of friends, and all!
  75.
  76. Good on him, right?
  77.
  78. Moving her way forward, it took a good amount of energy and nerve for the emaciated girl to motion forward, but she did not seem to stop any less-- no, rather, she would halt there in front of the woman, and she would cup her hands together if only for a moment before she spoke: "I ain't really ever had a Mom, so I guess I'll call y'that, but it might be weird. I ain't got much'a problem witth it as long as everyone can keep comin' to th'garden an' bein' friends here."
  79.
  80. Parting her fingers slowly but surely, a blossoming of electric blue morning glory flowers would sprout free of her fingers before she would offer the bouquet upwards to the Oscuri.
  81.
  82. It felt strange being the odd child out of a family of Oscuri, but she was the odd child no matter where she managed to turn.
  83.
  84. "They ain't gonna die, an' I kinda used th'color of lightnin'. Y'already got a bunch of green t'ya, but I think y'gotta have some kinda variety, yeah?"
  85.
  86. A glance back and forth at those all present, though!
  87.
  88. "I'm sure Zephy'll be a big fan'a yours, too. 'Cause he really wants to be the storm, too."
  89. (Rosalie)
  90. The Sarradian is in awe-- he'd never truly had an audience with the Queen, but this was his time-- the Queen was before him, and she'd even noticed him -- senpai noticed him!! owo
  91.
  92. She'd declared that he would become a powerful mage-- something he was surely aware of with the path that he was trying to go down. After letting Rosalie finish speaking, he'd chime in himself with his own few questions -- his own few remarks, trying to see if he could convince the Queen to teach him what he wished to learn.
  93.
  94. "... Are trying to learn the storm magics, are.. Um, able to teach? Already knows how, but Magic circuits are always doing the hurting for some reason.." He says. With that, he makes a quick attempt-- a hand arcs through the air before him, allowing black, lightning-infused clouds to brew after it in a trail-- however, his hand retracts quite quickly; storm magic drained-- if not, fried his circuits after all.
  95.
  96. It was unfortunate, and something he had to keep working towards fixing up.
  97. (Zephyr)
  98. He paused for a moment as it seemed the gathering of people was getting a it out of hand. He was not . . .good with these particular things. The aristocracy in particular filled him with a sense of awkwardness that was hard to dissipate.
  99.
  100. The youth moved towards a bunch of flowers and sat quietly within a bed of varied flora. While most seemed to conglomerate around the Queen her bearing made him more and more nervous. Yet from the gist of the conversation it seemed Rosalie was. . .going to or was currently now royalty through relations.
  101.
  102. The mana the queen exhuded was. . .tasty to a degree. It was different and he had subconsciously tasted a bit of it while she was speaking. Suddenly an idea popped in his head, and his eyes brightened.
  103.
  104. "Are you looking for guardsmen!??!?" He questioned realizing he had blurted the question out, his face became somewhat pale. He wasn't sure when Aamon or the guards of New Alteros would look at his application, it had been six years, so why not gain some experience through other means?
  105. (Moa)
  106. Her leer demanded respect, understandable, one as prominent in the land of New Alteros deserved as such. He listened to her speak, addressing each and every patron with a smidge of her time, responding swiftly and blunt, yet there was an undertone of relish to her, a particular enjoyment he couldn't quite comprehend? Was it the attention, likely, or maybe it was simply offset merriment which attributed to her mood?
  107.
  108. Nonetheless she was relatively well-spoken and lacked an aggressiveness keen in Batkem and the Cinderfallen, he enjoyed that quality, peace was something he commonly sought, his aforementioned philosophy on the notion put him at odds with the followers of Kraus but at times that very ideology brought tribulation to his less political world despite his hues. He pondered this for a moment wondering what caused such aggression, but his thoughts were led astray by invasive words spat from the mouth of his brother, Moa.
  109.
  110. "Are you looking for a guardsmen..?"
  111.
  112. The question rang blitzing his consciousness with a bombardment of moral and political queries derived from the ideal of betrayal, had that been the case. Moa always seemed devout to the cause of Neries and their ploy, but it wasn't uncharacteristic of him to seek other means of attaining his goal, his hastiness amazed him, yet it was unsettling, one with great strength such as he, to align with another nation… what did that say for Nostvale's militia? One couldn't interpret the future, least the child had not the skill to, but he refrained from interjection preferring to remain neutral, employing social pacifisms was likely the best option in the end.
  113.
  114. (Artos Azer)
  115. Vessalius did not know much about New Alteros so he wanted to explore much more, Lenore told him enough about it so he could actually be interested but people who respected Azrael and worshipped him much more than him. Hell that was inspiration enough. He needed to find more people like this. The Bulwark green made him feel like he was home, shining same color as his Deep lines of Reika made him feel comfortable. He needed to go find a bulwark to talk to him.
  116.
  117. He walked into some people who normally patrolled the lands and they did not offer much but telling him to look around at the gardens or the castle. Looking towards the castle, he shook his head to Bygonegrove gardens then as he thanked them walking away.
  118.
  119. Slowly moving through the dense trees avoiding bandits and the weaker yokai he did not want to fight walking into such a beautiful area past the treehouse of pure depravity to see someone dressed in the same green color, He did not approach them slolwy moving forward he seen his brother asking to be a guardsmen who was this person ? Were they a powerful Bulwark or much more.
  120.
  121. Walking up to his brother he sat quietly and waited for attention to be brought on him by the small Oscuri child.
  122. (Vessalius Xerxes)
  123. So...many...children. The Oscuri Queen gave a shake of her head at Rosalie's question regarding Tiberius, and tried not to feel awkward about being called 'mom'. She accepted to bouquet with a soft smile towards the young girl, before turning to Zephyr. He'd asked her to teach him Storm Magic, mentioning pain in his mana circuits. She barely managed to surpress a snort. "I've not got time for students, but I'd advise getting struck by lightning in a natural storm, and trying to channel it. Painful, but thats how I started." That was a long time ago, but that she still accurately remembered it was a testament of how much it hurt.
  124.
  125. And then there was a Neries asking if she was looking for guardsmen. A calculating look settled on her face as she quickly guessed him to be old enough. "The Bulwark is always recruiting. You seem old enough to join." Whatever Artos thought, it was not betrayal of Nostvale to join the Alterosi army. In fact, it was akin to joining the Legion, given the two cities had been allied for decades. Had it reached a century yet? Vanarya could not be bothered to wrack her brain for the historical knowledge to answer the question.
  126.
  127.
  128. She shifted slightly, surveying the garden somewhat more. It was indeed very pretty. She did not regret approving it, so long as Sanseveria kept his influence out of it. If not...well, drawing water out of plantlife was effective weedkiller, so to speak.
  129. (Vanarya Kyros)
  130.
  131. It was something awkward all around.
  132.
  133. Though, perhaps it was just better that Marula had found someone that Rosalie actually wanted and had to show respect towards to marry. If it had been the one woman whom he had thrown down a well, it probably would not have gone so smoothly to begin with. As the woman accepted the electric blue flowers, she gave a bob of her head as she looked around at all those present. It was a bit weird that Tiberius wouldn't have tagged along, but...
  134.
  135. One day she'd have to collect her energy just enough to make him come back and hang out! Woo.
  136.
  137. "Y'gotta lot'a questions from th'others, so I ain't gonna bother y'too much." A twirl and she soon allows vines to catch a hold of her body, wrapping her up and holding her like a chair there as she sat on, quietly observing the scene at hand.
  138.
  139. "But yeh, glad t'see y'came t'see finally! Hopefully it ain't th'last time, 'cause we're gonna do big and awesome things." As soon as they weren't, you know, poised and ready to flounder beneath of the weight of ten million baby negative DR fests.
  140.
  141. Whoop.
  142.
  143. "Have fun, Mom! Don't let th'others drive y'nuts or nothin' like that."
  144.
  145. And with that, she'd do as any omniscent present would in their domain, and she'd observe allll corners of the place in one go. Huzzah.
  146. (Rosalie)
  147. His arms hang by his side, though his fingers intertwine to tent as he ponders on what to say next with the Queen's suggestion-- perhaps it was a way to go about it... But perhaps he could try other methods, too. She didn't have time to teach him, or take on a student, but there were surely other methods!
  148.
  149. "... Maybe could zap me with the storm magic? Am taught friend lightning magic like that. Are Sarradian, so sometimes -- can channel Lifeblood to protect. ... But would have to be not busy, so maybe will not work." He continues-- perhaps he was simply rambling to himself at this point, briefly-- before he thinks it over once more.
  150.
  151. "... Maybe has chance to be taught by if helps with Bulwark?" He questions, staring at her in wonder-- if he were to join the Alterosi forces..
  152.
  153. Surely, there would be a chance!
  154. (Zephyr)
  155. He paused for a moment as he heard the words of the queen, it seemed everyone had a multitude of questions and things they wanted to say.
  156.
  157. "I just wanna' join the guard." he said, regardless of Artos' inner thoughts he was well aware of the connection between Nostvale and New Alteros. The Dreamer herself had said that they had a deep connection so why if he could not obtain what he wanted in Nostvale should he not attempt to pursue it in Alteros.
  158.
  159. "er. . .wait I can't write. . .Artos fill out an application for me!" he states turning to his brethern. Sure this was a problem that needed to be addressed at some point, but he figured after he joined the guard along with practical skills and techinques he would gain a chance to get some reading and writing under his belt.
  160. (Moa)
  161. To his dismay, Moa was accepted. Essentially no, it wasn't treason to ally oneself with an army working in conjunction with their nation, but with if that wasn't the case, or one's duties were in tandem with their nation and not their homeland? It seemed in principle one should ally themselves with their nation of birth, considering Aamon was the king and a Neries at that, it seemed only rational to side with someone leading their kind to paradise, but he was not Moa, nor could he understand the complexity of the inner neural network, the stream of consciousness which cluttered his mind.
  162.
  163. In his sadness was planted a seed of joy, Vessalius had arrived. The Oscuri did well with easing the child's mind, his brash approach typically hindered the youth's own overt over thinking, a good thing given the proper circumstance. He nodded, locks of obsidian bouncing in his movements, it was the best greeting he could grant given his inner confliction, but his ignorance on the neigbouring nations and the bond between them was the cause, with information, peace of mind could be attained.
  164.
  165. Moa, still adamant asked the literate Neries to fill an application permitting his entry, was he so audacious as to deny his brother before the queen? No, of course not. So begrudgingly he accepted the request, a feigned smile spreading, and an encouraging façade as he answered. "Of course! We'll do it as soon as possible!" he exclaimed an aura of dignity eluding from the discouraging guilt.
  166.
  167. (Artos Azer)
  168. Hearing about joining the Bulwarks he smiled and got excited holding it in to himself looking at the woman he kneeled into the dirt bowing his head to the woman. His smile grew as he thought this was his opportunity to make his dreams come true.
  169.
  170. "I would love to pledge myself to the Bulwarks. I do not have much to give to you but my life. I have been trying to prepare myself for something one day. I do not know much magic and still need alot of training. I hope to bring you alot of respect to my name and more worship to the name Azrael. I have been so lost and maybe with this I will find myself and bring greatness in the worship of our Lord."
  171.
  172. He stayed kneeled hoping to get the same stamp of approval from the queen. To have much more worth to his life and help get training from the Bulwarks. To help improve himself more and show his true devotion to the Lord.
  173. (Vessalius Xerxes)
  174. Abilene whispers something.
  175. The Queen sighed. Almost instantly clouds burst into life above the garden, electricity building within it. For a moment, it seemed like the Oscuri was going to make good on the request to strike Zepthyr. That was of course, before the woman gave a slight quirk of the lips. She quickly turned her face to the others. "Joining the Bulwark is as easy as signing up in Alteros. They'll send you to me with the required documentation and I'll ratify it."
  176.
  177. Next she turned her attention to Vessalius, raising an eyebrow. "A bit young, but...accepted. Talk to the armsmen for your apparel." She gave a calculated glance at everyone before turning to Zephyr with a slight smile. "Just watch, kid." And then, before their eyes, lightning arced down, striking Vanarya's outstretched fingers before the Queen effortlessly blasted it back into the sky with her other arm, bursting into lightning herself and disappearing with nothing but a scorchmark left behind to mark her presence. Hell yeah for dramatic exits.
  178. (Vanarya Kyros)
  179.
  180. He watched for a moment as the queen nodded and gave her assent and he was filled with excitement and motivation once more. He could finally take the steps necessary to fulfill his goals, he could hopefully attain some modicum of techinques and learning by joining the bulwark!
  181.
  182. He smiles and yet even before anything else happens the Queen vanishes in a blaze of lightning leaving behind that sugary sweet taste in the air. . . .
  183.
  184. The youth yawns and realizes perhaps it is time to rest, he has relentlessly trained and tried to attain that oneness' with his weapon he so lacked. He could go to Alteros later for the items necessary. . .he heads deep into the garden to shut down.
  185. (Moa)
  186. Sighed, he felt apathetic now knowing of the path Moa would take. It seems many lost faith in the illustrious king for he was distant, separated from his people often, secluded in that castle. The weight which bore on him was cumbersome, but he'd shake it off. If Moa and Vessalius were to join, then he'd do his best to prepare the two, any form of literature or training necessary he'd aid in if it meant their progression... I guess in a way he was happy for them, odd no?
  187.
  188. With a stroke of lightning and a flash of light the Oscuri queen vanished, clouds beckoning her physical form away in but a mere instant. With her disappearance, the group which flocked vanished... Maybe it was time he did so as well.
  189. (Artos Azer)
  190. The boy himself seems to get into a stance to prepare to take an attack from storm magic-- to try and channel the power afterwards as clouds build up within the sky... Zephyr himself felt in awe of the power, yet, scared at the same time- he knew himself to be a potent magi, but what if he simply wasn't enough for it? What if this was to fry him up?
  191.
  192. ... It seemed to have been some strange, strange form of teasing him as she uses it to make a dramatic exit-- the woman had channeled the storm's power to travel within it-- and with that..
  193.
  194. ... Well, he knew something else he had to try before he could practice storm magic-- or rather, something that he had to try and do if he wanted to get it all down.
  195. (Zephyr)
