  11.
  12. The Roman Republic's first test was when the Emperor went to Berlin and met with a funny little man who had a funny little moustache. He liked to make funny little speeches and planned the annihilation of a funny little minority in order to sway his funny little people, and he was hoping to get the Emperor's aid in an upcoming funny little conflict. His funny little allies already included Japan and Spain.
  13.
  14. The Emperor had a funny little laugh with the funny little man and punched him in his funny little nose before heading back to Rome.
  15.
  16. In any event, the blitzkreig continued without Rome's aid, or perhaps because of Rome's avowed neutrality. In 1936, Germany took territory that it declared belonged to it, while others didn't do much; emboldened by that, and the fact that they had built up a military while expecting resistance, they moved into the second phase of their plan: annexing the smaller nations on the northern European coast and taking France from the east, while Spain took it from the west. This of course got them negative attention... but between Germany and France, Brittania stood very little chance. At which point the Axis' ambitions turned further afield, and with Europe seemingly locked down, they began pushing eastward.
  17.
  18. Japan's military leadership, not being well versed in what to do to prevent a heretofore neutral power from entering a war against it, decided that it should take control of all Pacific islands including Hawaii, and decided to preemptively keep the United States from disagreeing with it. Unfortunately, its surprise attack on December 7th, 1941, coincided with a joint military drill with the Roman naval forces.
  19.
  20. This ended about as predictably badly as one could imagine, and signalled the entry of both America and the Roman Republic in the war, as Rome was so insulted by this course of events that it challenged Germany and Spain to satisfaction for the attempted attack by their ally, only for the leadership of Germany to make statements that were so utterly outrageous that it spurred the nation to attack.
  21.
  22. The second World War ended with the Roman Republic taking Brittania, Spain, France, and Germany as protectorates, and the Russian leadership was extremely angry as they had been in the midst of throwing an endless number of men into the war machine in an attempt to charge toward Berlin, only to find themselves stopped at Warsaw by the Roman legions.
  23.
  24. Japan surrendered when the Roman navy, in joint operations with America, took all of Japan's Pacific holdings... and then managed to get Bharat (India) to join the allies, in order to keep the devil they know over the devil they didn't - Japan had been suspected of war crimes in China and Korea, and at least India knew that China would wage war in predictable was. Japan... no such guarantees. Japan ceded all territorial claims outside of the Japanese islands, but remained largely isolationist; its military leadership was forcibly removed by Emperor Hirohito, and they committed ritual suicide to atone for their horrifyingly bad judgement.
  25.
  26. China broke into three nations, for not the first time.
  27.
  28. The Soviet Union, meanwhile, had been sowing chaos and trying to seed communist revolutions in order to get their own puppet dictators in place, and bolster their own nation. They were about to reap what they sowed.
