  1. So I'd like to propose a change to T-hunting. The end goal is to make chests easier to actually locate as currently the maps are super duper inaccurate.
  2.
  3. Reasoning: currently T-map hunting is a huge sink of skill points and in some cases, an actual feat. You absolutely need cartography, but you also need Lockpicking to open the chests and you need mining if you want to unearth it without being literally on top of it (which as mentioned above, this is super inaccurate) and many classes need to take the Jack of all Trades feat in order to take these skills (yes, this is partially offset by a larger skill cap, but it's still a cost). Now normally, this was fine, as you could with time and effort solo or hunt these maps in small groups of 2 or 3. That is no longer the case and the more valuable maps require a larger party. Larger party means you have to split the earnings more ways and this can sometimes be a feels bad for the person who has to sink all the skills into it and gets less out of it.

  5. Suggestion: make it easier to actually find the chest when within the right area. I think this could be done several ways. The first is to just give a flat +X tile bonus and have mining just increase it even further. The second is to allow other skills to give the same bonus as mining, such as tracking or detect hidden. The third would be to be able to "track" the chest, popping up an arrow pointing to the tile the chest is. The fourth would be a hot/cold system letting you know if you are closer or further away from the chest itself. The last two are my favorite conceptually but least favorite practically, as these seem more code intensive.

  7. Now, the why: Honestly it's super frustrating right now trying to find the dumb chest. I can only imagine how boring it is standing around waiting for a chuckle head to figure out that "east" and "weast" are different. Any of these suggestions could help speed up the finding of the chest which is the longest and most boring part of the whole ordeal and should keep the whole thing moving a lot more.
