  1. It looks like prices on the Hometrack index are currently the same, but the news suggests that September (which is not on Hometrack yet) was a fairly large drop for the market.

Indeed according to RICS (https://www.rics.org/globalassets/rics-website/media/knowledge/research/market-surveys/uk-residential-market-survey-september-2018-rics.pdf), something like 20 percent more surveyors have said there's been a fall in London prices in Sept than a rise (pg 3, left middle) and almost 50% expect a fall over the next 3 months (pg 4, left middle)
