- background:

Ryu's mother gave birth to him out of the wedlock, being just 17 at the time and still a high school student. Her so-called 'boyfriend' decided to abandon her and cut off all communication with her after she had found out she had gotten pregnant after their little fling during the summer break. Nadeshiko was heartbroken of course, but the feeling of heartbreak didn't last long. She now had the responsibility of being a future mother and she despite everything she still wanted to keep her child. Nadeshiko was a smart girl who made a wrong choice and learned from her actions. She still went to school and kept her pregnancy a secret from her parents and two elder siblings, seeing that she was the youngest in her family and she didn't want to trouble anyone at home. Her mother's heath wasn't in stable condition and it was stressful enough for her elder sisters who already had stable jobs and families of their own and her own father who was also getting older. She would have to come clean soon, she promised herself.

'Soon' was an understatement. Nadeshiko's mother became more ill as the days went by and countless doctors came to visit each day, prescribing the woman different kinds of medication every time. Her father and elder siblings where too occupied and worried to notice Nadeshiko's growing belly and unusual eating habits or the fact that she had stopped going to school and staying at home the whole day. On day her mother passed away she didn't bear to shed a tear and was the only one who didn't cry at the funeral. She told her father and elder siblings the same day.

The day Ryunosuke was born was one that no one could forget, not just because they decided to call a midwife instead of going to the hospital, but because he was born with his little fists completely lit on fire ( explained more detailed in later ).

"This is the child of a demon!" The midwife screeched and almost dropped the bawling baby on the floor if it wasn't for his aunt who had quickly caught him, making sure not to touch the erupting flames that was coming from his hands. The midwife bolted out of the door, not even bothering to take her things back with her. The four distraught and slightly traumatized family members agreed not to tell anyone about this.

Ryu's birth actually made them closer and they all cared for him very much and grew up pretty much like any normal kid would've. They didn't want anyone to know about his powers so his mother and grandfather gave him a strict warning to not use it in public, or at least don't make it too obvious. That was easier said than done, since the older he got, is powers got more stronger as well. Despite not being able to use his powers unless no one was watching, once he reached high school he had already mastered the ins and outs of his abilities but with this he ended up having a hard time being able to concentrate on other things, like getting a good nights sleep.

- personality:

—He’s a natural born leader and will take charge in any given moment. He isn’t quite used to working in a team but is very open to the idea, as long as he’s the leader of course. Ryu is stubborn and amendment with what he wants, not giving up until he gets it. He can be bossy and demanding at times but that’s because he wants to win and triumph over others. He hates the feeling of disappointing or letting someone down and would feel an immense weight of guilt if that happens, causing him to over think and stress himself out. He doesn’t like sharing his problems with others and would block out his emotions from time to time.

—He’s hot-headed and has a fiery temper that could kill. He knows he gets pissed off easily and tries to keep his emotions at bay by doing breathing exercises to cool off. He has gradually leaned to have a strong sense of self-control because of this, and worse he’s allow himself to get is extremely ticked off ( which isn’t even that bad ). Though at times his emotions can get the best of him and he’ll get completely absorbed by it and would go on violent rages which the only way of stopping is to wait till he gets worn out/or faint. He deeply despises this part of himself.

—He has a look on his face that gives off an air of cockiness or arrogance and he does play the part, most of the time. But behind this facade he’s actually the type of person who can be easily teased or made fun of, though pretty much almost no one does that unless they want to be burned alive because of his temper. Ryu gets embarrassed easily and his face and ears are quick to turn red in any remotely embarrassing situation. He also acts as if he’s completely confident in whatever he does but in reality he actually has a really low self-esteem and only his teammates know about this, so praise is like a drug for him, he craves for it.

—He’s a perfectionist and thrives for the best, not just in planning or combat, but in anything and everything. He likes things to be neat and tidy and hates messy surroundings or places. He’s a mild clean freak as well and will literally nag his roommate to clean their shit up or else he’ll toss it all of their stuff out of the window. Others like to tease him by calling him OCD which he denies.

—He’s sassy and somewhat blunt. He isn’t the type to beat around the bush when having a conversation, he’ll just tell it as it is. Ryu’s sharp tongue may come off as rude to many but really that’s just his personality, not many people understand this unless they’ve been around him a lot, like his team mates. Though if you piss him off he won’t hesitate to roast you, both literally and with his words Mostly with words though.

—Deep inside he’s actually a really caring guy and is somewhat motherly in a way, stressing out about the people he’s close to, like his team mates for example or just friends. He’ll get annoyed if he finds one of his team mates or friends skipping meals and would bug them to just go eat. He’s a responsible friend and shows it in small ways. He’s kind of a tsundere in a way.

—Igniting fire at any time and any place ( except underwater ofc )
With the snap of his finger he can create a ring of fire around the two teams in an instant, to lessen the space around them. He can’t prevent the fire from spreading, but he can make it spread faster or in any direction he pleases. When he concentrates hard enough he can light specific places on fire too.

—Heat Manipulation
He can send immense heat to whatever place he touches with ease. If he touches the floor it would heat up like it was made out of lava in no time without it lighting on fire.

—Balls of fire / Flamethrower thing ? ( im not sure what it’s called )
He can create balls of fire of any size with his hands and throw them at incredible speeds, his aim isn’t very accurate though, but he can make them quick and throw them even quicker. He has the power of using his hands like a flamethrower, projecting controllable streams of fire from the palms of his hands,he tends not to use this often though.


- when did you discover your power:
He 'discovered' it when he was born. Just as the midwife was about to get him cleaned up, his hands suddenly lit on fire and it stunned everyone. None of his family members had powers let alone one which could potentially burn the house down so they didn't know what to do or how to stop it. Eventually he did calm down and stopped crying and the flames calmed down as well. As he grew up he learned how to manipulate his powers whenever he pleased, not needing to get angry or upset for it to work like when he was a toddler or a baby, the only downfall to this is that his powers become more and more restless.

- strengths :

—Using his powers in his advantage and kind of creatively using it at times. I’m not really sure what to put in here haha ;;

- weakness:

—He can get extremely tired considerably fast, especially if he goes all out with his abilities in the first few moments of the fight. He'll need a couple of minutes to recharge and that's when his other two team mates step in to do their thing before the next roasting session.

—Water. He can't start a fire when he's completely doused wet so unless he's at least 60% dry he can't use his powers.

- fatal flaw:

—The fact that he tends to use all his powers in one go. His emotions sometimes gets the best of him so when he gets too agitated he'll literally blow a fuse and burn the entire place to dust. He has fainted many times during practices when overdoing himself and would stay unconscious for as long as a whole day or more. That's pretty much the only time he'll get a proper sleep but that's not even a good thing because of how much damaging it is to his health.

- how were you chosen to go to the school:
He was chosen after an agent of the school that was around the area had caught him using his powers in an abandoned field at night. The agent was taking a late night stroll and noticed a bright flicker across the path they where walking on. They decided to take a look and saw a male lying back on the grass with his hand lifted up and it was on fire. The flame that was coming from the boy's hand was the brightest he had ever seen so they approached him. Ryu heard a rustle and he quickly stopped using his powers, leaving them both in the darkness. The agent explained about the school and it all started there. Ryu kept quiet and waited till the agent left, thinking it would all be over until he got a letter of acceptance the next day.

They first met around the school when Ryu found him spraying some graffiti on the wall behind the school hall after the opening ceremony. He debated whether or not he should just mind his own business and just continue walking off to the dorms but due to his slight OCD-ness, naturally he went up to the other male and was all up in his face, telling him to stop doing what he was doing. The running paint and the messiness of the graffiti annoyed him to no end, if this guy is not gonna stop he could at least try do his paint job a little neater.

"Hey look, either do it right or don't do it at all." Ryu stated and folded his arms, his eyebrows knitting together in annoyance. The vandal let out a laugh and turned around, meeting his eyes for a split second. 'CRUD. HE'S HOT.' He thought, his breath hitched a little as he pursed his lips, trying to keep the piercing glare on without his eyes going lower to check more of this guy out.

"What are you gonna do about it?" The Illusionist scoffed, about to continue his vandalism until he noticed something that made his smirk widen. "Are you.. Checking me out?"

"NO."

middle:

After that one meeting they ended up seeing each other a lot at random times, whether they want to or not. Ryu especially didn't want to nor did he need to becasue every time he saw the Illusionist's face it would be a grim reminder of the burning embarrassment he had felt on their first meeting. No one knew of this first meeting and he didn't want anyone to know besides the two of them, at least Ryu wanted to save a little bit of his reputation and dignity. His team mates would sometimes wonder why his ears would turn red whenever the Illusionist was around. The Illusionist on the other hand wasn't at all effected by this and would sometimes purposely go to the same places Ryu was or spare a smile or a wave when they made eye-contact just to tease him.

During training Ryu would pay attention to Illusionist's powers and his abilities and in all honesty he felt a little intimidated. Illusionist was cunning and he would pull out these tricks that no one would expect during a fight. That was the start of their rivalry. When their teams went up against each other he would get agitated because they would never actually fight against each other and Ryu would question why.

"Do you actually think I'm not cut out for this? That's why you refuse to go against me?" Ryu eventually confronted the Illusionist about it in one of the locker rooms and they both ended up getting in a heated argument. In the next fight they really do go against each other. They completely ignored what else was happening with the rest of their team mates and went all out. Ryu was so determined to beat him he lost himself a little in the process and eventually got hurt, using too much of his power until he collapsed on the ground with his eyes shut.

The Illusionist, who was also pretty bruised up himself walked over to Ryunosuke's unmoving body and scoffed, crouching down to gently nudge the other's limp shoulder.

"You couldn't handle the heat, huh?"

"Go to hell." That was the last thing Illusionist heard before he felt the sudden explosion of pain in his jaw that could only be caused by a punch from a certain male who he had thought was unconscious. Ryu then fainted for real and they both ended up in the med bay on the same day.

Since Illusionist's injuries weren't so severe he just sat on one of the plastic chairs in the med room after he got patched up and just watched Ryu sleep. The nurse had gone off and it was only the two of them in the room. Ryu had an IV attached to his arm and he looked even paler than before, making Illusionist feel more like an asshole than he usually felt like, low-key regretting his life choices. Illusionist walked closer to the bed Ryu was on and leaned in, innocently wanting to double check if the other male was still breathing, but then it somehow ended up with the both of them having a short, very tired make-out session when he felt the collar of his shirt getting tugged down by Ryu that had suddenly woke up.

The nurse was shocked to see the two squashed in the same bed fast sleep.

end:

No one knew what happened in the med bay except for the two of them, and the nurse. They acted indifferent with each other most of the time and still annoyed the hell out of each other whenever the chance, exchanging insults in the hallway from time to time, only when they where people around them that is. It was only on the day of their graduation and eventually one of them decides to fess up by asking, "Do you want to go on a date? Because I think we're a /match/." ( I'll let you decide who, wink wonk if you got that pun )

- what do you think of your team:
He honestly thinks that they actually make a good team despite all their differences. At first he was a little weary about the two being the type who isn't used to working in a team or mingling with others who have abilities like himself, but soon enough they actually became pretty close-ish friends, joking around with each other from time to time. Being the leader he does usually plan ahead and think about ways to benefit each and everyone's power to the best of their abilities, this being said sometimes they have arguments, especially between himself and Elastic, but it usually cools down eventually in the end. He doesn't only feel the pressure of having to be the leader but he also finds himself worrying about his other two team mates as well. Air is because of his anxiety issues or those times where he has his little 'accidents' and Elastic because she's popular and is usually around many different people throughout the day and feels like if she isn't careful she'll let something slip out of her mouth like one of the team's plans or something. He isn't sure if his team mates know how much stress ( and in a way joy ) they cause him but he's too prideful to ask or tell them.

- why:
Ryu would't be the type to use his powers for evil, but then again that would sound pretty hypocritical becasue of his violent bursts at times. He was said to be the child of a demon so he plans to prove the world wrong ( or right? ) .

- what's your opinion on the school:
When he got the letter he was reluctant to go at first, being from a small town and not used to being around people with powers like him. His grandfather agreed for him not to go but his mother was ecstatic about it, so he went. He personally thinks the school is kinda pointless, but he's all in it for the competition and to show off and enhance his abilities.

- fighting style:
He's more of an attacker than a defender, but when he does defend it’s making a fire wall or something like that to buy them more time. When he attacks he starts off light at first, like throwing flaming balls of fire or setting his opponents feet on fire. If they don’t win my then he starts to bring out the more heavy duty stuff.
