  1. You follow behind Sanja into the doors of Koffman labs. It was a few days after that awesome monster fight that Sanja had pulled off and the roads had mostly been cleared, many companies were waiting until the damage had been completely cleaned up, but that didn't stop Koffman labs at all. Many people still came into work, Sanja being one of them. According to her, Koffman was on the 43rd floor, which shouldn't be hard to get to. She'd be going about her job as normally so as not to bring about any prying eyes. This left you to spy on the man in charge yourself.
  2.
  3. "Now be careful. This place has a lot of security." Sanja whispers as she keeps facing forward. "Try not to be seen if you can help it. Good luck, we'll meet up later."
  4.
  5. You let out small grunt of understanding as she heads off to the elevators, leaving you alone. You look around at the people as they go on with their daily lives. You agreed to do this, but really, you've got no idea on what you're supposed to do now.
  6.
  7. You are Jane Ackerman, also known as Orange Sun, and you're on a mission.
  8.
  9. ...And you totally didn't pay 40 bucks to a certain guy to get this episode dedicated to you. Nope. Not at all...
  10.
  11. But enough fourth wall breaking, there's work to do, and you cannot afford to mess things up.
  12.
  13. >Go spy on Koffman, get straight to it
  14. >Head down below, there's gotta be something there
  15. >Goof off a bit, see what Sanja is doing
  16.
  17. >Goof off a bit, see what Sanja is doing
  18.
  19. Well, you do have some time on your hands, so you decide that Koffman can wait for a little while, Sanja shouldn't have gotten too far, and you're currently invisible, so she won't know if you're in the room with her or not. you fly up to the roof, you remember Sanja telling you what floor she was on, so that you could report to her with any of your findings. It takes you all of five minutes to find her, sitting at her little area and working on some random computer nonsense.
  20.
  21. "Hey Sanja, can you come check on the printer? I think it's busted again." Comes the voice of one man who peeks his head around the corner
  22.
  23. "Again? Seriously, that thing needs to replaced already if it's going to keep causing problems like this." She says with a sigh
  24.
  25. With nothing better to do, you follow after Sanja, the black-haired woman kneeling over to look at the printer
  26.
  27. "Everything seems fine." Sanja mutters looking it over "Are you sure it's not okay?"
  28.
  29. "Yeah, definitely, something's wrong with it. the words were coming out a bit faded." The man replies, though you can see why they really called her over. He and a few other guys are just staring at Sanja's ass without any hint of remorse, one of them is even smiling goofily at it.
  30.
  31. >Get your own sort of fun. Smack her ass
  32. >Smack one of the guys in the back of the head
  33. >Other/Write-in
  34.
  35. >Smack one of the guys in the back of the head
  36.
  37. if it were just you and your friends, you'd totally ogle Sanja's ass. She's got a good one on her, but these are some random work morons, and as such they are not entitled to such a thing. So you sidle up behind them, making sure you don't brush against them or anything and prepare your hand as you bring against one of their heads hard.
  38.
  39. Thwack
  40.
  41. The smack sound reverberates throughout the room causing Sanja to look up at them all.
  42.
  43. "Ow, what the hell man!!" The one you smacked calls out
  44.
  45. "What? I didn't do anything!"
  46.
  47. "Yeah, and I suppose my head smacked itself?"
  48.
  49. "I really don't know!"
  50.
  51. The men continue arguing, which causes Sanja to just sigh and walk off back to her work area. You eye her (well, her ass) as she walks off...and you get that usual mischievous feeling well up inside of you.
  52.
  53. >Grab her ass yourself
  54. >Enough joking around,let's get to work
  55. >Boobies!
  56. >Other/Write-in
  57.
  58. >Grab her ass yourself
  59.
  60. Okay, you can't deny that you wanna do this, besides, technically speaking, Sanja is your girlfriend too right? Right? You're gonna just assume that's the correct line of thinking. You float up to her slowly until your inches behind her. You quickly and swiftly give her ass a rough grab, and a quick few squeezes. Damn, her butt is softer than a blanket!
  61.
  62. "Eeek! Who did that?!" she exclaim looking around "W-wait, Jane? That's you isn't it!"
  63.
  64. Oh crap.
  65.
  66. You stay silent for a minute
  67.
  68. "I know you're around Jane!" she growls before turning back around and continuing her walk. You can't help but let out a small giggle after she's gone. That was worth it, and you had some fun at her expense. Hopefully she won't be too mad when this is all said and done with.
  69.
  70. That said though, you don't think you'll be getting anymore fun out of Sanja, so alas, it's probably time you went ahead and did what was requested of you. So...what do you do first.
  71.
  72. >Head for the top floor, Koffman first
  73. >Try seeing if there's anything below the first floor
  74. >Other/Write-in
  75.
  76. >Head for the top floor, Koffman first
  77.
  78. Well, it's time to do what you came here for. You float up to the floor above, and the floor above that and so on and so forth until you're finally at the top floor where the boss man resides. It's not like Sally's top floor which had multiple rooms for certain things, but instead it is a singular hallway that leads to one room and one room only. You float closer to it, seeing the name 'Harold Koffman' on the door.
  79.
  80. "Looks like this is it." You mutter before phasing through the door. There sitting at his desk is a rather stout looking man, as he was busy typing away at his keyboard and routinely answering the phone and talking about some crap you didn't really understand.
  81.
  82. So this was him...Harold Koffman
  83.
  84. You sat there, standing next to him unknowingly as he picked up his phone again.
  85.
  86. "Hm? Oh yes, I see, so things are coming along then? Good good! I'll come right now and look, is that okay? Great."
  87.
  88. He put his phone down and you make sure you're out of his way, as he began to go for the door. Huh, you just get here and he's already leaving, talk about rude. Still, that beats just sitting here for hours on end.
  89.
  90. >Follow him
  91. >Let him go, search his office for now
  92. >Other/Write-in
  93.
  94. >Let him go, search his office for now
  95.
  96. You'll let him go, there could be some good things around this office, and so you get to looking. It's about 20 minutes into your search and there doesn't seem to be anything interesting. The shelves are filled with boring files, which from what you can grasp is nothing important at all, and there's nothing important within the drawers at all. So that leaves you with only one option...
  97.
  98. His computer.
  99.
  100. You move over to it and look at the screen. Nothing too important on the screen, just some stock information. You minimiz that and decide to go snooping on through his documents. At first you find nothing great, but one catches your interest.
  101.
  102. You open the file titled 'experiment results' looking into it makes you go pale (Well as pale as you can go while invisible)
  103.
  104. The document reads as follows:
  105.
  106. Thug 1: Transformed, killed by Red Meteor
  107. Thugs2-5: Transformed, ate other thugs to further transformation. Killed by Red Meteor and Blue Comet
  108.
  109. Silver thumbs leader: Captured. Transformed into larger monster: Killed by Black Asteroid
  110.
  111. Results=less than desirable, moving on to special experiment, subject will begin testing in a few days. Results expected to be high.
  112.
  113. Shit he's working on something else?! You hear the door knob turning and you quickly close the document and reopen what Koffman was looking at prior as you float out of the chair.
  114.
  115. He returns looking quite happy, and goes back to work. You peer at his computer, with him opening the document from before. He adds one terrifying line of dialogue
  116.
  117. "New subject, 100% complete. No abnormalities present."
  118.
  119. Shit.
  120.
  121. >Go back to Sanja
  122. >Stick around more
  123. >Head down below ground, find out where he went
  124. >Other/Write-in
  125.
  126. >Knock on the door and lure him away from the computer, then email the file to Sally(89)
  127.
  128. Hmmm, you've got a plan, you just hope it works. You phase through the door, and begin knocking on it hard for a split second. which is hard enough for Koffman to hear thankfully.
  129.
  130. "Come in!" Koffman calls out, but he was perplexed when no one came inside. So...you repeat it. "I said you can come in!" But again you don't answer, which causes Koffman to become curious.
  131.
  132. "What in the world...?" he mutters coming to the door, only to see nothing there
  133.
  134. "Huh...am I hearing things? Hm, perhaps I should grab some food, it has been a while since I've eaten."
  135.
  136. Perfect
  137.
  138. Koffman leaves his office, which gives you just the time to do what you wanted to. You hop back on his computer, opening the file from last time, and then you go on to Bayou.com and log into your email. Good thing Sally gave you her email address, as you quickly type it in, and send the email to her with URGENT written as the title. Once that's done, you log out and leave everything as it was.
  139.
  140. Minutes later, a message comes in from Sally
  141.
  142. "Don't just stand around, try to find it!" she growls
  143.
  144. Good idea, but you have no idea where to start.
  145.
  146. >Go follow Koffman, maybe he'll go back?
  147. >Relay your findings to Sanja
  148. >Try to find the place yourself
  149.
  150. >Try to find the place yourself(50)
  151.
  152. You try to find this place yourself. As such you decide to search each floor, but that quickly tires you out. You then try to see if there's any of the workers that looks suspicious, but again, that isn't working out. You're about to leave when you see something out of the corner of your eye. Did you just see a guy, go around that corner...? You weren't seeing things right?
  153.
  154. You round the corner and see...nothing. Just a water fountain next to a window.
  155.
  156. ...What?
  157.
  158. You're certain you saw someone go this way just now. What the hell? You aren't going mad are you? That'd be a weird character direction right now.
  159.
  160. >Investigate! (1d100)
  161. >You're losing your mind. Back to Sanja
  162.
  163. >Investigate!(66)
  164.
  165. You look around, there's gotta be something here. You tap a few of the walls and get nothing, and you continue doing this for several minutes before you, at a loss for what else to do, stick your head through the water fountain. Surprisingly, there's something behind it!
  166.
  167. You finally have a breakthrough! You move through the dark hallway, things slowly becoming illuminated by green lights as you continue along. As you look from side to side you notice that there are large container like objects, and inside of them, from what you could make out were more of those monsters.
  168.
  169. "Holy crap...he really is making them!" You whisper as you continue along. Eventually, you reach a large white hallway, with numerous scientists working at something. You decide to listen in to them.
  170.
  171. "So how's the subject doing?" One of them asked
  172.
  173. "Marvelous really, he's performing a lot better than expected."
  174.
  175. "Indeed, to think the data obtained from Red Meteor and his allies would prove so great!"
  176.
  177. "Right, we're going to put him through a few more tests, and then it could be ready for a test run."
  178.
  179. "To think that guy would be such a good fit."
  180.
  181. "Indeed, those street punks we used weren't all that helpful at all. But hey, a large number of mistakes is all part of science. I'm gonna go check on him again."
  182.
  183. You're interested and so you follow behind him. He goes through a few halls, more monsters present, which makes you wince...until he stops in one room that overlooks a circular arena. What you see below makes you shudder.
  184.
  185. That armor...is just like the one you and the others wear...
  186.
  187. >Go down there, get an up close look at him
  188. >Stay here and watch what he can do.
  189. >Get out of here and inform the others.
  190. >PANIC
  191.
  192. >Stay here and watch what he can do.
  193.
  194. You decide to stay up here and watch this. Reaching for your phone, you take it out and turn it onto video mode. Thankfully, this thing is invisible so long as you hold onto it. You turn it onto video recording function and begin to watch the testing as it goes on.
  195.
  196. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" The armored person yells. The voice is distorted and painful sounding, it almost makes you want to cover your ears. Still, you managed to keep quiet and soon the arena is filled with more of those monsters.
  197.
  198. The armored warrior whips out an axe, letting out another ear-splitting scream as he hacks and slashes them to pieces. All the while yelling and growling as he did so. it was more like watching a caged animal than an actual person. Still, he wasn't breaking a sweat against the monsters at all.
  199.
  200. This isn't good. This isn't good at all...
  201.
  202. They then send it the large monster like the one Sanja defeated, and he defeats that rather easily too.
  203.
  204. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH" He yells again as electricity crackles from his body.
  205.
  206. This...this is getting painful to watch.
  207.
  208. >Leave, it's time to go regroup with the others
  209. >Stay for more...?
  210.
  211. >Stay for more...?
  212.
  213. You're uncomfortable. But this is important, you've got to know the limits on this...thing before you leave. They send out even more creature. A healthy mix of all the ones Red has faced before...and he begins killing them with ease. The monsters tried to dog-pile him, but he pushes them off and proceeds to rip them clean in two. He fires of electricity at one and punches another, causing them to roar in pain.
  214.
  215. Just as he's about to kill some more, he drops to his knees, screaming in pain once more.
  216.
  217.
  218. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!"
  219.
  220. Again with the blood-curdling scream. This time though he contines on....
  221.
  222. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!"
  223.
  224. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"
  225.
  226. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!"
  227.
  228. He falls to the floor, body convulsing in pain as he continues screaming. Scientists move in, and begin to try and restrain him, only for him to toss some of them against the wall. One of their heads burst on contact with the wall...
  229.
  230. That's it. You can't handle anymore, you fly away, fighting the urge to vomit.
  231.
  232. >Go to Sally
  233. >Go to Sanja
  234.
  235. >Go to Sanja
  236.
  237. You feel sick. You feel awful. Those...that guy. Those were his brains on the wall. His body was twitching too. Oh god, oh god, you saw someone die. You never saw anyone die. Where's Sanja, you need to go. It isn't safe here. It is not safe with that thing here. What if it gets loose? You and Sanja can' take that thing alone.
  238.
  239. You fly until you get back to where Sanja is. You appear in front of her, dropping her invisibility. Sanja looks at you, first sarcastically, then with worry.
  240.
  241. "Jane? What's wrong?"
  242.
  243. "Brains! Monster!" You shriek
  244.
  245. "What? Monster? Calm down!"
  246.
  247. You attempt to calm down, but you can't you're too freaked out.
  248.
  249. "We have to go. It isn't safe, please!"
  250.
  251. "What is going on? Look, just relax and-"
  252.
  253. Blech
  254.
  255. You couldn't hold it, the image of those brains on the wall, cause you to vomit in front of Sanja as she recoils in disgust.
  256.
  257. "Ew, Jane."
  258.
  259. You're shaking, and sobbing. That scared you, why did that scare you, you're a super hero, you don't get scared! But you're terrified.
  260.
  261. "P-please, let's...leave please!"
  262.
  263. At this Sanja concedes finally, and she tells everyone to let her supervisor know that she's taking the rest of the day off...and to get Jerry up here to clean up the mess.
  264.
  265. They see you and how pale you are, and don't argue. Sanja whips out her phone and calls for Sadie to come get you guys.
  266.
  267. "Yes. It's Jane, she's not well."
  268.
  269. "I don't know why. But she's scared...shaking. I've never seen her like this. Get Saya too. Right, okay."
  270. Eventually, Sadie pulls up in her car. She thankfully has a few days off while the roads are cleared.
  271.
  272. "So what's up with Jane?"
  273.
  274. "I don't know, I can't get a word out of her. It has to be something she saw while snooping around."
  275.
  276. "Right, We'll head to Sally's then. I'll get in touch with Red."
  277.
  278. And with that, you're off, back to Crescent Inc. You still need help getting out of the car. Sanja having to force you to your feet, as the three of you head up to Sally's office, Helena showing some concern for you as well. The others didn't bother answering her question of what was wrong.
  279.
  280. Eventually, you're up at Sally's office, with all your friends looking you over. Sally is running a diagnostic, according to her, she's a certified doctor on top of everything else she does.
  281.
  282. "She's in shock. A few days rest and she'll be okay. But right now, it'd be best if we don't push her." Sally says sighing.
  283.
  284. "Look Jane, I know you're freaked out, but...what did you find? What did you see that caused this.
  285.
  286. You shakily take out your phone and hand it Sally.
  287.
  288. "Your phone huh? Okay, let's see..."
  289.
  290. She takes the phone and hooks it up to her computer, allowing for the video to be played fullscreen. What follows is everyone watching the video and you averting your eyes and holding your ears at the end.
  291.
  292. "Y-yeah, that'd do it." Saya murmurs looking at you with concern
  293.
  294. "That...did they create their own Red Meteor...?" Sally muttered
  295.
  296. "Looks like it...and they succeeded with flying colors." Sadie growled
  297.
  298. "But it's completely uncontrollable, we should be fine." Red said, he walks over to kneeling down to look you in the eyes "You okay Jane?"
  299.
  300. >...
  301. >Nod
  302. >Hug him, you're scared.
  303.
  304. >Hug him, you're scared
  305.
  306. You don't say anything and hug him tightly. You're scared, what if you have to fight that thing and he does that to you, or worse one of the others? You don't want your new boyfriend (and does Saya count as a girlfriend?) to get their heads going through that kind of pain. The mere idea makes you shudder
  307.
  308. "There there, it's okay. We're here for you." Red says rubbing your head. The others move around you (Well not Sally) and pat your back, you begin sobbing again, a bit more loudly this time. It's about ten minutes before you stop. Feeling a tiny bit more calm.
  309.
  310. "Alright...Red, you and I are gonna take Jane home."
  311.
  312. The two of them help you to her feet and proceed to drive you home. It's a complete blur to you and the next thing you know you're at your door, Jane's dad having answered the door.
  313.
  314. "Officer...Red...and Jane?" He asks in shock at your haggered apperance
  315.
  316. "What happened, what's going on?" he asks dropping the gruff act.
  317.
  318. "Calm down sir, your daughter is fine, she just...saw something that really shook her up."
  319.
  320. "What was that?"
  321.
  322. "Sorry, can't talk about it, official police business. She's in shock, but she'll be fine with a few days rest."
  323.
  324. "Okay, but why is he here?" He says pointing to Red
  325.
  326. "He's my live in maid, We were having a bite to eat when things went south, he considers your daughter a friend, so I figured he'd want to help look after her."
  327.
  328. "Uh...please let me help? I can't stand seeing Jane like this."
  329.
  330. "Huh...I guess it's okay." Your dad says letting him inside. Thanks for bring her home officer."
  331.
  332. "Please call me Sadie, I'm not really on the clock."
  333.
  334. "Fair enough Sadie, thanks."
  335.
  336. Your dad sighs eyeing you up. "You gonna be okay sweetie?"
  337.
  338. >...
  339. >Nod
  340. >Try to reassure him
  341. >Other/Write-in
  342.
  343. >Nod
  344.
  345. You can't find the strength to speak, so you just nod at his question.
  346.
  347. "That's...good then. You head on up to your room okay? We'll talk more when your mother gets home."
  348.
  349. "..."
  350.
  351. You don't say anything and head up to your room
  352.
  353. "As for you..." he says looking at Red, "I hope you don't mind using the guest room. This is all short notice."
  354.
  355. "Of course, I'm really sorry about what happened."
  356.
  357. "Not your fault, I can't blame you for something you had no control over."
  358.
  359. You arrive in your room and kick off your shoes. Your day has been long...and terrifying at that. You plop down on the bed, not bothering to throw off your clothes and promptly go to sleep.
  360.
  361. Your night of sleep was terrible. The same scene of the body flying at an incredible speed towards the wall and splattered all over. Several times it was you in place of that random guy. Other times it was Saya, or Red, or any of your friends...
  362.
  363. your dreams were completely wrapped in fear at having to fight that...monster in the purple armor.
  364.
  365. TO BE CONTINUED IN RED METEOR PART 17
