That attitude legit makes me think [the holder] should just off himself right now. I’m not even being facetious or being all “kill yourself retard”, it’s the only internally consistent outcome of that mindset
Our purpose as live is purely a means to itself. Trying to stretch that out as long as possible with some grander objective, pursuit of knowledge IMO, is the only reasonable course of action if you don’t believe in a rapture or some other universal end-state for us as either individuals or a species.
So if you reject that objective on moral grounds you’re basically declaring life itself inherently immoral, since life is an inherently unsustainable means to itself.

I think we
've got a few quadrillion years in the tube if we play our cards right of course. So honestly it's more a question of what to even do with all that time
I suspect we'll get bored eventually and chuck ourselves into the supermassive black hole we live around, just to see what's on the other side.

well yeah, but this is long term
In the short term we need to properly weight goods and bads according to their externality costs/benefits
Mid term is minimization of QoL disparity
THEN we get to do all this batshit cosmic architecture.
