  16. [2015-06-24 13:05:54] <Little_Gloom> 3Over the radio, Mwana then says, "If you can stay hidden, I think you should do so. But you'll need to send a few of you ponies over. The other captains are going to want to know what happened..." He stops, apparently stepping away from the radio a few moments. During the silence, the /Cutless/ and two other ships pass by.

"We have been hired by a caravan company to retrieve a very dangerous item, a balefire bomb, out of belief that it would be used to create an area of Equestria safe for ghoul habitation." She paused briefly, then scuffed a forehoof before continuing.

  27. [2015-06-24 13:09:10] <Little_Gloom> 3Noble_Heart lets out a quiet 'hm'. "Well, your sources were correct. We did indeed travel over the mountains and down through the valley to get here." She paused briefly and snorted. "What is it that is further down this corridor..? You've been here for weeks-" she cut herself off again and thought aloud, "what have you been eating?"

Just me now. And the rotting ghoul." Gruesome Reminder chuckles again. "You're the first food I've seen in days."

Were she with her full power, she would slay this pony for their transgressions. Even desperation did not excuse cannibalism.   37. [2015-06-24 13:17:45] * Shatara frowns. "I'm not sure if outright telling them so is a good idea...but I'd rather not get holed by jumpy gunners when they manage to notice us..."
  38. [2015-06-24 13:18:54] * TenMihara nods, "Wut eef we, how yu ponees say, raise white flog?"
  39. [2015-06-24 13:20:23] * CopyCat skitters nervously. "Oh, if only Noble were here. She could make her voice all loud and put on a light show to let our friends know it is us."
  40. [2015-06-24 13:27:24] * TenMihara nods to CopyCat, "But shez not, so we haf tu du eet urselves."
  41. [2015-06-24 13:29:28] * Golden_Dream fires off a twang of a crossbow. "Yer' jus' gonna have t' deal with me doin' it the blunt way." She buckles her helmet, and then flies out swiftly onto the deck of the ship. She tumbled to reduce the speed, then inhales and exhales rapidly, laying back. "Ya'll! I need t' speak t' Mwana! Mwana!"
  42. [2015-06-24 13:32:11] * CopyCat starts to say something else when Golden_Dream just goes ahead and does something adverturous and heroic. She blinks at the Golden_Dream-shaped dust cloud of where their friend used to be. "...Or that could happen."
  43. [2015-06-24 13:33:09] * CopyCat tilts her head and then turns to Mitzi. "Did you know Goldie could fly?"
  44. [2015-06-24 13:33:38] * Bookwright shakes his head and snorts. "She's not flying. She's just falling with style."
  45. [2015-06-24 13:34:11] * Mitzi blinks as Goldie practically flies up to the other ship. "Dat wuz not flyeen. More like falleen wit style."
  46. [2015-06-24 13:42:35] <Little_Gloom> 6Ditzy Doo makes a surprised and mortified sound. This was not how she expected this to go at all. There was supposed to be friendship and definitely no eating of other ponies.
  47. [2015-06-24 13:43:41] * Noble_Heart looked back and down towards the ghoul. "We should continue Our search for a way out of this place. Perhaps one of those large doors we passed reaching here hides an exit."
  48. [2015-06-24 13:46:55] <Little_Gloom> 6Gruesome Reminder coughs. Then huffs with a gruff laugh. "Who are you to judge? Rabble Rouser was badly hurt by those vault psychos. He would have died in agony if we hadn't finished it quick. And once that was done, what's the point in just letting the meat rot?"
  49. [2015-06-24 13:48:56] <Little_Gloom> 6He continues after a coughing fit. "Merry Maker killed herself. Serena thought it was because she couldn't handle having eater Rabble, but I know the truth. One of those... entities in here got to her."
  50. [2015-06-24 13:49:07] <Little_Gloom> 6He pauses, solemn for a moment, before chuckling. "After that, it was just Serena and me. We both knew the score. And really, by then, I just /had/ to know what griffin tastes like!"
  51. [2015-06-24 13:49:49] <Little_Gloom> 6Ditzy Doo nods in the darkness, edging quickly away from the voice in the tunnel.
  52. [2015-06-24 13:50:38] <Little_Gloom> 6Gruesome calls out as the two move away, "You just wait. It's you and me now, and we both know the score. Eventually, you'll get hungry. Then you'll come for me. If I don't get hungry first."
  53. [2015-06-24 13:55:58] <Little_Gloom> 3It isn't long before Mwana Wameli has galloped to Golden_Dream's side. "Pony boarders out of nowhere!" he calls out mischeviously. In Equestrian, leaving the other pirates to look at him funny.
  54. [2015-06-24 13:56:15] * Noble_Heart snorts at that. "We would rather starve. It would be more dignified." She moves off into the darkness looking for one of the doors.
  55. [2015-06-24 13:57:42] * CopyCat peers over the side of the ship and watches Golden_Dream and Mwana on the deck of the /Cutlass/ below. Her tail wiggles.
  56. [2015-06-24 13:59:09] * Golden_Dream tumbles over with Mwana. Focus, Goldy. Your friend is at risk now. "Mwana, I'd /really/ like just t' spend th' afternoon with 'y, jus' doin' fuck all, but our plans got expidited a lil'. One of them necromancers got m' friend and teleported her somewheres. We gotta go rescue her 'afore she gets got!"
  57. [2015-06-24 14:00:16] <Little_Gloom> 3Mwana's ears droop. "A... necromancer?!"
  58. [2015-06-24 14:00:35] * Mitzi is content to keep her distance form the edges of the ship's deck. She didn't trust her balance.
  59. [2015-06-24 14:04:31] * Golden_Dream grits her teeth. "Yeah. A necromancer. Or at least, that's what she's labelled. I have a feelin' she ain't on account a' that Sleipnir is way down there, Th' Loonies are way /way/ down there, and we'd'a had more problems taking her down if she was a star necromancer."
  60. [2015-06-24 14:14:30] <Little_Gloom> 3Mwana looks rightfully terrified, but nods. "Who was taken? And where?"
  61. [2015-06-24 14:16:20] <Little_Gloom> 3Jugeote hurries up to Mwana, whispering something in the younger zebra's ear before scurrying off again.
  62. [2015-06-24 14:17:01] * Shatara tries to wave to Jugeote, only to remember he's on an invisible sky PT boat.
  63. [2015-06-24 14:17:03] <Little_Gloom> 3Mwana is statled out of his necromancer-phobia for a moment, staring after Jugeote. "Well, that's not right."
  64. [2015-06-24 14:18:47] * Golden_Dream gives a pained nicker, before looking back up. "Noble. Th' big purple one what needs t' take that stick outta her ass, but is... Honestly, kinda close. And I dunno! If I knew, I'd be there already. But we got her held captive, and I have m' top interrogator on her."
  65. [2015-06-24 14:22:28] <Little_Gloom> 3Mwana turns in alarm. "You lost your Captain?!"
  66. [2015-06-24 14:23:10] <Little_Gloom> 3He then looks confused. "Wait... you have who captive?"
  67. [2015-06-24 14:25:44] <Little_Gloom> 6Ditzo Doo walks for a good while longer, checking her Element's map sporatically. But the catacombs seem endless. And heavy gates repeatedly block the way.
  68. [2015-06-24 14:25:50] * Golden_Dream furrows her brow. "Captain at this point's a formality. We know what t' do. We have th' necromancer captive. We're gonna use what them folks at the NCR call 'enhanced interrogation techniques'."
  69. [2015-06-24 14:27:33] <Little_Gloom> 3Mwana suggests, "Give her to the real pirates. We'll get her to talk. We use actual torture."
  70. [2015-06-24 14:28:52] * Puppy is mostly playing with the radio
  71. [2015-06-24 14:29:05] * Shatara fidgets idly.
  72. [2015-06-24 14:29:10] * CopyCat glances guiltily towards where they'd left the unconcious half-dead necromancer on deck (unless she'd been locked up somewhere). CopyCat did plan to interrogate her like Golden_Dream had asked... but that was going to have to wait until the zebra woke up.
  73. [2015-06-24 14:32:05] * Golden_Dream snickers grimly. "Enhanced interrogation techniques are actual torture. It's jus' putting a nicer hat on it, 'cause apparently, th' words y' use on a horrible thing change th' horrible thing y' do."
  74. [2015-06-24 14:34:01] <Little_Gloom> 3Parlay has returned. Sadly, without having found the Admiral.
  75. [2015-06-24 14:36:24] <Little_Gloom> 3Get_Lost is hearing some (occasionally spirited) zebra chatter on the radio. The pirates are talking (and in some cases arguing) with each other.
  76. [2015-06-24 14:37:10] <Little_Gloom> 3Mwana raises a skeptical eyebrow at that.
  77. [2015-06-24 14:37:53] * Golden_Dream clops her hooves together. "Hey, so. After they went n' fucked up and imploded their flagship, we got a lotta stripeless zebras held hostage on ours."
  78. [2015-06-24 14:38:29] * Golden_Dream rolls her hooves. "If you got any means of gettin' their stripes back, I'm thinkin' they'd be happy to work with you lot."
  79. [2015-06-24 14:38:51] * Shatara decides to see if any notstripeypones speak gryphon.
  80. [2015-06-24 14:40:19] <Little_Gloom> 6Noble_Heart becomes convinced that, instead of finding a passage out, their wanderings are taking them deeper into the catacombs. The occasionally sloped passages more often take them lower than higher, the cobblestone floors have given way to rough stonework. Much of the passages here are decorated in bones.
  81. [2015-06-24 14:41:11] <Little_Gloom> 6Rows of skulls line the walls and pattern the ceiling, many of which are broken, as if this passage saw combat in or vandalism in ancient times.
  82. [2015-06-24 14:43:25] * Noble_Heart took a moment to look at the walls and ceiling as the descended. "This place must be very old. It is strange, usually you would expect to find earlier construction the deeper you went, as they had to expand the catacombs. But these must not have been touched in a very long time." She frowned slightly but continued on. "Bookwright would love this place..." she trailed off

  84. [2015-06-24 14:46:12] <Little_Gloom> 6Ditzy Doo doesn't know who Bookwright is, but knows all about inquisitiveness. She nods silently.
  85. [2015-06-24 15:02:32] <Little_Gloom> 3Mwana asks confusedly, "Stripeless zebras? You mean ponies?" Then shifts the conversation, "Hey, the other pirate captains are going to need to hear from some of you 'bout what happened to the Leviathan. Sooner is better, before the speculation gets any crazier." He frowns, "They're holdin' an assembly over on the /Skullcrusher/, the Vespertilio's ship."
  86. [2015-06-24 15:03:02] <Little_Gloom> 3Mwana mutters something under his breath. Golden_Dream can make out the word "cruentos".
  87. [2015-06-24 15:05:38] * Golden_Dream rolls her eyes. "Fine, fuck. Any of ya'll got an extra set a' colors we can use t' take th' new invisiship along with us? Or is that jus' washin
  88. [2015-06-24 15:05:46] <Golden_Dream> ' a baby swampfolk at this point?"

[2015-06-24 15:13:55] <Little_Gloom> 3Mwana offers, "We can gather some sheets and leftover paint... but it might be better for your friends to come aboard here and then transfer to the other ship. You just got an Umbra-class ship, and you're not strong enough to keep it if a bunch of these guys decided they want it."
  90. [2015-06-24 15:14:26] <Little_Gloom> 3"Plus, it's good to have a few chits hidden up your sleeve."
  91. [2015-06-24 15:16:34] * Golden_Dream tilts her helmet. "Y' wanna bet?" She scoffs. "We can't use th' /Rainbow Connection/ no more. Th' durned thing got hit hard by th' implosion. I don't even know if it's airworthy at this point."
  92. [2015-06-24 15:19:08] * Golden_Dream starts to wave. "Hey! Get'cher ass on this ship and take th' durned stripeless with y'all!"
  93. [2015-06-24 15:25:13] * Shatara looks between Golden_Dream and the couple dozen unstripeypones. "Errrh...wat?"
  94. [2015-06-24 15:27:52] <Little_Gloom> 6The lighting from the Element is very weak, and pulses unsteadily at times, but Noble_Heart's eyes have adjusted to the level of light enough to make out their surroundings as they travel. And she has begun to notice that the deepest shadows do not always shift with the passing light.
  95. [2015-06-24 15:28:02] * Bookwright "Right. Round them up and I can float them over, one by one."
  96. [2015-06-24 15:28:25] <Shatara> "Are you sure that's a good idea?"
  97. [2015-06-24 15:29:04] <Shatara> "We have no idea what these pirates would do to them..."
  98. [2015-06-24 15:30:45] * Golden_Dream shrugs. "I dunno. But y' think leavin' 'em all on th' ship t' starve's a better idea?"
  99. [2015-06-24 15:35:50] <Shatara> "Do we even know if they have to eat?"
  100. [2015-06-24 15:36:35] <Golden_Dream> "Pretty durned!"
  101. [2015-06-24 15:40:11] <Shatara> "And shouldn't we, you know...ask before dumping a couple dozen prisoners on our questionably trustworthy allies?"
  102. [2015-06-24 15:42:24] * Bookwright shrugs. "These unstriped zebras did try to kill us."
  103. [2015-06-24 15:44:22] * Noble_Heart frowns, "This place is haunted. We are glad Golden Dream is not trapped here with Us, but it would be nice to have her expertise none the less." She presses on into the depths below the ancient zebra capital, if that was indeed where she was. Somewhere down here there must be a source of the strangeness. And perhaps a way to escape.

  105. [2015-06-24 15:49:44] <Goldy> ' prefer t' keep 'em and feed 'em?"
  106. [2015-06-24 15:50:03] * Goldy looks back up at Mwana for thoughts.
  107. [2015-06-24 15:52:41] * Mitzi looks to Bookwright, "Und uh keeled dem tu easily. Dey wuz nevur uh real threat."
  108. [2015-06-24 15:53:35] * Bookwright "True, but we don't have the resources to keep them captive. We don't even have a brig!"
  109. [2015-06-24 15:53:52] * Shatara sighs and looks towards the gathered unstripeypones. "I'd prefer to at least figure out what they are..." he says probably too soft for Goldy to hear.
  110. [2015-06-24 15:56:05] * Mitzi tilts her head at SHatara, "Dey eez just ponees. Stripey ponee witut stripes."
  111. [2015-06-24 15:57:22] <Little_Gloom> 6Ditzi Doo finally stops, plopping down on her plot and just stares. Not the stare of somepony who has found what they are looking for, but of a pony who has been trying to find a way out with no success for months, and has stopped expecting that to change. But here, at least, the floor is more dirt than stone; she can etch words in that. She writes: Hello.
  112. [2015-06-24 15:58:10] <Little_Gloom> 6Ditzy Doo adds a smilie face. She is practiced enough to do her writing upside down, allowing Noble_Heart to read it.

  114. [2015-06-24 16:01:13] * Noble_Heart pauses as Ditzy stops moving, turning around and looking downwards at the smaller pony. She smiles slightly at the message. "Hello to you too." she sits down across from Ditzy. "We are sorry. We have been terribly rude. Doubtless you have been through these caverns many times and struggled to find anything or anyone to share time with." She extends a wing in a gentle hug

  116. [2015-06-24 16:01:31] * Goldy looks at the shade that was the /Eclipsis/. "T' house th' hostages over here. Wouldn't make no sense t' come over t' here if they were on that there ship. Plus, we ain't got enough food for us an' them. Unless y' can't. Or yer' gonna kill 'em.
  117. [2015-06-24 16:09:23] <Little_Gloom> 6Ditzi Doo smiles brightly at Noble_Heart's friendly words and wing.
  118. [2015-06-24 16:10:37] <Little_Gloom> 3Mwana shifts uncomfortably. "We're... not really in a state to be taking on prisoners." He pauses. "How many? I'm sure there are ships that could find use for them."
  119. [2015-06-24 16:11:40] * Noble_Heart sighs quietly and gently hugs Ditzi with her wing. "We cannot imagine how bad this must have been for you. To be here alone for so long. Not even certain anyone knows you are missing. The Changelings have much to answer for." She bowed her head slightly in the dark. "We are glad at least that you are not hurt, and We will do Our best to keep it that way and to help you

  121. [2015-06-24 16:12:59] * Goldy looks back. "Couple dozen. All with this sad look in 'em. Like they're brainwashed. Y'know what all these folks got in trouble fer'? Talkin' back. Not kissin' their bosses' flank. That's what they got in trouble fer'."
  122. [2015-06-24 16:14:05] * Goldy sighs, then looks back at Mwana. "They're broken, Mwana. Th' fuckin' ship, it broke them."
  123. [2015-06-24 16:16:00] <Little_Gloom> 3Mwana's frown deepens and he swiftly changes the subject. "You'd have to clear it with the Captain. In the very least, I'm sure someone has room for them. Lot's of the families took losses in that fight. Anyway, how do we find your Captain?"
  124. [2015-06-24 16:18:05] * Goldy shakes her head. "I dunno! We have 't interrogate that one necromancer t' see where she put 'em! I saw a ring a' green fire, and then, she just sank down."
  125. [2015-06-24 16:31:15] <Little_Gloom> 3The Captain of the /Cutlass/ strides up and addresses Goldy. Mwana translates, "Where did the Leviathan go?"
  126. [2015-06-24 16:31:44] * Goldy says flatly, "It imploded."
  127. [2015-06-24 16:32:30] <Little_Gloom> 3Mwana translates back. The enxt question, "So where is the wreckage?"
  128. [2015-06-24 16:33:05] * Goldy responds back just as quickly. "There wasn't any."
  129. [2015-06-24 16:35:34] * CopyCat frets on the deck watching Goldy be questioned. She is quickly unable to stand leaving Goldy to face the pirates on her own, so with one short flight she joins Goldy on the /Cutlass/.
  130. [2015-06-24 16:35:58] <Little_Gloom> 3There is a quick discussion. Other zebras pirates begin to gather, Jugeote and Kifaa amongst them. "If it imploded, shouldn't there be wreckage? Even if just a really compacted hunk of metal?"
  131. [2015-06-24 16:36:36] * CopyCat gives Goldy and the pirates a quick bow. "Um, hello again."
  132. [2015-06-24 16:36:41] <Little_Gloom> 3The pirates react to the sudden alicorn-from-nowhere, but the Captain calms them.
  133. [2015-06-24 16:38:52] * CopyCat adds, "I was there when we... um... distrupted the Leviathan's engine. When it imploded it seemed to vanish completely. Like a snake eating its own tail."

It would be best if it was Captain Noble_Heart, but that cannot be helped."
  137. [2015-06-24 16:44:26] * CopyCat tilts her head. "Although we had not thought to look for wreckage. We were quite happy to have survived the Leviathan's passing."
  138. [2015-06-24 16:45:03] <Little_Gloom> 3"When you tell them what occurred, tell it as..." There is a pause in the translating and a whining complaint from Mwana. Then, "...as Golden_Dream tells it. Say nothing of the ship disappearing."

She actually manages to ooze tears of joy. That someone would come after all this time and bring her good news, news of her family... it is more than she could have wished for. Noble_Heart's words have filled her with joy.
  159. [2015-06-24 17:09:43] * Noble_Heart gently wraps a foreleg around Ditzy Doo, holding her close. It was perhaps not the best news, but at least it was a reason to know that those she cared about were safe for the moment.

The translators both confirm that they were convicts sentenced to the Leviathan because of their crimes and their translation skills. Knowing multiple languages is nowhere near as common as it was in the old Empire...
