  1. Nathaniel frowned and tilted his head, idlly wondering if the woman was off of it as he fell into step next to her.
  2.
  3. She had to be fucking with him, right? As they stepped into the bar, he shot a look at Octavia. She seemed confused for a moment until Scarlett had spoken and suddenly she got it.
  4.
  5. "I'm... sorry to hear?" Octavia said as Nathaniel slid into the booth next to her and sighed. "Maybe he was mistaken."
  6.
  7. "I guess so." Something was off and the both of them knew it. They weren't mistaken; both had vivid memories of sneaking around the castle, trying to eavesdrop of their parents' conversations. If he were to go to Castle Caerwyn right now he'd know it like the back of his hand. But he hadn't known Scarlett to tell a lie yet and something did seem off. Nathaniel had felt that way since he'd woken up, as though everything was... different than what he was used to. He'd never heard of beast people freely walking the roads. He'd never even heard of Kharidian or Al Kharid as a whole until his father had woken him up and told him to come here.

  9. The more he thought about it the more it bothered him. Was his dad hiding something from him? But... what?
  10.
  11. "I... ah... I'll pass on the drink. The day has been exciting enough as it is."

  15. "I told you you were not welcome here." There was a thunderous boom as a voice that commanded authority filled the air. Light of all colors filld the room, blinding Eden for a moment and as it died down he was greeted to the sight of an all too familiar friend.
  16.
  17. "Syn?" Eden said, rubbing at his eyes. He had to be seeing things. Syn was dead a long time now, alongside Florecia if he remembered correctly. But the shaggy white hair that hung down just above his waist and the way his eyes perpetually shifted color were hard to mistake.
  18.
  19. 'Syn' glanced at him and frowned, shaking his head. "This form suits me. Syn was a faithful friend." He looked back to the woman and frowned deeper though. "But I am Denus and you are unwelcome. I haven't forgotten the mess you made. Leave."
