  57. <Roo_inline[DM]> In a nearly instantaneous graphical scramble, everything on the screen is erased to be replaced by a single green word, the same word that was glitching out earlier.... SBRUG

  61. <architectingScientist> "When I put down a machine with a top that looks like a cap of some kind try to knock it off of the machine"

  72. <MercurialHermit> The room is a large square shape. In one corner sits my computer desk, and in the other is a bed. The room is filled with junk from the previous tenet, who had a passion for alternian "fine art"
  73. <MercurialHermit> "do I have to?"
  74. <architectingScientist> "Bayith I want you to survive"
  75. <MercurialHermit> "I've managed to avoid touching that stuff my whole stay here"
  76. <architectingScientist> "I almost got killed by meteors probably caused by this game and I do not want you to suffer the same fate"
  77. <Roo_inline[DM]> An expansive menu unrolls for feraku (complete with nice animation and everything) along the top of the screen. There's a whole lot of buttons there
  78. <architectingScientist> "I probably sound crazy but just trust me"
  79. <MercurialHermit> "um"
  80. <Roo_inline[DM]> she must already have an idea what this is for.
  81. <MercurialHermit> "alright"
  82. <Roo_inline[DM]> There's a button that looks like a cursor, another one that looks like a weird hexagon thing, and another one that looks like a captchalogue card next to a beaker.

  84. <architectingScientist> Feraku tries to find a button that might be useful.
  85. * MercurialHermit starts tentatively moving the art
  86. <MercurialHermit> "why do I have to do this again?"

  88. <Roo_inline[DM]> A submenu opens up with three different options: one button contains a normal cursor labeled MOVE, the second with a cursor all scrambled up and pixelated labeled REVISE, and another with an upside down cursor pointing down labeled DEPLOY

  90. <Roo_inline[DM]> bayith, roll dexterity
  91. <architectingScientist> Feraku clicks "Deploy".

  97. <Roo_inline[DM]> feraku, yet another menu pops up with 3 sub options
  98. <Roo_inline[DM]> One of them looks like a weird sort of clamp thing labeled TOTEM LATHE, the next looks like a very large round table labeled ALCHEMITER, and the third looks like a large hunk of metal with a tube sticking out of the top labeled CRUXTRUDER.
  99. <architectingScientist> Feraku tries to put down the Cruxtruder in an efficient manner within the room, since it's the one she used first.

  107. <architectingScientist> "I tried to place it down in a manner that would take up the least space
  108. <MercurialHermit> "how does a game affect my real life"
  109. <architectingScientist> hopefully this works"
  110. <MercurialHermit> "wait, when you talked about meteors"
  111. <MercurialHermit> "were those real too?"
  112. <architectingScientist> "Yes"
  113. <Roo_inline[DM]> the giant machine seems to have a chimmey, and a wheel at the side. it seems to be locked with some sort of heavy circular slab of metal
  114. <MercurialHermit> "oh ok"
  115. <architectingScientist> "There should be little screens on each side of the machine I put down"
  116. <MercurialHermit> "in that case please tell me how to not best get killed by meteors"
  117. <MercurialHermit> um ok
  118. <architectingScientist> "That's the time you have left to complete the objective. They should light up once you pop the cap off of the machine"
  119. <MercurialHermit> "alright I'll try that"
  120. <MercurialHermit> Bayith attempts to take the cap off the machine
  121. <Roo_inline[DM]> the totem lathe and the alchemiter continue to be waiting for deployment

  127. <MercurialHermit> outside of Bayith's room is a hallway which connects to the bathroom, stairs and an outdoor balcony
  128. <MercurialHermit> the bottom floor has a kitchen, a living room, and a hunting parlor which houses snakedad
  129. <MercurialHermit> "shit I can't open it"
  130. <MercurialHermit> "one sec, I need to get some help"
  131. <MercurialHermit> Bayith runs downstairs into snakedad's room
  132. <Roo_inline[DM]> snakedad seems to be sleeping, there's a recent shed of skin near one of the walls
  133. <MercurialHermit> "ok, I know you're not feeling well, but I kinda need your help here"
  134. <architectingScientist> Feraku examines the outdoor balcony, maybe she can put down the Alchemiter there.
  135. <Roo_inline[DM]> *snake sounds**
  136. <architectingScientist> She puts the totem lathe down on the side of the hallway, careful not to block doors.
  137. <Roo_inline[DM]> snakedad clumsily wakes up and begins reptating towards you
  138. <architectingScientist> ((brb for about 5 minutes, making my brother lunch))
  139. <MercurialHermit> Bayith attempts beastcontrol 3 on snakedad

  141. <Roo_inline[DM]> the totem lathe falls with a loud thud
  142. <Roo_inline[DM]> snakedad refuses to be controlled by beast control, already knowing how to slip from YOUR grasp

  147. <MercurialHermit> Bayith attempts to get snakedad to telekineticly open the totem lathe
  148. <architectingScientist> ((you mean cruxtruder hopefully))

  150. <Roo_inline[DM]> snakedad focuses and both heads light up with some psionic energy.
  151. <Roo_inline[DM]> the lid is lifted, and falls next to the cruxtruder. snakedad coils himself in the ground... tired
  152. <MercurialHermit> "thanks buddy"
  153. <Roo_inline[DM]> *more snake sounds*
  154. <MercurialHermit> Bayith pats snakedad on its heads, and runs up to check out the cruxtruder
  155. <MercurialHermit> "ok now what"
  156. <Roo_inline[DM]> the screen displays a timer of 3 minutes
  157. <architectingScientist> "Turn the wheel"
  158. <MercurialHermit> "I've got 3 minutes"
  159. <MercurialHermit> Bayith turns the wheel
  160. <Roo_inline[DM]> a light [text color] totem of some glassy material pops up
  161. <architectingScientist> "First, some colored orb should pop out, do not touch it because it turns whatever touches it into some kind of glowing ball thing"
  162. <Roo_inline[DM]> ((feraku, did you place the alchemiter already?
  163. <Roo_inline[DM]> a glowing ball of light pops up as well
  164. <MercurialHermit> "ok I see it"
  165. <architectingScientist> ((not yet, she's thinking of placing it on the balcony but she doesn't know if it's big enough for the alcemiter yet))
  166. <MercurialHermit> "what do I do with this cylinder"
  167. <Roo_inline[DM]> it begins circling around the room. snakedad raises one of its heads and fixes it in place with psionic energy
  168. <Roo_inline[DM]> ((lets say yes))
  169. <architectingScientist> "Hold it for a bit, I need to place down one more machine"
  170. <architectingScientist> Ferkau places the Alchemiter on the balcony.

  172. <Roo_inline[DM]> the balcony shudders at the weigh of said machine, thankfully, it doesn't collapse
  173. <MercurialHermit> "how many of these crazy machines are you gonna drop"
  174. <architectingScientist> "That should be the last one"
  175. <Roo_inline[DM]> snakedad approaches the orb and smells it with its viperine tongue
  176. <architectingScientist> "Just one more thing that isn't a crazy machine"
  177. <MercurialHermit> "right right"
  178. <architectingScientist> Feraku searches around the interface for a card of some kind.
  179. <Roo_inline[DM]> snakedad opens one of its maws really wide and takes a few seconds before doing anything
  180. <MercurialHermit> Bayith finally notices snakedad
  181. <MercurialHermit> "oh shit!"
  182. <Roo_inline[DM]> feraku notices a menu with a card
  183. <Roo_inline[DM]> and lo and behold, there it is. a card
  184. <architectingScientist> Feraku tries to place the card down near the totem lathe
  185. <MercurialHermit> Bayith runs to his lusus to try and stop it
  186. <Roo_inline[DM]> snakedad continues poised, threatening the glowing orb
  187. <MercurialHermit> "Hey, what are you doing!"
  188. <Roo_inline[DM]> *HISSSSSSSSSS*
  189. <Roo_inline[DM]> the other head looks at you
  190. <MercurialHermit> "No! Don't hiss, don't hiss!"
  191. <MercurialHermit> "Oh god why did I wake you up!"
  192. <Roo_inline[DM]> there's... a look snakedad... a particular look of determination
  193. <Roo_inline[DM]> or maybe its just the psionic glow on its eyes
  194. <architectingScientist> "I placed down a captchalogue card near the totem lathe which is the machine in the hallway"
  195. <architectingScientist> "There should be a slot in the totem lathe for the card"

  197. <MercurialHermit> "not now Feraku!"
  198. <MercurialHermit> "My lusus is being really weird about the ball thingy!"
  199. <Roo_inline[DM]> snakedad continues looking at you. with one head, threatening the ball with the other
  200. <Roo_inline[DM]> *distressed snake sounds*
  201. <MercurialHermit> Bayith attempts to control it, but is too low on PP

  215. <architectingScientist> "There is nothing you can do"
  216. <MercurialHermit> "but my lusus!'
  217. <architectingScientist> "I'm sorry I dragged us into this"

  219. <MercurialHermit> "alright how do I continue"
  220. <Roo_inline[DM]> snakedad dissolves into light. and kind of... becomes the orb
  221. <MercurialHermit> Bayith is trying very hard to play it cool
  222. <MercurialHermit> he is failing
  223. <architectingScientist> "Put the weird captchalogue card I placed down near the Totem Lathe in a slot on the Totem Lathe"
  224. <MercurialHermit> alright
  225. <Roo_inline[DM]> a bicephalous orb of light with snakedad's faces now floats next to you
  226. <Roo_inline[DM]> it looks... pleased
  227. <MercurialHermit> "what about the totem, I'm assuming this is the totem"
  228. <MercurialHermit> "Sorry buddy"
  229. <architectingScientist> "The cylinder is the totem I think"
  230. <MercurialHermit> "do you feel any better"

  234. <MercurialHermit> "I think my lusus might be ok"
  235. <architectingScientist> "Thank goodness he is, this also means I might have a way to save Wyvernmom"

  239. <architectingScientist> "For now it's your life that is in the most danger"

  241. <MercurialHermit> bayith runs outside, and puts the totem and the card into the lathe
  242. <Roo_inline[DM]> the totem is carved into some abstract shape
  243. <MercurialHermit> "alright now what"
  244. <architectingScientist> "There's a machine I placed on the balcony"
  245. <MercurialHermit> "ok:
  246. <MercurialHermit> "Bayith runs to balcony with totem"
  247. <architectingScientist> "Place the carved cylinder on a small pedestal of the machine"

  249. <MercurialHermit> Bayith places the carved totem
  250. <architectingScientist> "If you see meteors outside then you don't have much time left"
  251. <Roo_inline[DM]> as you run there you realize you only have a minute left
  252. <Roo_inline[DM]> as you place the totem you see a gigantic ball of fire aiming directly at you
  253. <Roo_inline[DM]> the totem itself is scanned and... a jar and a net appear
  254. <MercurialHermit> "oh boy"
  255. <MercurialHermit> "ok now what"
  256. <Roo_inline[DM]> the jar seems to be filled with fireflies, there's one flying in loose circles around the balcony
  257. <MercurialHermit> "oh wait"
  258. <architectingScientist> "This is a puzzle designed by the game and it's not the same as mine"
  259. <MercurialHermit> Bayith starts trying to catch the firefly
  260. <architectingScientist> "I cannot help you here but you seem to have gotten it"

  267. <Roo_inline[DM]> it begins flying a bit faster
  268. <MercurialHermit> Bayith attempts to use the telekinesis cantrip to stop, or at least stop it
  269. <Roo_inline[DM]> you telekinetically grab the firefly
  270. <Roo_inline[DM]> it begins struggling to move around
  271. <MercurialHermit> Bayith nabs it with the net, then puts it in the jar
  272. <Roo_inline[DM]> you put the firefly in the jar.
  273. <Roo_inline[DM]> the jar fades in a flash of light as the rock continues approaching your home
  274. <MercurialHermit> "ok now what!"
  275. <Roo_inline[DM]> well... that was eas---
  276. <Roo_inline[DM]> EVERYTHING fades to black
  277. <architectingScientist> "Are you ok"
  278. <MercurialHermit> "uh"
  279. <architectingScientist> "I cannot see anything on my screen"
  280. <MercurialHermit> "I can't see anything period"
  281. <MercurialHermit> "what do I do"
  282. <MercurialHermit> "did I win"
  283. <architectingScientist> "You survived"
  284. <architectingScientist> "After this the game changes"
  285. <architectingScientist> "Look outside and tell me what you see"
  286. <MercurialHermit> can Bayith see his computer screen?
