Onyx is a massive Dyson Sphere roughly 2 AU (300 million km) in diameter with a G2 type star (slightly smaller than our Sun) in the middle. It has an approximate volume of 7 septillion km^3 and roughly 255 quadrillion km^2 of habitable surface area (around 500 million times the surface area of Earth). Assuming the Shield has an absolutely pathetic thickness of 2 km (considering Halo Rings were at the very minimum 22.3 km thick in canon), the overall volume of the material used would equal approximately 282 quadrillion km^3. If this material had the density of iron, it would weigh more than the Sun itself.
