  1. Which type of further education course deserves extra financial support from the government?
  2.
  3. In the last days, it has been possible to hear on the radio a huge public debate about whether or not the government should support, by investing more funds in further education, subjects such as art, music or sport, and in which way it would improve our students. This essay will discuss which courses need to be refined, and why.

  5. Thanks to all the recent improvements of technology, young people are more interested in studying further education courses related to it, like foreign languages and computing. For this reason, technical careers are increasingly more popular among students, as it seems that they are the best options to get a better job. Therefore, this led a lot of teenagers to a sharp decrease of their passion for art and this is why the government should support art further education courses, by investing more money in them. Art is the perfect way of maintaining our country's cultural heritage, so the presence of new artists is really needed. Moreover, it is also important to remember that not learning about writers, painters and musicians of our country, might lead to a point were someday our children would not know about which their cultural roots were (or are, not sure).

  7. On the other hand, investing in sport would mean that young people could become important athletes who would represent us internationally. This is the best way to advertise the country by showing other nations how well things are done here. This would not only benefit the general image of our schools, but also the teenagers themselves, as they would be healthier and the risk to get in contact with dangerous activities would decrease. Recent researches have also admitted that young people from our schools do not do as much hours of sports as they need to, so increasing this course would definitely be an important factor for both sides.

  9. In conclusion, despite the fact that improving the health of young people and generate publicity for the country are two important reasons for which government should invest money in sport courses, teaching students about its cultural roots and how they could contribute to improving it, is what deserves extra financial support from the government. A country without both these vital factors, simply can not improve as much as it wishes to.
