[22:13] * Revalius doesn't really know the context of the situation but rolls his eyes all the same same and sits up from his seat, eager to see what Miesta was up to.
[22:14] * Wylde_West still sits with Miesta, looking at the map
[22:15] <CelestialDoggie> The halfling is simply staring at the river ahead, one hand resting on the tiller as the launch slowly putt-putts its way up the river.
[22:16] * Revalius leans back and laces his hands behind his head, better to be bored out of his wits than deal with the others.
[22:16] <CelestialDoggie> In comparison to the tributaries, the Hydra itself is clean and clear, the silty water washing out toward the seas and leaving this section of river pristine. It's also nearly a mile wide this far down.
[22:17] <Elvaral> "I am not the one in the wrong here."
[22:17] * Revalius calls out with his eyes closed, "I think you're the only one who cares, though."
[22:17] <Wylde_West> "I gott
[22:18] <Wylde_West> "I gotta wonder if any of ya worked in  a grouf before. 'Cause you sure don' act like it.a"
[22:18] * Kirath shakes his head and looks to the shore. At least the Drow won’t be hard to shake off if they decide to come at us. Move deeper out into the river and not even a crossbow can take us.

[22:18] <Elvaral> "I simply have never been threatend because of someone's ignorance."

[22:22] * Revalius shrugs, "Never much time to feud on a Lyrandar galley."
[22:22] <Revalius> "Work kept the hands and mind busy."
[22:22] * Revalius looks away and mutters, "Being on shore was another thing entirely."
[22:23] <Wylde_West> "This ain't a military group. Nor ain't it a retinue." He looked at Sophia. "Ain't a competition te seewho's braver." He darts a look at Kirath. "And if everyone can't work together, we'lll be dead."
[22:24] <Sophia> "Sailors on shore leave? I can imagine it must have been some abstract kind of hell."
[22:24] * Kirath gives another strange look to Wylde.
[22:26] <Revalius> "A great deal of cussing, I assure you. Nothing I fit to share with a group, at any rate."
[22:28] * Kirath takes a deep breathe, and gives out a forced, bellowing laugh. “Of course! You hit it on the head! We have to work together, why couldn’t I see this? I must be a fool for always trying to drive others apart!” He winds down into a heavy chuckle. “How stupid of me to be brave and boastful. I was truly blinded by my pride.” He pats his blade and leans back again. “Of
[22:28] * Kirath course I will cease that foolish thought. My skill and experience, merely a illusion to you. How terrible of me not to see it for myself!”
[22:29] * Kirath gives out a faux sigh. “Ahh, that feels much better. To not care for the innocent, and not protect the weak. You are all not those things.”
[22:30] * Revalius blinks at the little tirade but then shrugs, looking over the sides of the vessel and into the clear water beneath them.
[22:34] <CelestialDoggie> As estimated, it takes the better part of the next five days to arrive at the fork, where, with little ceremony, Miesta steers you to the southeast fork instead of the southwest fork, as indicated. Then, she says, it's time to *really* settle in, because the next leg is the longest. (Cont.)
[22:35] <CelestialDoggie> The jungle growth crowds the shores oppressingly close, though the river itself remains exceedingly wide. When Miesta docks for the nights you barely make it a few score paces inside the jungle before any sound of water is muted completely.
[22:36] <CelestialDoggie> During the days there are few signs of intelligent life; most movement is from fish and other aquatic life. Occasionally a flock of birds is startled from the tree canopy lining one shore, leading to a cloud of feathers temporarily blocking the sun.
[22:37] <CelestialDoggie> In spite of the signs of nature's grandeur, there is little cure for the boredom of such a long trip on such a small craft. Indeed, some of the most exciting events are the rainstorms that dump enough water that you swear the river swells an inch or two.
[22:38] <CelestialDoggie> Four weeks after making that fateful turn, you come upon another river fork, where Miesta slips the boat to a much smaller branch of the river, more akin to the tributaries you initally rode on, though the water remains clear instead of muddy.
[22:41] <CelestialDoggie> It is another three grueling weeks--the air growing noticeably cooler in the meanwhile--before Miesta begins consulting her map in earnest, finally pointing out in the distance ahead of you the shoulders of mountains. "There's our path. The last shore is near. We can actually use our legs again."
[22:43] * Sophia switches between travelling in the boat, and floating alongside the boat on a floating force disk. When it rains, she conjures up an Unseen Servant to hold her parasol as she reads - she never seems to sleep when it rains "Where are these ruins you were talking about?"
[22:44] * Kirath blows out a breath of air. “Shortstuff, I have to admit, I didn’t think much of you. However, you got us this far without a single hitch. You’re good.”
[22:44] <Wylde_West> "She's a Tracker. That's her job."
[22:44] * Wylde_West says it with respect.
[22:45] * Kirath chuckles. “I guess I do need to trust a little more in letting others drive.”
[22:45] * Revalius crosses his arms and looms over Miesta's shoulder as he smirks, "Mm, I could hardly do it better myself."
[22:46] <CelestialDoggie> The halfling simply rolls her eyes as she pilots toward the nearest bank. The landscape has changed in these last few miles, the lush jungle giving way slightly and the banks turning more to pebbles and small rocks instead of sand or unforgiving boulders and tangled roots.
